Exclusive and elegant dining experience in the quaint town of Milford PA. The dining room atmosphere and quality of the food surpasses most of the nicest of restaurants in the Poconos. Attention to detail like table placement, decor, lighting, and even the live piano music during dinner made the Delmonico Room and fabulous choice for a special gathering or a romantic experience. Food was excellent , appetizers and entree choices were all interesting. The wait staff was very attentive and checked on our table regularly, glasses were never empty. I rarely give 5 stars to a restaurant but this place deserves the rating and more attention, even though it can be a good distance from bigger populations of people.

From clever mixology to a caviar infused appetizer and long awaited sumptuous scallops, I would call this a hands down exceptional experience! Let's not forget Raymond our pianist who can roll from Liszt to Bach in perfect harmony! Thank you for a most wonderful evening and to our server Kasja, our chef and Hotel Fauchere as you exceeded expectations! We will be returning with friends.
We were here on Mother's Day and everything was great; however Father's Day was a different story. It was very disorganized. Reserved a table on the porch, but they didn't t have it. Had to get our own menus and then get someone to take our order! The food was very good, but waiting an hour to get it was another thing! Disappointed!
Had an amazing dinner at The Delmonico Room. Staff was attentive but not intrusive. Portions were sizable. We split an appetizer (foie gras with huckleberries) and then each had an entree (roast pork with polenta and roasted cauliflower; Long Island duck with sun chokes). Both were delicious and perfectly prepared. We were too full to sample the desserts. Look forward to dining there again.
This is one of our very favorite restaurants. We only wish we lived closer and actually go out of our way to eat here.
On this particular evening we enjoyed a marvelous duck breast and excellent trout.
Thanks to the return of Chef Michael Glatz Sushi Pizza in its original form is back at Bar Louis downstairs and is is as good as ever.
Would've been nice to have somebody on the piano, the price of the dinner warranted It.
Food was good but a little scant. No carbs such as potatoes or rice or quinoa with the dinner.
Enjoyed the complementary smoked trout and Little complementary cookies
Asked for wine to be served with dinner and it did not arrive until we were eating our meal
The ambience is very good and our waiter was very nice and did as well, if not better, than any experienced waiter in Manhattan would have done. The food was good, but we were not "wowed" by it. For the price we thought it should have been better. Nonetheless, a very pleasurable experience. The scallops were the best part of either of our meals.
This was our second experience dining at Bar Louis and it only got better. My family went on Friday night to celebrate an early Mother's Day. We were all impressed with the knowledgeable waiter who showed the perfect amount of attention to our table. His knowledge and advice for each dish combined with his wine expertise and advice was appreciated.
In addition to the waiter, the entire staff was friendly and welcoming.
We all appreciated the comfortable ambiance and would definitely return.

The food was rather expensive ($36 fur a fish entree, for example) but only average in quality. An $8 baby greens salad was dry and not all that fresh (had to ask for extra dressing), and the fish was overcooked. But for small town dining, it was an elegant space and very attentive service.
Very disappointing. Although the menu looked eclectic and interesting the execution was inconsistent. The venue decor wants to be fun but feels dated. We dined on a Saturday night and were a party of 7 celebrating a special occasion. It took 60 minutes for our entrées to be served following appetizers. This restaurant needs to step up its game. They can do much better and historic Milford deserves it.
After reading the description , the bar sounded nice- what was odd was it had a diner feel- with booths all around the perimeter, nothing elegant at all.
the food was OK... and the service was diner like too- very much "going through the motions".
No need to return for me.
I've dined at Bar Louis many times, but I have to say this one was the only disappointing visit. Hopefully a fluke, as I love this place.
The hostess took us to our table and placed a wireless buzzer on the table, so that incase we needed service, we could press it. Immediately I had a feeling like we would be abandoned. I am not going to buzz my server, this is not TGI Fridays. Service should be attentive and not in need of reminding to clear empty wine glasses and reset silverware.
We ordered some apps and entree dishes, and we began with the French onion soup, crab eggs, and kale with sunny egg. I found a crab shell in the egg, which I mentioned to the server and said I was fine and unharmed, but that she should probably alert the chef. She took it away, but not off the bill. In general, service was rather unattentive, and not up to the level that it had been in months/years past.
I will certainly give Bar Louis another shot, but they really missed the mark on this one.
Classic fine bar dining at Bar Louis Located in the basement of the Hotel Fauchere in Milford PA. This wonderful up-scale but not too "SHI-SHI" Bar / Grill offers a fantastic wine list as well as the best craft beer list I've seen outside of New York City. The food has been great every time we have eaten there. Fresh and hot ( I love the Sushi Pizza) and the wait staff is smart and helpful.... A class act in Milford

We've come here many times over the past 2 years and were back for Thanksgiving. We loved the Thanksgiving dinner meal! The Hemingway Daiquiri is my favorite - along with the farro risotto! Delish! Pastries are to die for - and the homemade yogurt is amazing.
Despite good reviews, the food was far from being good. Their signature dish, sushi pizza was greasy with so much sauce that it was not edible. Pizza dough is deep fried rice. Next day, we decided to have lunch at the hotel (I.e. Hotel Fauchere) and the food was served from Bar Louis. I ordered chicken sandwich. After waiting for 45 minutes, I had to send it back. Chicken was uncooked and the bottom of the bread was soggy. I asked my server to have the chicken cooked longer. When I got it back, it was still undercooked and was rubbery. It looked like it is grilled half way and microwaved right before it is served. I had to cancel my order and get my lunch somewhere else. I will not eat here again.
