A Restaurant Week in Buffalo occasion brought us back to Hooked. The experience was not the same as before, however, with our server misidentifying ingredients in our (very sweet/ dessert like) soup after consuming nice rolls with honey butter...our entrees came out very very quickly and we ended up feeling quite rushed and out of the restaurant in 40-45 minutes...amazing!!! No time to relax over our food in an uncrowded restaurant. (We were disappointed, as our previous visit was a stellar5* one.) We will try it again sometime...perhaps it was just a fluke coupled with Restaurant Week....too bad this time...all though we did end up having time to weed the garden after dinner because we finished soooo quickly! LOL

We had been meaning to come here for awhile and finally booked a reservation during local restaurant week. From the bread with whipped cinnamon/honey butter & Caesar salad to my blackened swordfish & Gouda hominy grits, everything was great! The swordfish was delicious and very light and fluffy. We will definitely be coming back again!

Went during restaurant week so the menu was limited. We will be going back to try things off of their full menu. Waitress was nice and attentive. Food was good with a good size portions.

Taking into account that it was restaurant week, the overall experience was good. Our service was uneven as was to be expected. I look forward to coming back on a calmer night.

We thought 2 large shrimp (definitely NOT prawns) and a small portion of pasta was pretty skimpy for $30. Nice atmosphere and staff but too much for the restaurant week “special”. Probably won’t return soon because of it.

We decided to try due to restaurant week. We were hesitant because of past restaurants here. We stayed when we saw that there were quite a few tables filled and a busy bar. We were quickly seated and met by our waitress. That was the only thing that happened quickly. It took well over 5 min for us to receive our drinks after ordering them. The menu was limited to 9 meals due to restaurant week. Two of us ordered the Lamb Bolognese which was a perfect size, plenty of meat, pasta and sauce and a value for the price. Another person ordered the shrimp scampi at the next tier. The pasta was about the same quantity as the Bolognese and had only two medium shrimp on top. Not even close to a good value. The last person ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese at the highest tier of $40.19 and though there was a great deal of pasta only one small piece of lobster. With the price of lobster being low right now, this was a total rip off. Again, everything took an exorbitant amount of time to receive the first and second courses. With the amount of great restaurants in Buffalo, based upon this visit, I don't think we will be back nor could we recommend it.

We went for Restaurant week, so although the food was good, it was a limited selection so the review is limited too. I had clams linguini, which was lacking in seasoning and a little heavy on the cream. A little salt and pepper helped. My husband had scallops over risotto. Good but a small portion for the price (3 scallops!) I did ask to see the menu and saw many other items I would want to try so I will go back again. Service was excellent and atmosphere was nice too.

Have been wanting to try Hooked for a few weeks now. Restaurant week pulled together family and friends.. we had a lovely dining experience .. cocktails were non traditional and progressive yet enjoyable! Ambiance was social and alluring.. warm bread and cinnamon butter was a winner with our cocktails.. we all enjoyed something different on the menu and each entree was superb! High quality ingredients and paired perfectly with accompaniments! Dessert was over the top and service was attentive and personal without a lapse in meeting our needs . We had a wonderful night with family and friends! Isn’t that what it’s all about! We will tell others and we look forward to our return visit.. I think I would like to try the pork chop! Cheers to all of you at Hooked!

The décor is beautiful - modern and fresh. The food was good - not great. The service was horrific!
It took 15 minutes for our server to make it to our table after having the hostess tell us 3 times that she would be right over. Our water got filled 3 times in the meantime. She delivered our appetizers - mine was wrong. After 60 minutes our entrees arrived. I ordered the blackened swordfish - tasty but dry. My friend ordered the scampi. Shrimp were HUGE - but there were only 2. We ended up having to take our desserts to go because we had somewhere to be which we ended up being late to.
I decided to pass some feedback on to the manager (turned out to be the owner). I simply stated "Rough night." To which he replied - "Well, you have to understand, it's Restaurant Week" OK - he's right, and yes - he had a server call off (one story was a car accident - I hope not, the other was she didn't know she was on the schedule). Either way - It IS restaurant week - over staff, don't barely staff. There were 2 servers for well over 20 tables - BUT - it was a limited menu which should simplify matters.
I really wanted to like this place because Buffalo needs more seafood restaurants. Doubtful I will make it back.

Good meal for Restaurant Week. Scallops over risotto was outstanding. Swordfish was slightly over done. Glass of wine or cocktail came with dinner. Will definitely come again.

