"Hores" is a 2800 yr. old tree in Shahrestanak village in the province of Tehran, Iran. "Horestan" is where this tree struggles to live. Horest Persian Pop Up is a fair food community that brings strong and powerful Persian women who are facing difficulties living in the U.S. together to make authentic dishes from all the regions of Iran. Each is a representative of "Hores" tree who is trying to get tuned to living conditions by being far from their homeland. As a member of Slow Food USA, Horest dinners are based on the Mediterranean diet, focusing on high consumption of fruits, vegetables and legumes, moderate consumption of dairy products and wine, low consumption of meat. All Horest ingredients are provided by local farmer's markets with fair conditions and pay. Please join founder Ghazal Tabrizi and friends for a Persian dinner celebration of life!
