Met here to catch up with some old friends. The service was okay, not over the top good but wasn't bad either, but my steak came out over cooked. Which is fine, it happens but by the time I got another cut of meat (cooked perfectly the second time) everyone else was fone eating their entrees and had moved on to dessert...
Great seafood and service. It was very quiet although it was crowed.
The key lime pie was awesome.
Good food. Nice atmosphere
Thanksgiving Day, my wife and I made a reservation for dinner. We were seated in an open air seating area next to the market street. It was very noisy and distracting. Afternoon sun was also in our face and there were no provisions to lower a blind of any kind to block the direct sun rays not only for our table but many others.
We ordered she crab soup. Waitress serving spilled some on my dress shirt in the process of putting it in my bowl.
Regular waitress was slow and pushy. No sooner had we ordered the she soup, she was back for our many entree.
My wife had a glass of white wine...worse she had ever tasted. A second round requested two Fatty IPAs. They brought out another glass of white wine which we turned down and shared the final glass of IPA.
Food was ok at best. My scallops were over cooked and grits quickly cool down because of the wind blowing in through the open window. My wife order shrimp, side of corn medley. Shrimp were small and corn medley cold and unbeatable.
We would not return to Hook and highly discourage others to attend as well. Worse $100 meal we’ve ever eaten!!
Rated 2 star out of five.
Blue light should not be used around food made the food look more disgusting then it tasted.
Nice new restaurant nice ambiance
It’s was a Late Tuesday night, freezing and raining out so we were one of the only tables. There was still live music and the staff was very attentive and nice. Food was delicious, especially the Brussel sprouts
My husband and I try to experience a different resturant in Charleston at least once a month. This was a horrible choice! The appetizers were good. Bar had a limited menu, and someone who could not make a mixed drink for anything. The main course came out- Grouper for me- luke warm and very bland, not much flavor at all. My husband ordered the Whole red snapper. First one came out so burnt, the fish was dry and hard to pull off to eat. The second was still raw on the inside. Horrible. So many other better options in Charleston.... Skip this one!!
A very average restaurant. Service marginal. Waited 15 minutes after being seated before anyone came by. Food good, a bit above average. Kind of loud. Definitely not a date place.
Nice surprise as compared to the former restaurant in this location. Food was very good and so was the service. Will definitely return.
The restaurant, my experience and the food was amazing in itself. My wife has allergies, but they made the experience painless and were accomdating to the sense of her being the only patron there. Anyone with allergies should absolutely consider this place.
Slow night and the server missed some steps.
The She Crab Soup was pricey, but very good. We enjoyed our entrees of fried grouper and a lovely scallop dish.
Fantastic location, easy parking near by. Great 'outdoor' feel even when it's raining. Food was absolutely delicious and extremely fair pricing compared to other restaurants who wanted almost twice the amount for the same dishes. Fish was fresh and plentiful - the calamari and crab fritters were PHENOMENAL!
Hooked is an outstanding use of the old Noisy Oyster space. We had a time element involved which was respected by our server and the restaurant. The food was good and plentiful. It still looks a little like the Noisy Oyster but that's not so bad. The location is very convenient and the valet parking is a nice addition.
Delicious flounder, fried shrimp, okra, and asparagus! Great open air dining! Average coleslaw. Good service. Grits and sangrias were disappointing.
Fried chicken livers are to die for. Ambience and service were excellent!
She crab soup was awesome!
Nice ambiance. Waitress great.
Kitchen slow, took too longer to get food but
Would go again.
Went here with our two teenagers. I really enjoyed sitting near the street and watching all the activity of the street and the city. My family found it a but loud. Our food was slow to come out but our server was excellent and was on top of it.
Food was good. Great location and love the open air option when the weather is nice. A little noisy though with TVs on, music playing and the noise from outside.
The dinners were ok. Drinks were great. Plenty of food. Great service and people watching.
My husband and I went to Hooked with our neighbors. We did not realize it was an older restaurant that has been revived. They have done a great job with the new interior and the food was excellent. We will go back!
Great atmosphere! Accommodated us with a round table for 8 which is great for conversation for a big group. All the food was delicious from apps to desserts. We were welcomed by our server, Journee, who greeted us soon after we sat down and answered our questions and made suggestions to help us make decisions for dinner. Memorable dining experience!
Loved this restaurant. Sit by the window to see the crowds walk by. Food was great and service was outstanding. Would go back.
The food was good but average. The service needs work
Great food, a little warm while sun was out but cooled down after it went
Great food and the wait staff were knowledgeable and attentive.
Grilled seafood was light and tasty. Excellent sides. Brussel sprouts our favorite.
Great food at A great location.
food was very rich, but delicious. The pimento cheese/fried green tomatoes were a hit!
Our waiter,Freddie, was fantastic! Knowledgeable about the food and beverage menu. His recommendations were spot on!
We have already recommended Hooked to several friends and will return for lunch in the near future.
Food and service were excellent as always. We are locals and this is one of our favorite places to eat!
The food was very good and so was the service. We were by an open sidewalk window/garage type door and was annoyed by a local person passing by (several times before he finally left). Our server said she would have the manager deal with him as he was a somewhat regular issue. With that said, he was minor and Hooked proved to be a really good value.
If you plan on going to this restaurant bring your salt shaker and some spice because the food is bland and nothing to write about. So many great places to eat in this wonderful place so do not waste your time or money here. Service was slow and nothing impressive.
Our food was delicious and our service was great.
Outstanding service, great food will be back. Food was served fast, the drinks from that bar was great, the waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Food was decent but our server wasn’t very attentive after bringing our food. We even had to ask another server for more water. Though once we had our check he came back quickly to pick it up. 🙄 Decent place, though with so many other delicious options I say pick another option.
Three of us dined here Saturday evening. Service was spotty, food wasn't very good for what you paid and drinks were terrible. Don't make the mistake of ordering the habanero margarita. I drink these everywhere I go and I can honestly say, I have never had something so spicy. Like, burn your esphogas spicy. Beautifully designed and decorated but will not be going back.
We wanted seafood for dinner. Hooked was a nice place to drive to because they offer valet parking so we didn’t have to fight for parking in downtown Charleston. The shrimp and grits were good with properly cooked grits (not too gritty). The She crab soup was prepared table side and the fried shrimp was lightly battered and not too greasy.
