It was my wife’s birthday....We arrived early and had a drink at the bar. The entire staff was excellent. Our server Adrian did an outstanding job.
My only disappointment was when I made the reservations on open table I indicated it was a special occasion.
it is my experience that special occasions are followed up by some type of recognition...
I saw at least three other tables that were celebrating birthdays and were recognized by the servers with a happy birthday verse....
Aside from that the restaurant is excellent and I highly recommend it when visiting Key West.
Outstanding! Best restaurant in Key West. Our waiter Adrian seemed to know what we needed next before we did. It’s that level of service that keeps us coming back to Hot Tin Roof often. Our first experience with this restaurant was 10 years ago and we have returned to Hot Tin Roof many times during our annual visits to the Keys. If your looking for a great dining experience this is the place for you.
Great sunset view with excellent food!
Great time. Good food excellent service and perfect view. Marta (manager) and Peter (our server) went over and above. Perfect Friday night out in key west. We diffinetly will be back again. Live in Miami and about once year we go to the keys and hot tin roof. A must.
Class place over looking the water from the second floor. Amazing back lit menus. If you are looking for seafood and not a dive, try Hot Tin Roof.

Classy place at the end of Duval Street and right on the water. Beautiful sunset views, best to eat outside for the views. Food and service are superb - local seafood is the best bet.
We are locals in Key West. This was our Anniversary brunch. We were disappointed in the food menu. Attached to our reservation and current brunch online menu is what we were expecting; especially the infused watermelon which is what I was really looking forward to. The food and endless Mimosa and bloody Mary bar were average. The mimosa mixes were from a carton and extremely sweet. The hot food came out cold especially the grouper bites. We enjoyed dinner two years ago and the food was fantastic. The waiter (Max), Mark (host) and the bar tender were all amazing. We tipped them all for their excellent service. We will return for dinner but not for brunch. A suggestion is to update the brunch menu accordingly. Your existing menu has been for awhile and that menu is why I reserved our special Anniversary brunch.
Downhill! Been here for the 3rd time everytime we come to KeyWest! Usually personalized menu and table side drinks. This time you go to the bar for drinks which is ok but what is not ok is they ran out of Oysters???? Really in Key west which is one of the reasons why we come. Food and service downhill not sure if we will return.
Appetizers were excellent. Highly recommend just ordering tapas. I ordered Yellowtail Snapper and it wasn't very good. My date ordered filet and it was just okay. Chorizo appetizer excellent and I highly recommend the Mushroom and Goat Cheese Bruchetta. Stick with Tapas and you can't go wrong.
Great food. Beautiful setting. I ordered a Fine white for my daughters and a glass of zin for myself. The zin was awful and I told the waiter and all I got was a shrug. I guess that’s the way in Romania? Effected my tip.
A "get what you pay for" type of restaurant. Was OK, but would not recommend for a special occasion. Wanted it to be more, but it was not.

The Tin Roof was not so Hot. Thought we would have a variety of tapas to start. The empanadas lacked filling, the lobster Mac n cheese lacked lobster and flavor. Enjoyed the tuna poke but decided to leave because the lack of flavor overall.
A sunset destination but too hot and bright the enjoy it from the restaurant at this time of year. They had the blinds closed. It was dark then and the din of music from outside at the sunset bar was deafening. Once that settled it was better. Nice waiters and maître d. We requested a table on the outside deck weeks ago but did not get it. They arranged better seating inside though.
Menu was nice, food average, nothing memorable. Nicely presented.

Was told by a friend to try Hot Tin Roof while I was in Key West. Do not let the name fool you, very classy restaurant with great food. Tuna Poke was fantastic as well as the grilled filet of beef. Do not forget the cheese cake, the best in Key West. Like the restaurant so well we went back for breakfast, very good also.

