Hot Tin Roof Ratings and Reviews
Service was top notch. It was our first meal here and we left wondering how we had never been here. The ahi tuna appetizer is a must.....freshest tuna we’ve ever had and you flash grill it yourself tableside. Also highly recommend the kale truffle Cesar salad, if you like truffle. Beef filet was cooked to perfection and subbing a side was no issue.
My wife and I were at an event downtown last week. We stopped for an early evening drink at a place we like then decided at the spur of the moment to go somewhere we'd heard of but never been for something to eat. And boy are we glad we did! Hot Tin Roof was just what we were looking for - casual and comfortable, but still nice enough that we felt like we were really going 'out for dinner' somewhere. Given that it was later in the evening we opted to order a couple of small plates and share them along with a glass of wine each. The wine selection was very good, and crab cakes and the lobster mac and cheese were both excellent. The service was exceptional. We'll be back!
Food was absolutely fantastic. Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar included was exceptional. Lots of choices for garnishes and it is truly unlimited. Service was very good. Only downside was the table of 10 idiots behind us that felt the need to scream at each other for the entire brunch. Management really should have stepped in and reminded that table that there were people there that were trying to talk while having their $50 brunch as well. Will try it again. Hopefully, the rednecks screaming at the table behind us won't be there next time.
Reviews seemed great which is why we went. The atmosphere was great. We ordered some mixed drinks which were amazing. The service was good. I ordered a $30 meal and my wife ordered a $40 meal. It didn’t come with any kind of bread or salad before the meal unless you wanted to order a $7-15 app. The seafood in the meal was stellar but the meal itself was lacking flavor. So I guess the point of this review is that for $120 bill at the end is that I left unsatisfied. For that price I should have walked out stuffed and wanting more.
Christmas Eve and our first Christmas just married. We had a reservation at 5:30. We were told that our reservation was 7:30 and we had to sit at the bar to eat. As you can see our reservation was 5:30. The dining room had many available tables. We were then shown a back table in the bar. Very disappointed. The waitress however did a great job.
The brunch was well worth the cost. Unlimited mimosa's and Bloody Mary's. The Bloody Mary bar was build your own with many option. The were several options for the mimosa's as well. The food was absolutely incredible. The service was out of this world. Loved the special touch that highlighted our name on the menu for brunch. We ate there on Christmas Eve with another couple. Be sure to make your reservation!
The attention given from Host (thank you Russam!), assistant waiter and of course attentive main waiter was amazing. Presentation was beautiful. Having the live music from outside bar brought in via speaker system was a lovely touch. We were surprised with a piece of key lime pie for anniversary. We will most definitely return.
All I can say is the staff is absolutely terrific! All the servers did a superb job, very knowledgeable, personable and courteous! The service is comparable to top european restaurants!
The wine selection is also superb! They have wines from all over the world and a terrific iPad type of device to display them with. The food menus are also beautifully backlit so you can see your choices in the dim romantic light. We dined on the patio so the ambiance, view and experience was very romantic.
The noise level could be very quiet if you don’t get a drink office party next to your table as we had. But they left soon after we arrived so the light music was just perfect.
I think the place can benefit from some candles on the tables and black cloth napkins. I was surprised that they didn’t have any black napkins for the upscale feel that the restaurant gives.
The food was good. My grouper was delicious albeit a bit overpowered by a bunch of sauces, crunchiness of some of the side dishes. The lobster mac and cheese is delicious and so are the calamari. My party also had the filet mignon and the short ribs. And both were very good. The cappuccino creme brule is the best. We tried the first three desserts and that one is definitely the winner. Key lime pie is good but overly sweet for my taste and for it being made of limes. I really think the sugar is waaaay too much.
Overall- I will come again because they made my special occasion feel special. Not sure if I want to sit indoors though. It feels slightly dated. Perhaps they need to invest in some upgrades of furniture, the bar area and the paint color. It can be very inviting and lighter. (Not because it was evening. Just the decor felt sort of 90s).
We sat outside and watched the sunset - what a perfect setting for an anniversary dinner. The Grouper was amazing and just the right amount of food - we had room for dessert! The key lime pie was so delicious, as was the Cuban coffee creme brûlée. I highly recommend this restaurant!
