Hook Line & Sinker
Located just 10 feet off of the water, we’re the only restaurant that makes you feel like you’re having a meal on the back of a yacht while you’re dining with us! And, it’s right here where our fresh fish are caught and prepared, guaranteeing the freshest possible meal for all of our diners. It’s why we’re consistently rated among the best Seafood restaurants in the Virgin Islands.
We went on our anniversary day booked because we heard good things, maybe that day they were off their game. We ordered lobster with shrimp and mussels with the island rice and plantains. Mind you I love seafood however the rice was cold and the mussels were gritty didn’t seem fresh. And the lobster was more stuffed than anything. Also overcooked.
It's always fun to go here when we're in St. Thomas. Good food and nice people.
The food was not worth the price and the service was terrible! Beyond over price for nursing home food. They were friendly but extremely disorganized and our food took over 2 hours to arrive. When it did, it was cold and had no flavor. We arrived at 6:30 and didn’t get our food till close to 9pm and had to go fetch our bill because it was close to 11pm. Not worth it at all!
Overrated. Service is very poor and food not what I expected.
Just a bad experience with the staff! The food was 3 out of 5. Drinks were not appealing. We will not return.
Was a little underwhelming as far as ambiance. Server was very nice but quite slow considering there was not that many tables.
The appetizers were good but dinner wasn’t that good. I expected better cooked yellowfin tuna especially at a place known for its seafood. The restaurant smelled like a fish market and the the ambiance was not the nicest. The service was really slow. It’s not a bad place for dinner but not for the prices.
The service was so slow. It was obvious that our waitress had too many tables or couldn’t keep up, and instead of helping out, the rest of the staff was gathered behind the bar, doing other things like cutting limes or washing glasses. Meanwhile our food sat on the shelf waiting for about 20 minutes before she picked it up and passed it to us. It was mostly cold. They included gratuity in the final bill, which is also bad practice.
The place isn't fancy by any standards, yet we had a table facing the ocean, and the food was very delicious - probably, the most delicious on the island (and we dined at many places on the island). The price is also very resonable.
I would definetly return here and I do recommend it.
We were looking for a simple place on our first night.
Food was very good, but not fine cuisine. Waitstaff were really wonderful Casual dress and several families.
Must sit outside as it is on the waterfront and it is quiet and beautiful.
It was just right for us.
Amazing good and service!!
food was ok. fish was fresh but smothered in sauce, too much. had stomachache later.
Food was great! Service was better than most on the island. Would definitely visit again
Cold food and bad service
Asia our server was FANTASTIC!!!! Food was excellent.
Staff not prepared for volume of customers. I had the bus boy notify staff that I had an appointment. Drink service was lacking
Food was great in a relaxing low key atmosphere.
A good friend suggested this place for dinner. We were seated with our reservation at 645 and no one came to our table until 7:00. When we asked about happy hour, the waitress said nope, sorry - it's definitely over. Then why did we sit here for 15 minutes going unnoticed ? Ordered drinks and apps - took quite a while for both and the thing is, you were not that busy when we were there. The conch fritters were charred, but the bacon wrapped scallops were great! When dinner arrived, we ordered more drinks. We got them when dinner was over. Dinner was decent. We were pretty much ignored most of the night by our server - terrible service. We will not be back nor will we suggest anyone go there.
We had a late reservation and could tell they were extremely annoyed the moment we walked in the door. Service was horrible. Most of the food tasted good except the order they forgot to cook, so they fried it really fast and it was inedible. Waitresses were screaming at each other on the patio (which is were we sat). So disappointed for our first meal on vacation.
Grouper was excellent- also key lime pie. Overlook of harbor fantastic
This place was definitely not at all what we were expecting. The service was extremely slow, the food was not good and completely bland, as well as over cooked. The drinks were decent, but the waitress did accidentally pour one on herself, which sadly, the still served to us. However, my friend dealt with is as it took almost 15 min to get our first round. Then the food came out, and my other friend couldn’t eat her dinner bc the fish was hard as a rock. We sent it back, they said they wouldn’t charge us, but then did and we had issues paying the check. The manager was beyond friendly and helpful but the experience was not good. Would not recommend and we would not return to this restaurant.
My family loves the restaurant especially the seafood options. I like the ambiance of the restaurant as well.
Disappointed. We ordered surf and turf - filet and lobster - cost $50 each. Service was slow. The food was served luke warm at best, the filets were not prepared as ordered, had to send it back. The lobster was tiny and we got stuffing that wasn't very good and was not presented as part of the menu selection. For $50 we expected more. They weren't busy at all, maybe 4 tables of guests, so don't understand the reason for the poor experience.
We ate there twice last year and it was delicious both times. Question going back again.
Great water-side location with great seafood. Great menu and moderately priced. Waitress was really nice and helpful picking items.
Loved it! Service and food were delightful!!!!!!!!
We waited over an hour and only received a glass of wine and an appetizer. People were also complaining about the wait time for their meal or had not even been served yet. Very disorganized staff who were struggling to keep up with a crowd that was only at 50% of normal capacity. It was obvious that the kitchen was having issues and we did not feel comfortable eating seafood at this restaurant with such long wait times. The manager was trying his best to put out the fires but if you are looking for a relaxing dinner with good service this is not the place to go.
Slow and food not worth the wait
We visited the restaurant for Valentine’s Day dinner. We were not told beforehand that the menu would be pre-fixed. When we arrived the menu was extremely limited and they were charging $100 per person. The food was 100% not worth it at all. I ordered calamari that tasted like old hardened dough. My lobster tail had the texture of rubber and my prime rib was full of fat and lacked flavor. To top off a terrible dining experience, the owner got into a heated argument with one of the customers at another table and began yelling and bickering back and forth. So much for a Valentine’s Day experience.
It happened to be Valentines Day so we only had the choice of the set menu. I’d guess this place is much better when you can choose what you want. For the $280 price tag for the two of us I just can’t recommend going here.
Average, nothing special. It’s in a ship yard. The pictures and description provided on this page should be more reflective of reality.
The waitress was very rude, I know they were short handed but there's no excuse for that. The hostess ended up helping us and she did a great job of filling but the waitress gave her a hard time about it. Food was also not great, I would not eat there again!
Everyone was very nice and the food was delicious. The filet and the almond crusted snapper are delicious!
Overall the food was outstanding!! We will be back.
Amazing birthday meal!
We had the lobster bisque, conch fritters, tossed salad, lemon butter grouper. Very good nice last minute surprise.
Food sucked but everything else was cool. Unfortunately you go to restaurants to eat and that sucked so consequently the whole thing sucked.
We loved the atmosphere by the water and the casual feeling. The staff were great: friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. That fish soup--on my. The drinks were good.
The worst food I ever had on island 😕 the sides tasted like it was cooked days ago the rice was slimy 🤮 and lack flavor the lobster tasted microwaved and hard again lacking flavor and was still charged 45 dollars for a meal I was not able to eat 😫
An always must dine to when on St Thomas!
Great food and we love the view!
