Hook Line & Sinker
Located just 10 feet off of the water, we’re the only restaurant that makes you feel like you’re having a meal on the back of a yacht while you’re dining with us! And, it’s right here where our fresh fish are caught and prepared, guaranteeing the freshest possible meal for all of our diners. It’s why we’re consistently rated among the best Seafood restaurants in the Virgin Islands.
The food was good and the staff was very friendly! The service alone would make me go back. Outdoor eating was relaxing!
It’s the off-season, so the restaurant was empty when we arrived at 6:30. The staff was very gracious, seeing to our every need with a smile and good banter. The seafood was fresh and prepared well. Everyone had a good meal.
We came because we saw the crab legs in the menu. However there was no crab legs , they informed us that since their well known chef left , Now there is no crab legs in the menu daily. , only on Sundays . I wish it was indicated somewhere . I ordered lobster and my husband ordered blackened tuna fish but it did not look like on the picture. I tasted it and it was not that great . My husband said it was good though . My lobster was good . We were seating out side . Inside it was not that nice . In the toilet there was no soap. Overall it was a positive experience , just with minor problems . My coconut drink was good . Thank you .
Wouldn’t know. Booked the reservation and when we arrived they were closed
Restaurant closed due to weather but never called or emailed to cancel. Showed up and was closed. Happened again two days later but called over the phone this time. Showed up and they were again closed. Have been going for years but will never give them my business again.
Our waitress Pamela was amazing!!
Great food and view, service was outstanding.
The food and service was terrible. The was a man, assuming the manager, and all he did was yell at his staff. They forced the tip in our bill for a party of 2. Most of our food was left on our plates and no one even asked why. Will not go back.
Staff was happy to see us and the food was great
Our waitress Amanda was very efficient and pleasant. Our food came out on time and it was very, very good. My wife’s Caribbean stuffed lobster was much sweeter and less expensive than the one she got at one of our favorite restaurants on the island, Mim’s Seaside Bistro.
Service was very slow.
Restaurant was good people were friendly very helpful only one problem open table has the wrong address I blame this totally on open table not knowing where the restaurant is
The food was kind of boring and overpriced.
Great food!!! The service was wonderful.
Hook Line and Sinker was wonderful! Great food, ambiance and service. Be sure to ask for Pamela our server. She made the dinner even better!
Overall, I've rated our experience at Hook Line and Sinker as "just okay". We had made reservations as we had a party of 7. We received a friendly greeting from the hostess and then were taken to what was supposed to be our table outside. The table did not have enough chairs, so another table was brought to the table and moved to accommodate. The view outside was lovely, but there was a lot of trash under the table we were provided and were disappointed that the trash wasn't cleaned up when the tables were moved. The waitress was friendly and the food was just "okay". I would not necessarily visit this establishment if we come back to St Thomas.
5 of the 6 in our party ordered fish. All 5 were way over cooked. It was really loud but I’m fairness that was mainly due to one large (and loud) table.
Everything was delicious from the appetizers to the entrees. Plus the food was served quickly and the service was great. The crustacean sensation is a must.
Outstanding food…conch fritters and grouper! We sat outside and weather was rainy so dampened OU spirits a bit, but really nice time.
Horrible! I made a reservation using this app. When we got there they told me my table wasn’t available for outside as I had booked but then seated another table outside that came in after us. Servers were standing around not doing meanwhile it took forever to get someone to even come to our table. I wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend.
The food was fantastic. The ambiance is a little to be desired but it’s one of those really good hole in the wall places. I would 100% go back, I would just be more prepared. Parking is terrible so taxi would be best to get there!
We thought Hook Line & Sinker was going to be good after reading some promising reviews, but we were disappointed to say the least. We got stuck inside (even though we asked for outside and had a reservation), and they sat others after us outside. Service was terrible. Took 15 mins to order a drink (and that wasn't by our server). Then the server finally came by 10 mins after, to drop off our drinks and take our order. Food took a while and it was dry, tasteless and full of filler (stuffed lobster). It took over 2 hours for one drink and two meals. They forgot our appetizer.
