Hotel Fauchere - Delmonico Room
All was great. They could use one more waiter for a slightly faster service. We will definitely return.
Thank you for taking the time to review. Sorry you found the service to be slow, we hope we'll be able to exceed your expectations on your next visit.
Another excellent meal at the Delmonico room! Our waiter Christopher enhances the experience with his courteous service and articulation of the delicious items on the menu. We left well fed with leftovers packaged to-go. The menu is always new and when you miss something, you will find a satisfying replacement that will leave you craving for more! Get here for a special occasion, the room is beautiful, the parking is abundant and the structure is grand. A visit to the bar down stairs is always in order as well, havent tried their menu yet, but the vibe is awesome!
We were so pleased with the atmosphere, quality of food and the staff, especially Jack, was so attentive.
My husband and I would definitely visit the Delmonico Room at Hotel Fauchere again!1
Our server was delightful, well informed and helpful. We we're disappointed with some, not all of the dishes. The lobster being the worst disappointment, a teeny tiny (canned?) tail in heavy flavorless sauce with dull puff pastry triangles was a flop compared to the beautifully prepared and delicious bronzino. We dined there several years ago and enjoyed a very high level cuisine. For now, we'll stick with Bar Louis.
The restaurant was lovely! I couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate my Birthday ! Highly recommend
Thank you for the kind words. We are glad to hear that your birthday celebrations were excellent. We hope to see you back soon!
We have eaten at Hotel Fauchere and Bar Louie many times before and it was excellent. Dining was previously top notch and they have won many awards. Something has changed, not sure if there are new owners but it was awful. Maybe they are trying to be trendy but the menu was way too rustic, foie gras was not up to par, venison and pheasant was not cooked and cold. Maitre d seated us but was not at the desk to thank us for dining when we completed dinner. Please go back to the old Delmonico Room and Bar Louie--there was nothing that needed to be changed-it was previously perfect.
Linda, I am sorry you were disappointed with your dinner. It was a set menu that evening and we had many compliments on both the venison and pheasant, so I'm not sure what happened with yours. You note that it was "not cooked and cold"; if you had brought it to our attention we could have made sure the problem was remedied. It is always possible a plate that isn't right isn't caught before it leaves the kitchen. I hope you'll ask for me on your next visit so we can make it right. Sean Strub
We had a lovely Christmas Eve meal . The service was exceptional, and the food quite excellent. Even with a mostly full dining room, it was quiet enough to carry on a conversation. With background piano music, it really made the evening complete. We will definitely do this again for Christmas Eve.
Fantastic dinner with many luxury options. we killed just about everything on the appetizer menu and it was all good! lovely to see a quail egg on the wagyu tartare. also enjoyed the oysters fauchere, trout rillettes and blue crab. drinks were served and were superb with a good selection of scotches/bourbons and whiskeys. glad to order a hendricks and tonic and having hendricks available. our group ordered a lamb shank special, delmonico steak and lobster wenberg and not an issue to be found. all was fresh, well presented and delicious with portions to take home. the crispy potatoes are worth mentioning as they were fantastic. a higher price point then much of the area although fantastic. rounding out the weekend included a 2 night stay with a patio room and a large tub. plenty of parking out back and cant wait to go back!
We have heard about the Hotel Fauchere and its history for many years and opted to give it a try - great decision!
My wife an I recently went there and waited over an hour for our appetizers to arrive. There were only three other occupied tables when we were seated. After that wait, my wife's appetizer arrived with an ingredient on it she specifically asked to be served without. She has a sensitivity. The appetizer was taken away and all that they did was pick off the item my wife has a sensitivity to. Good thing it was not an allergy to the ingredient, because the returned item would certainly have the residue on it. After that, we asked for our check and to have the entrees cancelled. Very disappointing. It would seem that the bar downstairs gets preferential service over the fine dining room.
The Delmonico room offers a wonderful dining experience. The trout dip was extraordinary! We all enjoyed our meals and the service was attentive yet not intrusive. Lovely evening!
Area favorite, also great service, food and wine!
Best Old Fashioned ever! Amazing food, cocktails, and service!
!st to be seated at 6:15. Sommelier/head waiter? chatted briefly. 30 minutes later we had to grab another wait staff to order the wine. First bottle arrived. 30 minutes later they took our order. 30 minutes later the first course arrived along with the bread. 30 minutes later the main course arrived. 30 minutes later we ordered dessert. 30 minutes later the dessert arrived, but the after dinner drink did not. 30 minutes later we asked for the bill. Very disorganized.
Food was delicious! Striped bass tartare, blue crab salad, serrano ham and green bean appetizers; duck breast with light blueberry compote, whole trout, scallops, and lobster newberg were all very good(though the lobster dish only had 3 little lobster pieces on a bed of pasta). Piano player was terrific. Wine list is eclectic but works--very reasonable prices except for a few heavy hitters.
