Hook Line & Sinker
Located just 10 feet off of the water, we’re the only restaurant that makes you feel like you’re having a meal on the back of a yacht while you’re dining with us! And, it’s right here where our fresh fish are caught and prepared, guaranteeing the freshest possible meal for all of our diners. It’s why we’re consistently rated among the best Seafood restaurants in the Virgin Islands.
One of the best restaurants we had the pleasure of experiencing!
The people very very nice
But we looked at the menu online and when we got to the restaurant they had taken several things off the menu, those were the items we were looking to order
The seafood was great but the steak was not very good at all. Especially for the price
No hot water in the rest rooms.
Not told that charge machines weren’t working until the end of the meal. Don’t carry a lot of cash anymore but we were. Blue to scrounge enough money up to pay the bill.
Speaking of tips, bill listed 20% tip as part of bill. Chose not to follow their “guideline “ and left less. Wasn’t at the level of a 20% tip.
Will not go back again.
The entrees were very good. The appetizers were ok. Service was fine, could have been a bit more attentive. The people at the table next to us decided to play music on their phone, which didn’t help the experience. Overall it was good.
The food was absolutely delicious. After two hours of waiting, I would’ve been satisfied with any food.
Dinner night with a friend was adjusted because our regular restaurant was closed. Hook, Line and Sinker was there to save the day. The service was great! Calamari was a bit overcooked, but everything else ordered was tasty and arrived timely. Would definitely visit again.
Remodel was nice as well!
Food was good and service decent. Sat outside but wasn't greatest from ambiance standpoint. All in all, we enjoyed it but felt that there are better restaurants and better values in St Thomas
All of the seafood was rubbery
Hook Line and Sinker has been the best meal we have had in St Thomas. It wasn’t overly crowded. We were immediately seated and we were well cared for while we dined. Parking is limited but so is every other place in St Thomas. Our dinners include the Fish and Fungi, a Shrimp and Pasta dish as well as the Grouper in butter sauce. The portions were huge and the taste and texture were spot on. Great place to chill and have a great meal
waitress outstanding food was supposed to be in lemon butter sauce and it came in curry
same for fish allegeries to curry at to send back
We waited almost 15 minutes to be seated after our reservation although we arrived early. Appetizer was decent. Drinks were nasty. Meal was provided however did not the complete follow description as stated on the menu. Food was bland and had NOOOO FLAVOR whatsoever. We were not provided our forks until our entree was already served to us and also had to wait for that. No reason to request for desert as we didn’t want to continue to be disappointed. Bill was to expensive for the taste of food. We ate better food everywhere else on the island.
Restaurant looked like an old diner , service was slow , food was served raw ( multiple times ) , took forever for the food , owner was loud and obnoxious , and I would stay away from this place. Not a good way to spend Mother’s Day.
Set a table for 6 when reservation was for 7 and then proceeded to tell us we couldn’t pull over another table and chair to fit the confirmed amount of people. Took 30+ minutes to get drinks, including water. Server was trying her best but was extremely overwhelmed and could not keep up. Food was good once it arrived but overall service was very poor and took way, way too long for food and drinks.
Good food, service was good but slow.
We did not have a pleasant experience at this restaurant. We were in a group of four and I'm not sure if they were just understaffed for the night but the servers seemed very stressed even though the restaurant did not seem exceptionally busy. We had a reservation for 6:45 and requested outdoor seating which we were not given. Service was pretty slow, we were there for almost 3 hours. Our drink orders were incorrect when they came out and we ordered two orders of the fritters, one basket had some chicken wings in it mixed in with the fritters which was odd. We all ordered burgers and those came out correct and were decent. A bartender delivered some of our food and when one of our group asked her a question, she held her hand up to his face and told us to wait to ask our server. Because it was a group of four, tip was included in the total, which is fine. But $75 per couple felt a lot for burgers and beer. We had to ask for our check several times because our sever sort of avoided our table. I would not recommend this restaurant. I left a review on google as well and the owner responded hastily and told me that I must not be "an experienced traveller," which I'm not sure how our poor experience has anything to do with my travel experience.
