Hooked is a waterfront café, beer garden and restaurant located in Marahau; the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park. Hooked was opened in 2002 by the Alborn family. Zoe Alborn has managed Hooked since its opening day and remains just as obsessed as she has ever been to delivering a wonderful dining experience for every visitor.

The interior of Hooked has two beach house style dining rooms, both of which are adorned with an impressive collection of seashells, driftwood, crayfish pots and other vintage nautical objects. Even after multiple visits to Hooked, visitors find plenty of interesting pieces still felt to discover.

Local Marahau village residents and visitors to the Abel Tasman National Park converge on Hooked each afternoon to sit, chat, quench thirsts and welcome the stunning sunsets across Tasman Bay.

Nice meal, daily specials, fresh seasonal ingredients, attentive knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great seaside atmosphere and decor to suit. Good value for money. Great outing.

Beautiful location! Sadly the weather wasn’t kind to us and we couldn’t enjoy the wonderful views. However, the food was amazing and the hosts very helpful. The red snapper fish was gorgeous and the homemade chocolate mousse with maple syrup ice cream was divine! I thought it was a restaurant but it labels itself a cafe and is very small and casual.

As a host I never hesitate to recommend one of the best restaurants in the Tasman area for hospitality, cuisine, ambiance and absolute amazing food, and value for eating out.

A lovely evening and a beautiful outlook from an outdoor table. The food was delicious and generously portioned with sparkling flavours. A lovely restaurant for relaxed, casual dining with friends.

This is a must stop if visiting Abel Tasman! Awesome food, any time of the day, and the service is wonderful. We went back twice in three days and will be back on our next !