Everything was great, especially our server, Aldo. He was attentive, knowledgeable, efficient and charming.
The jazz pianist, which we didn’t expect added to the ambiance in a wonderful way and the meal was wonderful just as it has been before and as we expected. Well done!
Very enjoyable & piano music was lovely
Delicious food! Piano was a nice touch- enjoyed that very much. The bone marrow was a little too salty, but otherwise everything was good.
My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner here. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly. There was a gentleman playing the piano and the room was very inviting. Our server Joseph was phenomenal!! He was extremely attentive yet gave us space/privacy. The cuisine was SUPERB...there was care put into everything, starting with the cocktails all the way to dessert. I had the lamb and my husband had the bay scallops - both were tender and full of flavor. We were thoroughly impressed with everything and will definitely be dining here again in the future.
We had a delightful evening out without kids in a high-end restaurant. The food and service was outstanding. The wait staff were friendly and professional and the food delightful; of special note was the Wagu tartar appetizer. As well, a live pianist made a late night dinner personal and romantic. We would definitely return.
Milford finally has fine dining! We enjoyed a wonderful meal, fantastic wines and beautiful music.
Fantastic restaurant. Lots of great, locally sourced ingredients artfully assembled and served.
They definitely need more staff. It appeared staff was not prepared to serve large party.
We were disappointed with the food and 🍸 cocktails...the oysters were fishy and salty and we returned them (unfortunately) and the steak Delmonico was extremely fatty...the bread was good and the service as well.
While our meal was excellently prepared the overall ambiance and service was only just fair. Our waiter was pleasant but a little hard to communicate with. No mention of specials (which there were) and couldn't adequately explain a menu item. The hostess didn't know which table we were to be seated at, in a dining area of only 12 tables. While we had a reservation, she didn't seem sure that we would could be seated. A piano player in such a small are seems excessive to me. Unfortunately, we will not be repeat customers.
Food was great, just wished there was a bigger selection.
Best New Years Eve Dining experience in a long time. This location will be on our special occasion go to list.
We went here on Christmas Eve. The service was very deliberate. As a result we were there close to three hours! Other than that, everything was fine.
The service was the worst we’ve ever experienced! Seated promptly then 1/2 hour for first server to ask if we wanted water and another 1/2 hour for it to arrive. 1 1/2 hours for first cocktail to arrive. 2 hours and 15 minutes in and our entree was nowhere in sight. We walked out at 9:30 pm with NO Christmas Eve dinner!!!
A gem for pleasurable dining!
Phenomenal staff, live piano, and high end fare prepared and served well !!
We enjoyed delicious dinner food, steak was to Delmonico standard and duck breast dinner best in my life !! Strongly recommended.
Borivoj and Gabriela Jasek .
Our meal was excellent! The waitstaff was incredibly friendly and courteous! Beautiful French Restaurant!
We were visiting from Cleveland. The piano playing was lovely and the wait staff was very attentive.
I was very surprised that when my salmon arrived it was not as warm as I would have preferred. I didn't say anything because my partner's duck was perfect and I didn't want to send my dinner back to be reheated.
The salmon was good but would have been amazing if it was a little hotter. I don't know if the timing with the two dinners was a little off, but I would think that the caliber of this restaurant would not have that happen.
Hotel Fauchère is a gem. Whether Bar Louis, Delmonico's or the outdoor terrasse, we love them all.
Service was attentive without being overwhelming, considering the dining room was empty at our early dining time (6 p.m.). The frisee salad was served with soft boiled egg and chicken livers, which were not really cooked. I assumed that was as the chef intended but was not thrilled. The skate meuniere was delicious, crisp, served with a tasty combo of diced potatoes, but the salmon entree, while silky in texture and attractively served, was unexpectedly smoked and not what was wanted. Also had a menu glitch with the butter pecan profiterole dessert: it was vanilla ice cream instead. Tasty, but again, not as advertised. The waiter said it was a new menu and that they were working out the kinks.
The 4 white wines by the glass were very basic: pinot grigio, SB, riesling and chardonnay. But at least reasonably priced.
Excellent! Very charming. Pianist, Ray Weeks added a fantastic atmosphere to the evening dinner. Service was outstanding. First time there... looking forward to return. Two thumbs up!!
I was there with my wife for our anniversary. The minute we walk in, the mood was set. A piano, with a talented player. Food was excellent , actually very pleasant. Like the menu . I call for a reservation, was glad I was asked to wear a collared shirt , would of worn a jacket.
One of or many trips there. It was as always very good and the service was tastefull
The Delmonico Room is one of our favorite places to dine when we're in the area. Milford itself is a charming little town with some great shops and the nicest people. We had dinner here on Saturday night and everything was perfect from the appetizers to the coffee. Service was impeccable and we were treated to the soothing talent of a pianist named Raymond. This is the kind of place you go to treat yourself to a memorable all around food experience!
