Honeysuckle is more than a restaurant. It’s a network of community spaces centered around the values of ancestry, nourishment, and reclamation that was founded by James Beard Award Semifinalists Chef Omar Tate and Chef Cybille St.Aude-Tate. In 2022 they opened Honeysuckle Provisions, an award winning afro-centric grocery/cafe and food-focused community space located in West Philadelphia. Now positioned in the North Broad area of Philadelphia, Honeysuckle offers a fresh perspective on food systems - expanding the idea of Afrocentricity in food by redefining the limits of a restaurant and celebrating the legacies and recipes of those that came before them.

    From beginning to end the meal was fantastic. Every single dish had so much flavor and everything was cooked perfectly. The Mcdolands money is a must try! Most dishes have a story behind them on why/how they were created and it really makes for a unique dining experience. The service there is fantastic. The servers are all highly knowledgeable bout the menu. My friend was celebrating her birthday and they made it so special for us!

    Wow, what a great new addition to the restaurant scene. Incredible attention to detail in every aspect--cocktails, dinner, service. Great pacing for a tasting menu. Best dirty martini (think pickles, not olives) I ever had. Couldn't be more impressive.

    Unique dining experience in Philly. The space is beautiful. Service is attentive and super friendly and knowledgeable. Food is bursting with flavors and even dishes I grew up on (fried fish, 7 up cake) took me back to my youth but had much more complex flavors. Had a chance to talk to Chef Alex who is a soulful man. The wine pairing by the head bartender Abby were right on the money. Must go to !

    Beautiful dining experience with thoughtful, creative, delicious food that left me feeling full and sat well in my body. Really appreciated that they asked about allergies and were happy to accommodate our party's (gluten, dairy, crustaceans). And the non-alcoholic options (the false amaro was great). Thank you Honeysuckle!

    Interesting, creative, and delicious food created with care and passion. The staff was informed and informative about the food and the traditions behind it. We enjoyed our conversation with Chef Omar who shared even more about the creative process. The restaurant itself is beautiful.

    It was an absolutely incredible experience! Every piece of the meal from the tasting menu to the wine pairings to the plates they’re served on was thought out and deliberate. Dishes taste familiar but they’re the best possible versions of them. I’m still thinking about those hush puppies and the potato salad. We weren’t overly hungry so we skipped the McDonald’s Money burger but I’ll definitely be back soon to try it! Everyone is sleeping on this place. You need to go!

    Food and presentation was excellent. Service was attentive. All of the dishes were explained in detail. Honeysuckle was a pleasant dining experience.

    Another fine dining experience at Honeysuckle. Enjoyed a luscious red cocktail in honor of Juneteenth and had a delicious meal--pickled collard as an amuse bouche, a special bread with butter and compote, hush puppies with thinly sliced country ham (amazing), "black caesar" (a very delicious salad) and the seafood alfredo (with freshly made noodles, lobster, crab, shrimp and more in a delicate creamy sauce--yum, yum, yum!) paired with a pleasant sauvignon blanc, and a dessert (with custard, pickled berries and mini-meringues). Very satisfying and a good value for the quality of the food and service. Food is locally sourced and the experimentation with sauces and fermentation takes things to the next level. Service is very friendly and professional. Ambience is warm (and cool), very inviting. One of the top five restaurants in Phila.

    Where do I start, Honeysuckle is a never forgetting experience with a burst of flavor profiles that you probably haven’t had before!! Everything tasted fresh like the ingredients were hand picked! Every dish was also explained in “DETAIL” to us by our waiter and food runner from the kitchen. Outstanding customer service at its best it was my first time here and I loved everything about the new experience. Thank you! Honeysuckle for hosting my amazing date night, I will definitely be coming back.
