Hookline is a new concept from Del Sur Restaurant Group (Hook Line & Sinker, Urban Taco) that is scheduled to open this fall at The Boardwalk at Granite Park in Plano. Executive chef Aaron Nelson calls his menu “Gulf Coast low country.” What does that mean? “Inspiration for our dishes comes from an array of cooking styles from Cajun to Southern comfort,” says Nelson. “Must-try dishes will be ‘Nola Style’ barbecue shrimp and grits, scallops and country ham, low-country boils, and our raw bar featuring a variety of East coast oysters along with ceviche and classics like peel-and-eat shrimp. From the New Orleans style bread pudding to the tangy Lulu’s Key lime pie the desserts we will be making everything from scratch, onsite daily.”

Love this place. I try to come every time in the Plano area. Always a great selection of PEI Oysters and great service! Awesome entree menu too.

Great food and great service. My husband doesn’t do seafood and still plenty of choices for him. The hush puppies are the best I’ve ever had.

Nice restaurant, but a bit too pricey. Knife and Fork Caesar Salad was very creative and interesting taste but we had to request more dressing for the salad.

Their specialty is oysters and fish, and the wine and beer selection seems to be very fun and unique.

Made reservations but they were not necessary as restaurant was not full. I had noted we were celebrating a birthday on the reservation but if the restaurant read our reservation and were aware of the birthday they did not acknowledge it which was unfortunate.
Will eat there again as the food was very good but will not chose it as a special occasion location.

The grilled oysters were amazing as were the deviled eggs, we thought we could just order from the appetizer choices and be satisfied. Our waiter Mario was very informative and very attentive!!

My family of 4 had dinner reservations for my wife's birthday and we were seated promptly. The waiter was friendly and got our drinks and starters right on time.
We ordered dinner and it came right out. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The restaurant was full so I was amazed at how timely everything was.
Thank you for a wonderful evening and we will be back and recommend Hook Line for any occasion!

Nice simple unpretentious place . Friend sore by the collard greens and we had the shellfish bake with prawns and king crab. It came as it said it would and we loved it. The wine by the glass features on their online menu was reduced to a fairly mediocre pinot grigio. Not the cheapest dining option in Plano but waterside setting in granite park was pretty lovely.

It’s pretty telling that it was empty on a Saturday night. The chargrilled oysters were good, but beer lines weren’t hooked up correctly and the hot chicken was crusty and inedible.

Excellent all around! Our server was a young man that was attentive but not overbearing. For starters the chargrilled oysters and ceviche that were delicious. Entrees we had jalapeño cheese grits and shrimp, the “bbq” sauce is not what you’d think- it’s more of a cajun roux that is outstanding! My second time having the scallops and fried green tomatoes, it’s still good though everything else was better. We sat on the patio, some seats were not in the sun so that was nice. We will definitely be back!

Shrimp were a little dry and the cojito had a non-advertised artificial sweetener in it that we couldn't drink, so had to switch to a beer.

When we arrived I told them I made a reservation and they said they don’t take reservations. I let them know it was made through open table and the host insisted that they didn’t take reservations. Luckily, they had availability. But it was so strange nonetheless

I met up with some friends I had not seen for a while as they are from Europe. They wanted seafood and I thought we would try Hook Line. We were not disappointed at all!! We got there during happy hour (4-6) and each had 1/2 dozen oysters that were succulent and fresh, with beautiful presentation. My friends followed their oysters up with the crab cakes which they said were almost all crab meat and very good. I had the char-grilled oysters (9 to a serving) which were excellent and brought back memories of when I first had them in the French Quarter. We also split a basket of fried catfish and gulf shrimp which was also very good. Finally extra kudos to our server as he let me get the Chef's choice oysters at the Happy Hour (HH) price which turned out excellent. I will definitely be back here again during HH to try more of the menu and oyster selection! The people watching on the patio was an added plus.

Took our grandsons for fried catfish and they were not disappointed. Our server brought their kid’s meals out as soon as they were ready. Too hot to eat. I inquired about Oysters Rockefeller and was told they were taken off the menu recently. I substituted the grilled oysters that were covered with Parmesan cheese. Very tasty but two of the 8 oysters were tiny. Bonus, I did find a tiny pearl in one oyster. Hubby had fried oyster salad. Said it was good and was quite large. Sat inside but the patio was full and everyone seemed to be enjoying the cool evening in August in Texas.

Eating on the patio was enjoyable, even in the heat of summer. The boardwalk has a nice vibe, and it was busy without being packed. I had the shrimp and grits, and my friends had the fish tacos. We all gave the food a thumbs up. Attentive service. Will definitely be back!

Flies were buzzing around our heads and occasionally landing on the table. The Mexican shrimp cocktail and the crabcakes were both excellent. The french fries were very good. But the fried catfish was dirty tasting. Half of the oysters were good but the other half were old and overcooked. The fried shrimp were just ok.

What a fun place! A real boardwalk, a lake and lots of fun places to eat or drink We love Hook Line. The peel and eat shrimp are large and delicious. The whole cat fish is incredible. We have been several times and just keep ordering the same things because they are outstanding. Everything that passes looks very good so perhaps next time we will try something different.
