Too loud and seated in a blinding sun with no view except for a bush.
Asked for inside table and was given one outside. They did move us as there were several inside tables available. Also told them it was our anniversary when I made the reservation, but they never mentioned it. Food was very good, but not great. Service (Patrick) was excellent.
Not to be missed on a trip to Key West.
Spring break from Texas. Absolutely amazing. Sunset was perfect and picturesque. The food and the wait staff exceeded expectations. Highly recommend.
Great view, wonderful food, and a staff that accommodated our requests for a specific table.
Wonderful location . Great sunset views . Very good food . Quaint outside seating . Can be a little noisy from downstairs bar . Our favorite restaurant in Key West .
My favorite brunch spot ever! Awesome food, great service and amazing views of the ocean! Peter, our server was fantastic! The unlimited Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar can't be beat.
This is a regular brunch spot for us and many of our friends and colleagues. Always great service and the food options for small plates are great. The view is incredible.
We had a great evening - service, food, presentation, ambiance. Because the live music outdoors is loud we chose indoor seating and then a booth along an interior wall.
We are on vacation, and this was a very good choice.
One of the ladies was celebrating a birthday and it was a beautiful place to celebrate.
The food was very good and the ambiance and service was great. We sat at the outside seating and enjoyed the beautiful ocean scenery as well as the music playing at the downstairs bar. Our server was great. We let him know about my gluten free needs, and he let me know that most dishes could be prepared gluten free. I would highly recommend Hot Tin Roof.
We booked a month in advance for our anniversary dinner and despite arriving 15 minutes early, we were told there were no outside tables. The hostess goes to seat us when we turn a corner there are two open tables. We asked the hostess politely to sit at one of those tables and she says they are “spoken for” and proceeds to sit us inside. Ten minutes later they proceed to sit another couple at the table. The hospitality industry is a tough business, but we spent hundreds of dollars on dinner and expect at least the basic courtesy of an honest answer. We will never be going back to this restaurant and recommend dinners beware of extremely dishonest and rude staff.
Great view, food and drinks. Perfect place to watch a Key West sunset.
Our waiter recommended grouper. It was poorly cooked and rubbery.
I ordered the crusted Snapper, and found it not to my liking, ask to change it to Scallops and they did it immediately.
This is what restaurants great. The caprese salad was terrific, and the bread pudding we fought over
Great food! Great service!
Wish we had an outside table ! We booked for 6pm to watch sunset! Was seated in a booth
Great dishes, good wine selection , excellent wait staff and hosts.
Fabulous food and nice atmosphere.
We were in Key West for our 25th Anniversary and asked several locals for a recommendation for a special dinner. Hot Tin Roof was the most recommended so we decided to give it a try. It was the right choice, for sure! We arrived a little early for our reservation and were treated to the fantastic pineapple infused vodka martini while we waited. It was refreshing and delicious! For dinner, we had the swordfish, which was moist and flavorful, the scallop rissotto, the grouper and the lobster mac and cheese. All were delicious and our party of four shared, so we all were able to have a taste of each dish. I would say the best meal, by far, that I had in Key West.
The key-lime pie was also the best we had. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special evening out!
Pleasantly surprised by a chocolate cake for my birthday :) thank you for wonderful service.
Way over-rated, maybe good once but not now.
I really can’t say anything positive about our visit/dinner after going to four other restaurants in Key West since this one. It is definitely dead last for every reason you could imagine. One positive, it was clean and cheerful, but it certainly wasn’t about the food.
This was our fourth time dining at Hot Tin Roof. We choose it to celebrate our 37th Anniversary. We knew we could count on good food, great service and a spectacular view of the sunset! We were not disappointed. Once again we received all three! Thank you Hot Tin Roof. We will be back!
Service was great ... ambience superb ... food was disappointing ... not bad , but tasted like a decent chain restaurant. But at least the staff was awesome!
We had a lovely ocean view, great service! The key Lime Pie was the best we had in Key West!