Family reunion. Excellent service considering there were 12 of us. Fantastic view and ambience. Great food too! Definitely recommend for any occasion.
Waited at hostess station for 15 min before anyone showed up to greet and seat us. When they did show up the hostess told us to wait so she could talk to the manager about a 4 person table that was coming in the next day. So, we clearly weren’t important enough to be seated in a timely manner. Next, I was able to read my menu, figure out what I wanted to order, and start to sleep on the table before I could get so much as a drink order. Additionally, the steak wasn’t very good, the broccoli was burnt and had a vinegar after taste. The only saving grace was the grouper was good and the key lime pie was good. Don’t see us returning.
Service ruined the meal. The restaurant itself was nice... it was just unfortunate that the service and very long wait on bread and drinks then everything coming out at once, enough to ruin experience. We did not want to eat our Bread, appetizer and entree together.
The view is gorgeous from the patio. However, the cowboy band playing at the Tiki Bar below the restaurant was obnoxious. They played loud and for over 2 hours straight. If you are going for a romantic dinner, better sit inside, or check on what band is playing downstairs. Although, when I went inside, I could hear them in there, too, so that may not help much.
Having said all that, the food was delicious, especially the Cuban Coffee Creme Brûlée.
We had a wonderful evening! We went deep sea fishing that day and had some fish we wanted them to prepare for us in addition to several dishes off the menu. The entire staff was so accommodating and the dishes the chef prepared with our catch of the day was phenomenal! We eat out frequently, but the professional and warmth offered by the waiters and chefs here was superior.
Our meal was MOST memorable. The scallop risotto is to die for. The short ribs melted in our mouths. The wine list was remarkable. Mark made a very special day even more special. We were celebrating our son's engagement and he was warm and wonderful. He sent our table his special Key Lime Pie. We have eaten pie all over the island, and I must say that up until that point, the Waldorf was winning for top of the charts. He has ruined me for all Key Lime Pie, ever! It was the best we have ever had. Thanks again Mark for a most wonderful evening!
The outside band music was piped into the restaurant and the volume was too loud
Food was excellent. Background noise was band downstairs and kids in the dining area, but that doesn’t bother us. Service was relatively ok, the waiters assistant was more attentive clearing plates and filling our waters than the actual waiter taking our order and bringing us what we needed otherwise. Overall, I’d eat here again. The view was incredible.
5th year in a row visiting for wife’s birthday and food as always was tremendous. Outside seating for sunset is magical. The only negative was the large group table next to us was extremely loud- in fact at least one table decided to sit inside instead (we were close to doing so as well)
Wonderful locale for dining during sunset. Our large party was seated on the outdoor balcony as requested. The food was prepared and presented well and tasted quite good. The service was attentive, but not overbearing. As another viewer mentioned, the only detractor was the loud, live music band playing directly below the restaurant dining balcony.
The Hot Tin Roof was excellent! The setting and waterfront location with access to both indoor and outdoor seating is great and the food was local and fresh. Our server, Patrick, was very good. HTR is a must for a fine dining experience in Key West

Sunset dinner during spring break with our family. The perfect dinner setting.
Food was okay. Nothing great. View was amazing. Very little lobster in the Mac and cheese. For the prices we thought it could have been a little better.

Celebrating our engagement!
Dinner at 6 pm in late March to see the sunset based on a google hit saying this restaurant was the best place to see the sun go down in Key West. Service was fast, friendly, and flexible. Patrick was our waiter and visited often and was patient as we took our time deciding what to order. Water glasses were constantly replenished. Shades were lowered to filter the sun but then were raised again closer to sunset. Although the entres were spectacular (Pan-roasted Grouper, Key West Pink Shrimp, Yellowtail Snapper, Filet of Beef, Scallop Risotto and more) none of us were hungry enough for a large meal. That worked out well due to the variety of small plates, side dishes, salads, and appetizer portions of seafood. I ordered the Heirloom Tomato Salad which was served with a beautiful dollop of soft mozzerella and sweet baby tomatos in a basil vinigrette. My daughter ordered the cold shrimp which were large and fresh. My husband ordered the Pork Empanada which came with one serving (small plate) and it left him wishing for more. My friend had the Iceburg Lettuce salad which arrived crispy fresh. Her husband had the Calimari, a generous portion which was served with a blonde sauce instead of red. The favorite dish at our table was the brussel sprouts, cooked thoroughly with thick bacon chunks and a taste of red pepper. We shared a slice of homemade Key Lime pie which was soft as butter and flavorfully tart. The crust included crushed cashews which added a salty compliment, a little different from a typical graham cracker sweet taste. The only disappointment is that you cannot see the sun go down against a water horizon due to an island obstructing the view. By tbe time we realized this, paid, and hurried out the door, Mallory Square was five deep with sunset viewers. I would recommend Hot Tin Roof as an excellent place for dinner, but visit for lunch if you want to see a water horizoned sunset.
Had a great view of the sunset and wonderful service for dinner after our wedding. The Management gave us free drinks, which was very nice. Food was terrific, and the service was outstanding!
