Came back here for lunch after attending a function last year. Delicious food and good menu, friendly but not in your face service. Was very quiet but not unexpected for a Monday lunch service - great place for a catch up to be able to talk and be heard!

Horrible service. Everything got mixed up. Mains sent to table before cocktails and apetizers. Got wrong wine, but an explanation when we asked. Had to ask for one of the mains 4 times, and was delivered after everyone else was done eating. Would not go back.

Booked for a late lunch for my birthday. The food was delicious, but the service was near to none existant. We were advised it was table service - there weren't many other customers in the venue, so thought service would be quick and easy. Just ordering a round of drinks took ages, and we had to ask for more water more than once. We were then informed that anything on tap was unavailable - and it was perfect cider weather! Understand these things happen, so we changed our drinks selections. A member of our party who was pregnant asked for a particular non alcoholic drink and was given the one she said she didn't want. We ended up ordering our food via QR codes on the table as we were hungry and our waitress had gone MIA. Some items were on the expensive side - $4.80 for some gravy or peppercorn sauce is a bit excessive, as is $27.50 for a Pornstar Martini. The menu on the website needs to be updated with the current prices and current specials as these have changed. The Sunday special of $15 for Schnitzel, chips and slaw, and $5 bao buns are great value, though, and as I said before, really delicious. They were out of sour cream and brought out an extra meal by accident. The waitress couldn't tell the difference between peppercorn sauce and gravy and didn't come check on us during our meal. I couldn't fault the food, but the service was terrible. I do understand it's hard in hospitality post covid, especially with staffing, but some basics in service were missing. If we had been told from the start to use the QR code ordering, this would have been fine. Would come back for the food.

As a local in the same street we brought a friend out to join us for dinner however we didn't end up dining here as the noise level was so loud and uncomfortable we left. The wine list and menu were very limited. The staff were friendly was the only thing.

They advertise a $20 steak special. Then make you pay $4.50 extra for the sauce that comes with a steak in literally any other pub in the country. Nearly 25% sneaky increase on the meal cost for peppercorn, mushroom or gravy. It’s unnecessary and devious and leaves a terrible taste in your mouth as a customer. Deceptive pricing doesn’t see repeat custom! Shame on Hotel Collingwood.

Service and staff amazing. Disappointed that the gravy was almost $5 with my schnitzel but I didn’t really read that and barely ate it anyway. I was a little sick later in the day so not sure if all the fried food hit me. Also chips and side green salad definitely too salty (with Parma)

Wasn't thrilled that I booked the bistro for a business lunch noting both in the reservation, called in the morning to confirm the booking, and got there to be told that the bistro was closed for a photo shoot so we'd have to sit in the bar. Food was OK for a pub, but won't be going back for business lunches.
