Overpriced for mediocre food. Fairly loud atmosphere. Had difficulty holding conversation with those across the table. Service was slower than expected.
Enjoyed a wonderful barbecue meal in honor of Father's Day at Honeywood. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Looooove the restaurant, service and the amazing food. Priced just right. Can’t wait to go back. It will be hard to choose something other then the scallops because they were fantastic!!
The service felt rather slow on an evening when it was not really crowded. It took about 35-40 minutes from the time we arrived to be served our food. The ribs (from the Father's Day menu), the accompanying grits and my wife's shrimp and grits were all served at a barely passable temperature and we probably should have sent them both back. The ribs were a little dry in my opinion, not bad but nothing special. This was our first visit to Honeywood and it was a disappointment, I don't think we will go back.
My family and I went here for Father's day. I thought overall the service was slow, there were only 6 tables filled when we were there so it wasn't busy at all. I got the pot roast which came without gravy, but it was VERY tender overall good but it wasn't even warm when it came out. The potatoes au gratin and mustard carrot sides were just ok nothing special. The Oscar performance dessert was GREAT. Overall I'd try it again, but I wouldn't expect much better.
I had visited Honeywood about one year ago and overall enjoyed it. Thus, thought it would be worth a return visit for a special occasion. Unfortunately this was not the case. I was very disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the food was still quite good (nothing to write home about: but not bad); I just do not enjoy waiting TWO hours for my party of three to get their meal. The server kept saying she would be with us as she sped over to another table. It was a steady day-but nothing extraordinary. They appeared to be staffed appropriately. We had to ask for things we already mentioned (condiments, straws, etc.) TOO MANY times. There are way too many restaurants in Lexington-or even in The Summit for that matter-for this to be the case. Unless you want to carve out an entire afternoon for just an adequate meal, do yourself a favor and keep looking elsewhere.
I was really disappointed. The food was ok, but it just wasn’t anything special
Always have a great meal at Honeywood. Food and service are great.
Really enjoyed Honeywood, great food and nice waitstaff. There was a longer than expected wait time for main course... could use oil and bread to hold people over until food arrives. Deviled egg were great as well as lamb and pork chop.... slow cooked greens and the grits really stood out and were great!!!!
Great as always
Enjoyed our dinner!! Great service. Desert was outsanding😀
Food and Service were excellent. Noise level high. Good place for casual dining.
This was our first time dining at this restaurant. We were catching up with some friends so we were there for a long time. Our server was very good and he was very patient with us. The food and drinks were great. We will definitely plan to come back!
The beignets were good, but I was not impressed with the sauce they were served with and it made the beignets soggy. The steak was under seasoned and the fries were overcooked. The desserts were okay. Overall, I was disappointed with the food, especially for the price.
Food was great. Service was average at best.
First time to order shrimp & grits- much too salty. Never disappointed but this time I was.
We were in town for a concert and wanted dinner before. My cousin who is a chef somewhere else recommended Honeywood. We made a reservation beforehand and needed an early time, so when we got there we were seated right away. We chose to sit inside, but the outdoor patio looked fabulous! We started with sweet potato beignets which were very good. They were like sweet potato fritters. I had the Florida Fishing Cottage, which is the fish special of the night. It was trout stuffed with rice that night, and it was excellent. My husband had BBQ lamb and it was great too. Service was very good and we out of there in plenty of time. This is located in a very busy shopping area, so parking might be difficult, but we will definitely go again if we are in Lexington.
Lovely. Delicious food. Wonderful artwork.
Delicious food. Great prices. Lovely restaurant!
The food was very good, and our server was friendly and asked if we needed anything twice!
The server was super friendly and helpful with food suggestions. I got the scallops and they were amazing. My dad is a picky eater but he chooses Honeywood to eat when I’m in town.
Don't bother with the special deviled eggs or the sopapillas - our entrees and shady lane salad were excellent.
Shrimp and grits were good except for the overpowering gravy which was so salty. Wife had Chicken and gnocchi which was salty as well. Size of meals was small for price paid. Salads were good. Server was overworked for a Friday night leading to delays. I'd give it another shot, but would try something else.
The four ‘o clock appetizer is our favorite! The summer cocktail menu is very nice, too.
Amazing food sourced from local farms. Seafood Etouffee was perfect with just the right amount of heat. Fresh ingredients make the difference. You wont leave hungry. Definitely one of our favorites.
Food was very good and the place was very nicely designed. Would recommend Honeywood to anyone looking for a good meal.
I like That Honeywood always has chefs specials. Tried the onion rings this time and they were fantastic! Definitely should keep them on the menu! Service was just okay, however, it was early for dinner on a Saturday night.
A late visit for Mother’s Day. Everything was beyond tasty. We started with the baked Cheese dip and country ham biscuits. Try the soup beans and hoe cake... great value for $5.
Everything was perfect down to the 3 awesome desserts. Will definitely return.
The grits are the best in town!
Everything was great!!
Sunday dinner with my wife and daughters. Seasoning and presentation a bit off.
Went for Mother’s Day brunch and as usual had another very good meal. I recommend to anyone wanting a good rendition of Southern cuisythat has some well done variations
Food and service were both wonderful. The environment is so nice! Fresh flowers on the table and as soon as you walk in! Enjoyed our mother’s day lunch immensely.
We had a lovely time. Love everything about this place.
I was happy to see that they now have valet parking in the Summit directly across from Honeywood. We started with an appetizer of spicy chicken bites, then shared a shady lane salad (delicious) and salmon with scallop potatoes. They brought us a bourbon bread pudding but we had ordered the bourbon pecan pie so we enjoyed both although I would have preferred that the pie be served warm and not cold. We each had two drinks and the total bill was $ 80 with tip, so a little pricey for a shared meal but everything in the Summit is pricey. It was good and I would recommend it. They have a small bar area that we would probably choose to sit at next time and just order appetizers and drinks.
Right from looking to leaving everything was smooth. Food was out of the world. Service was impeccable. I loved the steak. Flavourful and cooked to perfection. I remember I mentioned it was my wife’s birthday while booking. Maybe I forgot. But if I did then it would have been an icing on the cake of someone from the resturant just dropped by wished her. But that’s not a big issue. We had a super great time and will come back again.
Food was excellent and love the atmosphere
This place is amazing! Great food, very affordable, and amazing service. The atmosphere is great for many occasions: datenight, meeting friends from out of town, casual dinner. It's a great atmosphere, maybe not "romantic", but the service and food make it great for a dinner out, or dining and drinks before a movie. Portion sizes are excellent, and i highly suggest trying the cocktails. This is one satisfied customer, that's willing to skip out on the busy hustle and bustle of downtown and drive from Kenwick all the way across town for this great dining experience.
