   Dined at Honey West recently and was quite disappointed. Food seemed much lower quality than previous experiences. The root vegetable pasta was exta extra el dente, so much so that everything was sticking together, very bland. Also ordered the chopped tossed wedge salad, $12.00, came out smaller than what you'd expect a side order to be. Too bad.

   THEY DIDNT SEAT US - they said they don’t use open table and asked us to sit at the bar. There’s no one even to contact in these situations- to have this happen on valentines with my expecting fiance, is ridiculous.

   The restaurant smelled bad, the booking was messed up due to some system issues apparently. When we were sat at a table adjoined with others in the middle of the room we asked to be moved and they refused even though 2/3 of the restaurant was empty. Ultimately left as it was a terrible setup for a Valentine’s dinner since they wouldn’t move us to one of the more private tables.

   Shame on the management. 2 servers tending the floor, bar and hostess station. Someone called in however it was valentines and best to be over staffed then understaffed. Even 3 would not have been enough staff. Especially since you might be making a first impression on new customers. We had one of the first seatings so we where lucky. Anyone arriving after 7pm not so lucky. Don’t need to go into details as I’m sure you can imagine. Had to return my beef Wellington ( over done) food overall was good. Atmosphere- solo act excellent musician I’m sure on a normal night it’s a great place. The 2 servers did as best they could under the circumstance. Not the Valentines evening I was expecting.

   The filet mignon was tasty. Although I ordered it medium rare and got it rare. The lobster bisque did not taste like a lobster bisque. The grilled calamari was oily and soggy. Finally, we ordered two coffees that tasted like they sat for 2 days in the coffee maker and the milk they gave us was past due!

   My wife and I come here a lot for our date nights. We love the food, the staff and the music at night. Great atmosphere and always fun.

   Visited for dinner before a show at Burlington Performing Arts Centre. We all went for the specials which were steaks that night. Excellent meat. Well prepared. Desert was also excellent. Dinner for two was $140, with wine, which we thought was a bit pricey . Other menu items are cheaper, but we have had no experience until next time.

   Love the $8 Lunch at Honey West - perfect spot for a ladies lunch in Burlington. I have been 3x and each time the dishes on offer are interesting and delicious. My only complaint is that it can be a bit loud which is not so easy for those with hearing challenges.
