The food as usual was delicious. The ambiance is terrific with a great view of the water. This is a place worth checking out for Sunday brunch with unlimited mimosas and bloody mary bar.

We booked the reservation to celebrate a 50th Birthday. We put it in the reservation too. It was not acknowledged at all, which was a bummer. The staff were cool and somewhat aloof. Food was great but not sure I would go back or recommend it to others.

Great food and location, only minus was the music (very frantic Latino rythms throughout he entire stay). That, paired with reggae music from the sun set pier made it a schizophrenic music experience.

Very loud as there was a not good band playing loudly and somewhat out of tune just below us. We were outside but hemmed in tightly on two sides with a low roof overhead, so it lacked that airy feeling. We could watch the boats go by, but the view was a bit blocked. The food was mediocre in a town with really great food elsewhere. There was wait staff everywhere but they were not very attentive. There are lots of better places to dine in Key West.

Good food and service along with a great view along the waterfront. Highly recommended. One negative is that the restaurant is upstairs and the stairs are not well lit. They could be hazardous to older patrons or when they get wet.

We went to Hot Tin Roof for Thanksgiving dinner. I spoke with the chef, Scott, about making one meal gluten-free for my significant other and Scott ensured all aspects of the 4 course meal were gluten-free. The food was excellent! Each course was flavorful and well prepared. Scott even came to our table a few times to ensure we were enjoying the food and ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant. And Thank you Scott!

The host was genuinely interested and welcoming. He followed up our Open Table reservation with a phone call. Later our travel arrangements changed. We then called and asked for a change of reservation time. This was Thanksgiving day and Hot Tin Roof was booked. So we kept our late reservation with a request to call us if there was a cancellation. They did. The view of sunset was spectacular as was the service and the food. It was a memorable Thanksgiving meal.

This was our second visit and had it been our first, it would have been our only. The only food anyone thought was worth the trip was the ceviche and it was phenomenal. The crab cakes were especially disappointing in flavor, my scallops were very good, but the risotto was cold and sticky, like it was old.

 (New Orleans)·Dined on November 15, 2017

We've dined at the Tin Roof and 4 or 5 other occasions. I've thought enough of the place to have brought a senior exec retreat group for dinner a couple years ago. It was always outstanding. Not so this time around. We started with 3 appetizers, and stopped there. The Key West Pink Shrimp app had all of three (3) shrimp for $15, poor value and they were not terribly fresh. The Calamari batter had a paste like taste to it, and it carried the after taste of old cooking oil. The sole bright spot was the crab cake which was very good. However 1 out of 3 is a bad batting average for any restaurant, let alone one that holds itself out to be fine dining. Very disappointing.

I was skeptical to dine here bc this restaurant was in the heart of the Key West tourist district but it had rave reviews so we gave it a shot. Wow! So glad we did! We had one of our best meals of the week on our recent trip. Starting with a clams & IPA beer appy we shared that was so good we soaked up the wonderful broth with every last piece of bread. We had the paella and the plantain encrusted swordfish. Both just fabulous. The service was excellent & the waterfront view unbelievable. As New Yorkers we consider ourselves very selective and this restaurant did not let up down. We will return.

 (New York Area)·Dined on November 15, 2017

Delicious food and excellent drinks. Great service. Beautiful surroundings. Lovely view. Elegant in all aspects.

Here are my issues:
First, the live music from the lower deck was both bad and so loud that we changed our plan from outdoor to indoor dining. Unfortunately, it was nearly as loud indoors.
Second, no bread is offered; instead, it’s a menu item at $3. I hate being nickeled and dimed. This is a pricey place, just add $1 to each entree and put bread on the table.
Third, on arrival we were asked if we were celebrating anything; it was my birthday and I was wished happy birthday at least four times. So why didn’t they stick a candle in my dessert? Instead they set themselves up for failure.
Last, you have to ask for salt and pepper. Our obvious crudeness was answered with supermarket labeled shakers while everything else is high end. WE are the customers. Adding seasoning should be our choice, not theirs. Don’t insult us and make us uncomfortable.

The waiter sat us directly above a very loud and not good singer who was performing at the bar sunset pier, we asked to move and he said we could only move inside and not elsewhere on the patio. There was barely any lighting to see our food and we couldn't hear each other. We Ordered truffle fries which came as potato wedges and were not cooked through. The chorizo was good and the wedge salad. Overall poor ambience and I would never recommend going if you want to sit on the patio before 7 pm when the music down stairs stops! The wait staff was very prompt and my water was always full.

 (Key West)·Dined on November 12, 2017

Ours was an enjoyable evening out. We've been coming to Key West for a number of years but had never tried Hot Tin Roof before and thought it was time. We had hoped to sit outside on the balcony but after being seated realized the live music outside was far too loud to enable us to carry on a conversation.

Our server was very attentive as was the host. Our cocktails were generous. We enjoy Tapas style dining and the selections were very good. In particular, the Tuna Sataki was quite nice. It was served with a small hibachi grill for those who wanted it grilled a bit along with soy sauce, mixed sesame seeds and a dipping sauce. We also enjoyed the Caprese which had an abundant piece of Burrata along with a pesto like sauce and smaller tomatoes, PEI mussels which were served with two toasted bread and lobster cocktail. All were very tasty.

When we were re-seated inside the two-top was a bit small it seemed and we would have liked a larger table but that's not a killer. I would recommend this and will return on our next visit.

Very disappointed! They have us a horrible table when other tables were open. We couldn’t understand our waiter therefore there was no connection and suggestion selling. My mother’s food was cold and our food was just okay. Definitely not outstanding! Very expensive for this kind of experience. Won’t be returning!

The food and service were great. The noise from the band downstairs was overpowering so we could not sit outside on the balcony. They shut the doors and it was fine inside. The band stopped around 7-7:30 so I would come later and sit outside next time.

Lots of room for improvement here.....
We made a brunch reservation not knowing what was available, as the menu is not shown online. When we arrived we were seated by a very friendly hostess who advised it was bottomless Bloody Mary's and Prosecco's or Mimosas included in the $49 price. As requested we also had an outdoor table with a stellar view and not enough staff. The menu had some good options but the harried and short-staffed servers were really slow in coming to our table. 20 mins later we figured out we could get our own drinks and proceeded to the bar, a good 30 yds from our table....through the very busy dining room and over the dale and around the corner, you get the drift. When we finally got to order food we were told we could have as much or anything we liked, just one problem 6 of the items were no longer available which for 1pm was pretty poor. Devilled eggs gone, filet mignon done, gumbo 86, crabcakes etc etc....the ceviche was very good and the oysters never cleaned were perched in melting ice and silt. The shrimp were average. Our waiter { Peter] had no idea what Prosecco they were serving and when i asked him to check ...he said im sorry I'm too busy. !! but they have 2 bottles at the next table in a wine bucket cant you just look? No sorry you must go to the bar....after 2 or 3 more treks over the crowded dining room, we found it was a Californian sparkling wine and not a brut Prosecco after all.....He tried to \make it up later by bringing a mini carafe to our table as they day wound down, We were very disappointed in the service, the lack of food and the overall concept of overbooking and get what we give you type atmosphere. The coup de gras was at 3pm a rather frazzled manager came out to our table and feigned the shock of seeing a bag pf tarantulas perched there. Ladies why are you still here ? we are setting up for dinner now, you must leave. It was a beautiful sunny day ruined by incompetent staff, no food, & lack of hospitality