It was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. To be brief, my wife & I ordered some drinks at the bar and they were delivered to the table which was outside. We were greeted by the waitress who wasn’t very friendly at all, she took our appetizer order and that was dropped off by the hostess, after 20 minutes she returned and took our main order and then she basically disappeared. The drinks that we ordered at the bar, one being a frozen drink, didn’t taste at all like the drink normally would. It was made all wrong. After not seeing our waitress for a long time the hostess dropped off our entrees and I told him that my drink was incorrect and that I’d like to just get something else. The waitress finally appeared and told me that because I didn’t complain about the drink earlier in the meal, I’d have to pay for it. I requested to see the manager and she went off to get them to only return alone telling me that the owner and manager called the police on me because tourists like to skip out on their bill and that I should’ve said something earlier. At this point I’m astonished so I asked fir the manager again and she comes out there ends up being this whole “investigation” aka disagreement about why I didn’t inform them of my drink being incorrect and me telling go them that I would have told them if the waitress didn’t disappear. Long story short, my birthday dinner was ruined and I ended up paying for everything even the surf & turf that I only hate a few bites of and oh even the drink. And apparently the waitress does this to other guests and tried to fight me at the end. The only nice people there was the hostess the bartender everyone else was extremely rude, not accommodating and over reaching with their ridiculous ideals of the restaurant industry. It was embarrassing and unbelievable how I was treated. They don’t care for tourists, only want your money (understandable) and had the nastiest attitudes I’ve ever seen. DONT EAT HERE!
Outstanding stuffed lobster- highly recommended! Friendly staff and cute location. We will be back.
Ms. Ailene was wonderful!
One of the best restaurants we had the pleasure of experiencing!
The people very very nice
But we looked at the menu online and when we got to the restaurant they had taken several things off the menu, those were the items we were looking to order
The seafood was great but the steak was not very good at all. Especially for the price
No hot water in the rest rooms.
Not told that charge machines weren’t working until the end of the meal. Don’t carry a lot of cash anymore but we were. Blue to scrounge enough money up to pay the bill.
Speaking of tips, bill listed 20% tip as part of bill. Chose not to follow their “guideline “ and left less. Wasn’t at the level of a 20% tip.
Will not go back again.
The entrees were very good. The appetizers were ok. Service was fine, could have been a bit more attentive. The people at the table next to us decided to play music on their phone, which didn’t help the experience. Overall it was good.
The food was absolutely delicious. After two hours of waiting, I would’ve been satisfied with any food.
Dinner night with a friend was adjusted because our regular restaurant was closed. Hook, Line and Sinker was there to save the day. The service was great! Calamari was a bit overcooked, but everything else ordered was tasty and arrived timely. Would definitely visit again.
Remodel was nice as well!
Food was good and service decent. Sat outside but wasn't greatest from ambiance standpoint. All in all, we enjoyed it but felt that there are better restaurants and better values in St Thomas
All of the seafood was rubbery
Hook Line and Sinker has been the best meal we have had in St Thomas. It wasn’t overly crowded. We were immediately seated and we were well cared for while we dined. Parking is limited but so is every other place in St Thomas. Our dinners include the Fish and Fungi, a Shrimp and Pasta dish as well as the Grouper in butter sauce. The portions were huge and the taste and texture were spot on. Great place to chill and have a great meal
waitress outstanding food was supposed to be in lemon butter sauce and it came in curry
same for fish allegeries to curry at to send back
We waited almost 15 minutes to be seated after our reservation although we arrived early. Appetizer was decent. Drinks were nasty. Meal was provided however did not the complete follow description as stated on the menu. Food was bland and had NOOOO FLAVOR whatsoever. We were not provided our forks until our entree was already served to us and also had to wait for that. No reason to request for desert as we didn’t want to continue to be disappointed. Bill was to expensive for the taste of food. We ate better food everywhere else on the island.
Restaurant looked like an old diner , service was slow , food was served raw ( multiple times ) , took forever for the food , owner was loud and obnoxious , and I would stay away from this place. Not a good way to spend Mother’s Day.
Set a table for 6 when reservation was for 7 and then proceeded to tell us we couldn’t pull over another table and chair to fit the confirmed amount of people. Took 30+ minutes to get drinks, including water. Server was trying her best but was extremely overwhelmed and could not keep up. Food was good once it arrived but overall service was very poor and took way, way too long for food and drinks.
