Fried chicken livers are to die for. Ambience and service were excellent!
She crab soup was awesome!
Nice ambiance. Waitress great.
Kitchen slow, took too longer to get food but
Would go again.
Went here with our two teenagers. I really enjoyed sitting near the street and watching all the activity of the street and the city. My family found it a but loud. Our food was slow to come out but our server was excellent and was on top of it.
Food was good. Great location and love the open air option when the weather is nice. A little noisy though with TVs on, music playing and the noise from outside.
The dinners were ok. Drinks were great. Plenty of food. Great service and people watching.
My husband and I went to Hooked with our neighbors. We did not realize it was an older restaurant that has been revived. They have done a great job with the new interior and the food was excellent. We will go back!
Great atmosphere! Accommodated us with a round table for 8 which is great for conversation for a big group. All the food was delicious from apps to desserts. We were welcomed by our server, Journee, who greeted us soon after we sat down and answered our questions and made suggestions to help us make decisions for dinner. Memorable dining experience!
Loved this restaurant. Sit by the window to see the crowds walk by. Food was great and service was outstanding. Would go back.
The food was good but average. The service needs work
Great food, a little warm while sun was out but cooled down after it went
Great food and the wait staff were knowledgeable and attentive.
Grilled seafood was light and tasty. Excellent sides. Brussel sprouts our favorite.
Great food at A great location.
food was very rich, but delicious. The pimento cheese/fried green tomatoes were a hit!
Our waiter,Freddie, was fantastic! Knowledgeable about the food and beverage menu. His recommendations were spot on!
We have already recommended Hooked to several friends and will return for lunch in the near future.
Food and service were excellent as always. We are locals and this is one of our favorite places to eat!
The food was very good and so was the service. We were by an open sidewalk window/garage type door and was annoyed by a local person passing by (several times before he finally left). Our server said she would have the manager deal with him as he was a somewhat regular issue. With that said, he was minor and Hooked proved to be a really good value.
If you plan on going to this restaurant bring your salt shaker and some spice because the food is bland and nothing to write about. So many great places to eat in this wonderful place so do not waste your time or money here. Service was slow and nothing impressive.
Our food was delicious and our service was great.
Outstanding service, great food will be back. Food was served fast, the drinks from that bar was great, the waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Food was decent but our server wasn’t very attentive after bringing our food. We even had to ask another server for more water. Though once we had our check he came back quickly to pick it up. 🙄 Decent place, though with so many other delicious options I say pick another option.
Three of us dined here Saturday evening. Service was spotty, food wasn't very good for what you paid and drinks were terrible. Don't make the mistake of ordering the habanero margarita. I drink these everywhere I go and I can honestly say, I have never had something so spicy. Like, burn your esphogas spicy. Beautifully designed and decorated but will not be going back.
We wanted seafood for dinner. Hooked was a nice place to drive to because they offer valet parking so we didn’t have to fight for parking in downtown Charleston. The shrimp and grits were good with properly cooked grits (not too gritty). The She crab soup was prepared table side and the fried shrimp was lightly battered and not too greasy.
Great service at bar while waiting for table. All 6 of us enjoyed the entrees and table service was spot on. A place to return to. Thank you.
Service was amazing! However, due to the VERY small portion of my Entree Cobb Salad I left hungry. I’ve had side salads nicer and bigger than what I received. What a disappointment, especially for $16.
We loved Hooked Seafood! We had a large party and our waitress was wonderful and very helpful. The food was excellent and we enjoyed our experience very much.
Hooked is the same owners as Saltwater Cowboys and is pricier as you’d expect for downtown Charleston vs Shem Creek. The food was very good and portions a good size. But our expectations were a little higher I guess after Saltwater Cowboys.
Everything was awesome the moment we stepped in! Our server was very friendly and the food was amazing! 100% would eat there again!
Place is chummy! Ordered what I thought fresh fish! Not the case! Frozen, under cooked, fishy gross! Asparagus over cooked old. Disgusting at best! Staff very nice! Food bad very bad!!!
Good service, good food, reasonably priced.
Great dining experience. Best server ever...
Went for the second time in a week because of the great food, service and open atmosphere. Were not disappointed the second time. Delicious meals, great service really nice open atmosphere.
We are there before. What back a second time for the most delicious grilled salmon plate I've ever had. It really is delicious and I took my daughter there this time so she could try it. Great food great service very interesting menu. If I could say only one thing on the other side of the fence it would be to go there on a cooler day as 2 sides of the restaurant are open to the outside and on a hot day it gets a little warm inside.
Everything about our visit was excellent! With 2 cocktails, shrimp toast, 1/2 dozen oysters, 2 entrees and tip, we paid just over $130. A bit higher than we expected, but the food was very good. Staff was very friendly and after having been to this location when it was Noisy Oyster, they did a fantastic job renovating. It’s light, bright and airy. MUCH better ambiance.
Well done, guys! We will return!
Touring Charleston. We went one night and it was such a great place decided to go back a second night. Swordfish and Grouper were very delicious. Price was reasonable compared to area restaurants.
Overall, our experience was good but not great. The ambience was nice and chill and we had pretty good service but there were a few problems. First of all, about midway through the meal we noticed that there were black gnats that were in my son’s meal and quickly realized with the open air setting they were drawn to the light above our table and falling into food and onto table. We saw at least 10-12 on the table dead. Not appetizing at all to say the least. We did ask to move to another table to finish our meal and have dessert and were promptly accommodated. Most of us were happy with our meals although portions could have been more substantial for the price tag. Shrimp platter (grilled) was lacking in size and my son’s fried chicken platter was seriously lackluster. One piece of chicken sat in the middle of a puddle of watery mashed potatoes for $19. Very disappointing. After bug discovery it was all just too much and he ended up requesting a burger. We were told that it would take at least 20 minutes since other orders were ahead of ours. Not sure I agreed with that comment .. why make an already unhappy customer more unhappy? He ended up eating after we were basically finished. Mojitos were just so-so and did not taste freshly made, although waitress said they would be when I placed order. Barely two pieces of fresh mint in each. And they took too long to get to table. I did like my scallops and calamari was tasty. We also liked goat cheese on bread served with mussels. Dessert was yummy too (pecan brittle bowl with ice cream). Service was good although waitress seemed rushed and not overly friendly but she was accommodating enough. Ambience was pleasant and although we liked the round booth, they might want to re-think those globe lights that attract bugs!
Lovely open air dining and bar. Fantastic service and delicious seafood!
Great casual seafood experience in heart of Charleston.
We had a great dinner, good price, great service.
