   This was our second visit for Sunday dinner and once again we loved it and are sure to keep coming back for more.

   Just a few niggles, with food Ham Hock terrine lovely but pickles very sharp would have been better with sweet pickle or apple chutney. Fish and Chips excellent but all piled on top needed a bigger plate had to eat through fish to get to chips. Cheese Board All the crackers were the same and not particularly good, no grapes just slices of very sour apple and no pickle the gherkin and picalilli from the terrine would have been perfect here. All in All the quality of the food was excellent but 🤷 Also the music that was playing was depressing, a recording of someone doing very bad covers of what originally were miserable songs

   We had a very pleasant lunch, with attentive service and generous portions. The vegetables were particularly good. There was no service charge.

   We had a little family get together in Portsmouth and I chose the Maritime Hotel as I knew it was a nice place and the restaurant reviews were good. The staff were really lovely and friendly and we all had the carvery which was delicious. Sadly we were the only people in the restaurant, as I am not sure how widely known it is that you don't need to be a member to eat there. It was such a shame because it really is a nice place and very reasonable too. Well worth a visit.

   Convenient to the Historic Dockyard; good food, good value, pleasant surroundings and excellent service.

   Have eaten here several times, food always excellent Tonight was Salmon Pasta , Chocolate Truffle Torte Great atmosphere, friendly attentive staff Will definitely be back