Our waitress took 30 minutes to take our drink order then took another 30 minutes to bring the drinks. Other patrons that came in after us received their drinks and food before we did. She never checked on us throughput the dinner. Finally we asked the busgirl for our deserts to go and our check.
The manager came by to ask how our experience was and we stated that the food was exquisite but the server was less than adequate, he apologized but didn’t help get the server back to our table. When we asked the busgirl for our check and the manager, he did not come to our table to speak to us. I guess excellent customer service is not in his restaurant’s wheel house.

The food was suboptimal at best. The waitress was very nice but did seem a bit overwhelmed. It appeared she had many tables, so maybe they were a bit understaffed. Likely not her fault. We always try a new restaurant during restaurant week to find a new go to restaurant. However I don’t think this will be the one. They only offered a restaurant week menu instead of a normal menu, so even if I decided to try it again there was nothing to entice me to do so. My swordfish was extremely dry and the filet had very little flavor. Maybe the chef needs some work, and I have never been to restaurant that didn’t offer their typical menu. To me that tells me their chef isn’t ready to handle the job. Not sure if I would try it again or not.

It was incredibly slow and the fish was definitely rewarmed. I really wanted to love this place. The butter and bread was delicious and so was the scampi but over all it left a lot to be desired

The service was awesome!! We tried a ton of different apps and entrees! The cheese board, shrimp, and scallop crudo were all fantastic and great portions!

Our waitress was good and brought everything out promptly. The food was a disappointment, especially since we have eaten at Lucia's (which I highly recommended, you wont be disappointed just make a reservation). I ordered the Seabass and my wife order the Sea Scallops. The risotto that came with the Sea Scalps was very undercooked and inedible. The scallops were good but looked like they had been cooked way to long on one side and not even cooked on the other. My Seabass was overcooked so that it came out on the dry side. If it was not the the Ginger Miso that the fish was in, I would have sent it back. The waitress removed the Scallops from our bill, which was very nice of her but I cannot recommend going back to this place. It needs a lot of improvement before I would even think about going back.

This was a huge disappointment! To start, the food took a very long time to arrive. The Surf and Turf consisted of a hangar steak, with absolutely no seasoning, and 4 tough and chewy shrimp. The halibut was tasteless, but floating in a bowl where someone was much too heavy handed with pernod - this item was simply not as described on the menu and was poorly presented. The appetizer of crab stuffed banana peppers was mostly a cream cheese base with little crab meat. Our server was okay, but hard to locate.

Our food was terrific and the ambiance was quite nice. Unfortunately the service sub par. They were cordial and eager but perhaps just unseasoned. While it was bothersome to have to keep asking for the drinks we ordered (and it was peculiar baffling that they "ran out of" Titos and N/A beer) , it was more upsetting with the timing of our food. We were served our salads and appetizers and had barely begun eating and our dinners came out. We tried to make as much room as possible but wound up having some of it packaged up. The items are a bit on the pricey side, it would have been nice to have been able to enjoy them. It would have been understanding had the restaurant been full and people waiting to be seated, but there were several tables open. When we arrived and were looking over the menu we specifically said that we were not in a hurry as we were friends catching up over drinks and dinner. Had we not been rushed, we certainly would have lingered over more cocktails and perhaps coffee and dessert. Unfortunately, we opted to leave and went to another nearby restaurant for a few more drinks and dessert.

Although I am grateful for the owner letting me use a gift certificate that was purchased for MTK prime who suddenly went out of business after the purchase, my husband had a delicious meal my surf and turf (shrimp and beef) wasn’t that appetizing. I felt like the beef and shrimp we’re sitting around a few days? The waitress was wonderful and the drinks and deserts were great. Maybe the regular chef was off? Not sure.

Everything, the food, service, prices, and drinks, was acceptable, but not much more. The best part was the quality of the fish, seemed quite fresh and generous portions. Preparation was good, not great. Service was good, not great. Not sure if we would try it again, much better options out there.

We had a reservation for 4 and were sat up arrival. We waited 35 min for someone to acknowledge our table. After flagging down someone to serve us, it took 25 min to get a round of drinks from the bar. The food was mediocre at best and the restaurant temperature was warm enough to the point were multiple people were visibly uncomfortable. Strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant.

We have home when it was MTK prime and didn’t know what to expect. The atmosphere is wonderful. Our waiter was terrific. The food was hot, delicious and , was a very generous portion. Will definitely go again and would recommend, especially if you love seafood.

Extremely disappointed that after making reservations on Open Table for 9:30 at this establishment (reservation options were until 10pm), that we were turned away by the hostess / server because she “thought the kitchen was shut down”. One restaurant has failed in the Wyndham Garden already, this place could follow suit with this kind of customer service.
