Perfect view over the ocean watching sunset
Excellent imaginative menu and the food was perfectly cooked
Had to wait 5 minutes, but got our requested outside table for our party of 6 just before sunset. Waiter was ok, drinks were good, and food was great. Arugula salad delicious as were the steamers. Everyone loved their entrees which included short ribs, Latin roasted chicken and scallops and risotto. The birthday key lime pie was a nice touch.
Great views and live music! We started with oysters on the half shell appetizer... fantastic!! My husband got the short rib entree ... it was awesome! I got the grouper ... other than the actual grouper that entree was great ... fantastic flavors! However grouper was super chewy... not recommended. Get the short rib!
Food was great, service on point, beautiful setting
Prices on the high, but key west is pricey all over
Will come back
How does a Supposedly top 10 restaurant in Key West, not have grouper or snapper( They ran out at 730 on a presidents weekend) on the menu??!
Someone needs to be fired, for dropping the ball.
What a disappointment, ruined my vacation.
Won’t be back, Latitudes is a nicer restaurant, and they don’t run out of the state fish for south Florida.
Another fabulous Sunday Brunch experience with attentive staff. Greeted as soon as we arrived by the lovely, Marta, and seat at a wonderful booth. Love the Blood Mary bar and menu item selections especially the lamb meatballs. Our server, Peter, was outstanding and provided top notch service. Will continue to put Hot Tin Roof at the top of our list for brunch in Key West.
Delicious!!! Balcony seating definitely a must.
LOVE Hot Tin Roof. We absolutely MUST go there every time we are in Key West. We already have our reservations for next week!
On vacation in Key West. I had never had fish before. Tried the grouper and loved it. No fishy taste, white and flakey. Very fresh. Talked to the owner (at least I think she was the owner) and she was very nice. Husband had yellow snapper and loved it too. We ate inside. The band below was a little loud for our liking. Sunset view was perfect. Will definitely come again on next trip.
Only negative was a wobbley table, but were able to move part way through our dinner
Anniversary dinner. We were seated at the best table with the best view. Food was wonderful. The ability to mix large/small plates and appetizers made for a perfect meal.
Beautiful evening gorgeous sunset!
Had requested outdoor seating and although we arrived early and said we would wait, were told we had to be seated inside. At or appointed reservation time arrived, many seats were open outside. That was the only disappointment. Food was good, wine even better. We did feel the hurry feelings you get sometimes where places are turning tables. Will try again.
Food was great! Local seafood a must.
View of the water is spectacular.
Service was fair, hostess barely spoke English.
Dinning there once was enough. Outdoor music was too loud and made the experience unpleasant.
Had Valentine's Day dinner at the Hot Tin Roof. On the water in Key West. Great ambiance , food, and service. A bit pricey but you want to play you have to pay.
We are there valentines night and while the food was fine there was a child about 5 who cried sang a yelled his way through the entire dinner. His parents were no doubt charmed by him but the other guests no so much
The menu was prix fix and food was good not great. Biggest issue was I felt like I was on a timetable and the staff were more interested in being pretentious and turning the table On a ‘date’ night like that it was a problem. Perhaps better on a regular night
Food was great, wait staff very pleasant. We go there again.
Very rushed service, had us in and out in 1hr 20 min for Valentine’s Day 4 course meal. Not the way we like to dine! Food only warm, not hot! Food was mediocre. Drinks so so, all in all 3 stars is being generous!
Valentines night. Great food. We will be back
Yuri was a server and very engaging. However I was disappointed in the meal.
Pailla was flavorless and lacked saffron and the basil was masked and the dish had no, distinctive flavor. Wedge salad was floating in dressing and lacked the proper amount of gargolzolia cheese. Very noisy with a singer in the bar piped into the dining room and too loud. Was expecting more from the reviews and was a little disappointed. Won’t be back.
The ambience and sunset view was outstanding. The service was great. The food was outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion. If there is one problem that would be it is not easy to get to with those that have mobility issues.
Best brunch on the island! $49/person Sunday brunch includes unlimited mimosas and (create-your-own) bloody marys, and unlimited ala carte brunch menu. Tables are first served with a huge, delicious bacon-covered cinnamon roll to share, plus a seafood plate of fresh oysters, mussels, shrimp and ceviche. Then guests are welcome to order any number of the small plates included on the lunch menu - from sweet and savory waffles and fruit plates, to fresh fish and steak dishes, to more traditional brunch items like eggs benedict. Shrimp risotto, swordfish and oysters on a half shell were my personal favorites. Staff was courteous and welcoming; ambience was ideal for a laid-back Sunday morning/afternoon meal. Reservations are a must-have (sometimes weeks in advance), and if you want outdoor patio seating, schedule your reservation as early as possible. Added bonus of a reservation - your name at the top of the menu, which adds such a fun, personal touch to the brunch.
Wonderful dining experience! We went for the view of the sunset and atmosphere, but loved the friendliness and genuine kindness of the management and staff.
Great spot for viewing sunset, but that’s it. Food was below mediocre-very disappointing. Crab cakes were just OK. Clams were bad. Florida lobster had a mealy texture—not very good. And $42 for a lobster tail with a little arugula on the side was overpriced. Staff was nice but inexperienced. This was the worst meal we had in Key West. There are so many great places, but Hot Tin Roof is not one of them.
I proposed to my gf and she said yes!
We felt lucky to snag a reservation at the last minute. The grouper entree and the scallop risotto were both outstanding. The berry crumble dessert was also very good. I really enjoy dining here, even indoors where it’s dark, as the menus are illuminated! I recommend Hot Tin Roof for a fun and intimate dining experience.
The only issue was limited outside seating as there were several large parties that had that space even though the website says outside service will occur if available. Otherwise the food and service were very acceptable in a very lowly atmospheric tropical white table cloth restaurant. It rises above average in Key West because of location and service as the food offerings track those most everywhere else at this price point. Service is crisp and attentive. We will go back.
Great location with a view of the sunset.
This was our last night on Key West hoped to spend it eating good food, enjoying an ocean view in a friendly relaxed environment. I chose the Hot Tin Roof from numerous choices. Mistake.
Lets start with the location. Located in a Hotel, there is no signage from the street. The entrance is thru a loud outdoor ocean side bar. Had to ask passers by for help since our gps failed to direct us through the bar's dance floor.
We arrived 20 minutes late. The hostess let us know that she had canceled our reservation. I always love feeling like a misbehave school boy when I dine out. The high ranking hostess made sure to exchange quips prior seating us. Appropriately chastised, we were ready to be introduced to the experience of the Hot Tin Roof.
The view over looking the ocean was enjoyable and would have been relaxing, except for the loud music and crowed noise wafting up from the bar. I was grateful we had not been seated on the balcony overlooking the bar. At least inside, we could still hear each other.
All could have been made better with wonderful food.
Presentation was A Plus.
The wedge salad served with chunks of chorizo made for an odd chewy paring. The water melon/goat cheese salad a high light of the meal was excellent.
The grouper fish was also served nicely. It was light and well spiced. The accompanying sides were delightful. The large shrimp with pasta had plump unspiced tasteless shrimp beautifully presented over a bed of equally tasteless pasta. I should have requested cheese or salt to add a bit of pizazz to this bland dish.
Overall the food did not live up to the hype or price.
I must say that the staff was exceptionally attentive. The waitress was so friendly and helpful . The ancillary staff very attentive they were a pleasure.
I would choose Shore or Latitude for view and food. There are many fine places to eat in Key West.
Visited many times while vacationing in Key West. Poached lobster...best ever! Paella had succulent seafood. Creme brulee decadent!
