Thank you for a great BIRTHDAY! The food was outstanding and the service could not be beat!

The food was delicious and our waiter was so helpful. I appreciated the clearly labeled vegan and vegetarian options!

Menu was pretty limited but that is not uncommon in farm to fork eateries - the wait staff was not sensitive to dynamics of guests dining and interrupted several time to ask about meal satisfaction, did we have enough time for menu review - did we want wine, do u want coffee, etc - all good questions but not just blurted out as we were trying to converse , better to stand at the side of the table to let guests know they need to pay attention - salmon presentation was fun and meat was nicely prepared but not very flavorfu l(veggies served along side were wonderful) - also GF chocolate cake was a disappointment - too dry - just had a similar dish the night before at another restaurant and their was spectacularly tasty and moist -all in all I will not be back soon as there r a number of venues that do a better job such as Alba which has a similar vibe.

Great local fare with excellent service!

I enjoyed the experience very much. I especially loved the fact that they serve local and natural products. I can't stress that enough. We had a beef burger which we thoroughly enjoyed. The veal though, was not as good. Would definitely recommend.

First time eating at HoQ and what a great experience. Amazing food - the burnt carrots were delicious. Great service. Tables very spaced out which allowed it to feel more private. Would absolutely go back.

The service was fine. However the kitchen did not communicate with the servers, my meal was made incorrectly, instead of 86ing the meal, and when I asked for a different meal the worst Steak I have ever had was given to me. It was chewy, poorly seasoned, and lack luster. Poorly seasoned describes the entire experience. Also, my date and I were ill that evening after our meal. I wouldn't wish this meal experience on my worst enemy. My dog seemed to like the steak, but was also sick the following day....

We celebrated our anniversary and It was such a great experience. The staff made us feel welcome and special, specially our server David. He did such an amazing job ensuring we had a pleasant dinner experience. We love this place and highly recommend it to celebrate your special day. Thank you everyone at HoQ for everything.

Our waiter was personable and we enjoyed him very much. The hostess and other staff members were friendly and did an excellent job making our evening out special. The food was excellent. I had the Mediterranean bowl and it was delicious, not too overbearing with spices. My husband had the Beef Wellington and the meat was so tender and flavorful.

This restaurant is like no other for every occasion. Every aspect, from food to service to ambience is superb! We absolutely love this place! It is a must-visit venue! Thank you!

HoQ was awesome! With the prices being on the more expensive end I was worried that it wasn’t going to be worth it but it totally was. The tender loin was cooked perfectly and the lamb fell off the bone. Chef Hoque clearly knows what he’s doing, Every dish from the Amuse-bouche to dessert was flavorful and well balanced. Every dish was exactly the right portion not overwhelming you with food, but you definitely felt full at the end of the meal. I was worried that eating dine in with covid would feel uncomfortable and irresponsible but actually the staff all followed Covid protocols and the tables were spaced with plenty of room. The service was excellent and I look forward to going back for more in the future.

Excellent service and wine list. The steak and lamb dishes were delicious. Seasoning was spot on and portions were generous. They use local producers which they list on the menu. This restaurant is a hidden gem.

The food was really yummy. The food came out appropriately temperate. The atmosphere was really nice. We love the combination of flavors. We are always surprised.

Took the Fiance out for a valentine's day dinner. Neither of us have been to HoQ before and it came recommended by a good friend. We were both on cloud 9 througout the entire meal and evening. Food was fantastic service was great place was busy but quiet would go here again just for a regular meal, had a great time all in all

We ordered the cocktail pairing and the drinks came 5-10 minutes after our food came. The portions were really small. The best part of our meal was the mushroom bisque. Staff just seemed really rushed.

I usually love dining at HoQ. They couldn’t handle the Valentines weekend diners. Service was sloppy and unprofessional and the crab cake entree was more like a dollop of crab. My husband’s tenderloin was nicely portioned. I’ll be back to try again. Disappointing for a special evening

Good experience overall, enjoyed the food (limited menu for Valentine’s Day) and a fun concept. Didn’t blow my mind with the dishes but would come back for the experience and see the normal menu.

We found a creative menu and had a nice time. Highly recommended.
They use locally-sourced ingredients when they can get them.

Very good meal and very friendly service. The menu and wines by the glass are a bit limited, but that’s understandable for a small restaurant trying to do their best during the pandemic. I felt safe throughout the experience. Very high standards of cleanliness. I would return.

Super great. Music could stand to be turned up a notch or two to prevent me from hearing everything from the nearest table and vise versa.

Had no trouble getting the reservation. This is a very clean establishment from what we saw. Our server was kind. Our food was a good temperature. Thought the pricing was high for the food, however, during this time of COVID I am ok with paying more to help out our restaurant owners. For two of us, with 20% tip, we paid just over $100 and that was with tea and no alcohol. We did have two appetizers and two dinners. The chef sent out a taster plate which was a nice surprise. I recommend that you give them a try!! We will go back.

My server was helpful in making sure all of my allergies were addressed so I could enjoy my wonderful meal without any worries. I also would highly recommend the flourless chocolate torte.

We had never heard of this restaurant before, but saw it listed on one of the Des Moines top restaurants lists and thought it was worth a try. We loved everything about it. The food was delicious and a generous amount. The wine recommendation from our waitress was perfect and the service was top notch. We will be back again, for sure!

The butternut squash soup was wonderful as usual. I love the farm to table because you can tell the food is fresh. Seems like you're eating food that just came from your own garden.

Food was alright but I expected better for what we paid.

The New Year’s Eve meal was good, but the dessert was lackluster. Overall, the price was too high for the meal that was provided.

Food and service were excellent! Such a great place!!

Due to COVID, we do not eat indoors at restaurants. It goes without saying that we have truly missed elegant indoor dining. Thankfully, HOQ has an incredible outdoor eating option. We were thrilled beyond belief to be seated in an outdoor alcove that accommodated my family of 4. We had 2 free standing heaters placed beside us and we were so toasty that we took our coats off!!!! On top of that, the food was divine. We will be back!!!! So incredibly thankful for HOQ and their stellar hospitality.

Sharedd a pre fixe dinner for two. Duck egg rolls were excellent. Humus was fantastic. The salad was heavily dressed with grapefruit so not my personal favorite. The main courses of scallops and salmon were perfect and dessert was delicious. The only glaw was the included wine was not very good.

Absolutely amazing, the best restaurant experience I’ve ever had in my life. The waitress was attentive and so kind, you could tell she enjoyed what she was doing. The chef cooked very, very delicious and healthy food. I had butternut squash soup and a nice mediterranean dish and both were wonderfully tasty, but I’m honestly sure the entire menu is delicious. The decor inside is very clean and a very modern design and feel. I 100% recommend this restaurant. I felt very welcomed and taken care of in this establishment if I could rate them any higher than 5 I absolutely would. Thank you so much for a wonderful dinner HoQ!

Our experience at HoQ was nice. The atmosphere was nice and quiet and the service and food were great. Will definitely come back.

This was our first meal at HoQ. We enjoyed the specialty drinks and ambience of the place. Our dinner was fantastic. My burger was cooked to perfection and my husband enjoyed the steak special. We were too full for dessert!

This was a fabulous evening and dinner.
