Hopheads is a bar and bottle store dedicated to selling the absolute best Australian and International beers.

Our original store was founded in May 2015 and stemmed from the relevant question (at the time) – ‘why aren’t there any good beer stores and bars in the west?’

Founder and beer afficionado Adrian Chong (and long suffering partner Wai Lee) were tired of having to travel across town to access quality beers, so they took it upon themselves to right this egregious wrong – and so the idea of Hopheads was born.

Hopheads has since expanded to a second store in Altona, injecting some young blood into the team in the form of the somewhat magnificent Ryan Cochrane.

We remain passionate about making the West-side the best-side for beer in Victoria. The story and journey of Hopheads is a long way from finished, stay tuned

    After becoming beer drinkers we were excited about our visit to Hopheads again for some tasting and hanging out. Sadly our visit wasn’t great. The value for money is non existent, and the service was pretty average. We were told it was some fancy beer week, but it wasn’t explained because we probably wouldn’t be into it and when I asked for a beer that wasn’t $15-$20 a pop, I was blankly told “it’s hopheads” almost like that explained the huge prices…. hmm ok. Sad.

    We had an enjoyable couple of hours listening to the live music while trying some different stouts. Bringing our own snacks was a great option.

    It was my 50th birthday and we went to Hopheads for a quiet drink after a big night the night before. Great location, fantastic choice of drinks (beers, wines, seltzers and more) and awesome staff. We will be back.

    Hopheads is awesome, we always enjoy our time here. Great beers and nice vibe. The live entertainment (Marcus Miller) was also great.

    Great selection of beers (also wine and spirits if that's your thing). No food on site but you can bring. your own or grab something local.

    Great selection albeit reduced from our last visit. We had a very chilled out night. Well overdue for a place like this in this location.

    Great little bar for a beer or 2 with friends or family. Really good that you're able to bring in food with you as they only provide nibbles.