Great brunch with excellent mimosas and blood Mary’s!
Great food as always! We were a party of 12, and our service was outstanding. I try to come every time I am down in Key West! Everyone I’ve ever told about this place, have returned.
Awesome water view, fantastic service! Oleg took great care of us! The brunch with bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s can’t be beat.
Wonderful experience and we will return. Oleg was our waiter for the past two occasions and is superb!
Service wasn’t as polished as expected. Small plates were great. The lobsters sauce was too much and it was all over the dish and you could not avoid it.
We have been to Hot Tin Roof several times and have had some very good meals there. The draw is a waterfront dining experience with some ambiance. The restaurant itself is quite nice and the views of the water are also very pleasant. I had a Caesar - kale salad and the "Paella" with seafood and both plates were equally "good". (3 stars) The Paella had mussels, clams, nice sized shrimp and lobster and all of the seafood was cooked perfectly. I can honestly say the meal was good, but nothing that "wowed" me or would make me come back for more. Our server did a nice job as well and although I would not say he was an overly "warm" person I will say that he was "polite" and "efficient". The reason I gave 2 stars for Service is this: I called my reservation in a month in advance and requested to be seated either next to the water or near the water. When we arrived, the hostess placed us right by the entrance of the restaurant where people were constantly coming and going and NO real views of the water. It was probably one of the "worst" tables in the house. What actually burned me up even more is that 20 minutes after we were seated I looked around and literally tons of tables were available along the window and on the outside deck seating. So I ask this question: "What does it take to get a water-view or outside deck table at this restaurant"?? In addition, both me and my spouse ended up getting sick from the food later that evening; nothing tragic but certainly not pleasant. SO if you are looking for a place that "caters" to the customer, this is probably not it. They take you in, seat you and feed you. That is about it. Not sure I will visit there again next year. There are too many other places with outstanding food and service that are taking over the competition in Key West.
Perfect view over the ocean watching sunset
Excellent imaginative menu and the food was perfectly cooked
Had to wait 5 minutes, but got our requested outside table for our party of 6 just before sunset. Waiter was ok, drinks were good, and food was great. Arugula salad delicious as were the steamers. Everyone loved their entrees which included short ribs, Latin roasted chicken and scallops and risotto. The birthday key lime pie was a nice touch.
It was our first time eating there. We were very pleased with our first experience. Our server, Oleg, was most impressive! We will eat there again and we will encourage our friends and family to do so!
Great views and live music! We started with oysters on the half shell appetizer... fantastic!! My husband got the short rib entree ... it was awesome! I got the grouper ... other than the actual grouper that entree was great ... fantastic flavors! However grouper was super chewy... not recommended. Get the short rib!
Food was great, service on point, beautiful setting
Prices on the high, but key west is pricey all over
Will come back
How does a Supposedly top 10 restaurant in Key West, not have grouper or snapper( They ran out at 730 on a presidents weekend) on the menu??!
Someone needs to be fired, for dropping the ball.
What a disappointment, ruined my vacation.
Won’t be back, Latitudes is a nicer restaurant, and they don’t run out of the state fish for south Florida.
Another fabulous Sunday Brunch experience with attentive staff. Greeted as soon as we arrived by the lovely, Marta, and seat at a wonderful booth. Love the Blood Mary bar and menu item selections especially the lamb meatballs. Our server, Peter, was outstanding and provided top notch service. Will continue to put Hot Tin Roof at the top of our list for brunch in Key West.
Delicious!!! Balcony seating definitely a must.
LOVE Hot Tin Roof. We absolutely MUST go there every time we are in Key West. We already have our reservations for next week!
On vacation in Key West. I had never had fish before. Tried the grouper and loved it. No fishy taste, white and flakey. Very fresh. Talked to the owner (at least I think she was the owner) and she was very nice. Husband had yellow snapper and loved it too. We ate inside. The band below was a little loud for our liking. Sunset view was perfect. Will definitely come again on next trip.