Nice casual meal. Sat outside and enjoyed the marina scenery. Would recommend for a nice, casual dinner. Grouper, vegetables and Caribbean rice were all delicious
It’s was awesome and the customer service was great let not talk about the food it’s was awesome
Great food ,Great location & Great people = Great Fun!!
We had a loud couple of groups next to us with a lot of foul language, so that diminished our enjoyment considerably. But the food was good.
Good food. Good location. Atrocious service. Our waitress was horrible. We (family of 4) were outside. We watched 3 other tables outside served by another waitress get much much better and quicker service. To make things worse, there was a 20% automatic gratuity for a table of 4! That is completely ridiculous! I guess the waitress knew she didn't have to work for tips! We will probably not be going back here because of the pathetic service.
We went on our anniversary day booked because we heard good things, maybe that day they were off their game. We ordered lobster with shrimp and mussels with the island rice and plantains. Mind you I love seafood however the rice was cold and the mussels were gritty didn’t seem fresh. And the lobster was more stuffed than anything. Also overcooked.
It's always fun to go here when we're in St. Thomas. Good food and nice people.
The food was not worth the price and the service was terrible! Beyond over price for nursing home food. They were friendly but extremely disorganized and our food took over 2 hours to arrive. When it did, it was cold and had no flavor. We arrived at 6:30 and didn’t get our food till close to 9pm and had to go fetch our bill because it was close to 11pm. Not worth it at all!
Overrated. Service is very poor and food not what I expected.
Just a bad experience with the staff! The food was 3 out of 5. Drinks were not appealing. We will not return.
Was a little underwhelming as far as ambiance. Server was very nice but quite slow considering there was not that many tables.
The appetizers were good but dinner wasn’t that good. I expected better cooked yellowfin tuna especially at a place known for its seafood. The restaurant smelled like a fish market and the the ambiance was not the nicest. The service was really slow. It’s not a bad place for dinner but not for the prices.
The service was so slow. It was obvious that our waitress had too many tables or couldn’t keep up, and instead of helping out, the rest of the staff was gathered behind the bar, doing other things like cutting limes or washing glasses. Meanwhile our food sat on the shelf waiting for about 20 minutes before she picked it up and passed it to us. It was mostly cold. They included gratuity in the final bill, which is also bad practice.
The place isn't fancy by any standards, yet we had a table facing the ocean, and the food was very delicious - probably, the most delicious on the island (and we dined at many places on the island). The price is also very resonable.
I would definetly return here and I do recommend it.
We were looking for a simple place on our first night.
Food was very good, but not fine cuisine. Waitstaff were really wonderful Casual dress and several families.
Must sit outside as it is on the waterfront and it is quiet and beautiful.
It was just right for us.
Amazing good and service!!
food was ok. fish was fresh but smothered in sauce, too much. had stomachache later.
We were on vacation in St. Thomas USVI for 10 days post COVID quarantine. We enjoyed HL&S so much that we ate there twice. I’d recommend to anyone living on the island or visiting it.
Food was great! Service was better than most on the island. Would definitely visit again
Cold food and bad service
Asia our server was FANTASTIC!!!! Food was excellent.
Staff not prepared for volume of customers. I had the bus boy notify staff that I had an appointment. Drink service was lacking
Food was great in a relaxing low key atmosphere.
A good friend suggested this place for dinner. We were seated with our reservation at 645 and no one came to our table until 7:00. When we asked about happy hour, the waitress said nope, sorry - it's definitely over. Then why did we sit here for 15 minutes going unnoticed ? Ordered drinks and apps - took quite a while for both and the thing is, you were not that busy when we were there. The conch fritters were charred, but the bacon wrapped scallops were great! When dinner arrived, we ordered more drinks. We got them when dinner was over. Dinner was decent. We were pretty much ignored most of the night by our server - terrible service. We will not be back nor will we suggest anyone go there.
We had a late reservation and could tell they were extremely annoyed the moment we walked in the door. Service was horrible. Most of the food tasted good except the order they forgot to cook, so they fried it really fast and it was inedible. Waitresses were screaming at each other on the patio (which is were we sat). So disappointed for our first meal on vacation.
