Established in 1982, Homemades by Suzanne offers more than 35 years of delicious recipes! We offer lunch in the historic John Marshall Ballrooms located at 101 North Fifth Street between E. 48 hours before my reservation, I received a call from the restaurant letting me know that my reservation should not have been accepted as they would be closed for a wedding. The website had advertised that a holiday buffet would be offered each Thursday of December and listed the dates. I made my reservation in early December. This was a huge disappointment as this was to be a family Christmas celebration with several coming from out of town. We had enjoyed the buffet at Suzanne's last Christmas and were looking forward to an equally festive experience this year. It was difficult with such short notice to find a venue for a large group. I am not certain I would recommend the venue to a friend, as much as we have loved the food and the venue in the past. I wish there was a maybe as an option below.

For a white cloth, table seated lunch with good food, this is the place to go. The daily specials are always excellent and the quiche of the day is interesting and good. The table service takes place in a large ballroom and appears a bit out of place but the experience is always nice

Nice place and quiet enough to be able to have a pleasant conversation. Does not feel like dine in is their main business but they did work hard to make it nice and friendly.

I absolutely loved my family‘s holiday lunch at the John Marshall with Homemades by Suzanne. The food was delicious, the decorations were gorgeous, the staff was very accommodating and extremely friendly. The only thing that kept this from being a perfect rating was the fact that when the Buffet was replenished, it was replenished with different foods. My husband wanted more beef short ribs, and they were replaced by barbecue. He was disappointed, but I do understand that in the food and restaurant industry right now it is hard to determine just how much to prepare.

I very much enjoy visiting Homemades by Suzanne at the John Marshall Hotel. The venue is generally very quiet, and suitable for a business meeting. I also enjoy their menu.

The food was exceptionally delicious, as always. I was a bit disappointed in the appearance of the dining area. I expected it to be more polished. It is a large, open room with a few tables but the potential is there. The waiter was good but not excellent. I was disappointed that I had to stand and wait at the counter for quite a long time when I was ready to pay the bill. When someone finally came out to assist me she was a "zero" on personality. Suzanne's food is always delicious. The experience would be better with a staff better trained and welcoming.

While in Richmond for a seminar I found Handmades by Suzanne on the Open Table app and after reading reviews we decided to try it. We had homemade soup, quiche and amazing salads. All the food was fabulous and then we tried dessert. The vanilla ice cream on the apple cobbler ala mode was beyond delicious! It was so good we went back on the second day and brought more of the attendees with us. Don't miss it, the building it is located in is historic and beautiful

3 of us went for lunch during our trip to Richmond for a seminar. We had salads and soup and quiche and everything was amazing. Our waiter was friendly quick and on top of taking care of us!

Unfortunately, when we arrived the restaurant was closed for private events. This was very disappointing considering we received a confirmation of our reservation and had guests travel from out of town.

Our waiter treated us like royalty ! He could have been a butler in the castle! He called us ladies,, not hey guys.. he said 'You're welcome" when he thanked him.. not "no problem" Ugh , I hate that.. The food was very very good, and fresh! Waters were on table, and refilled when necessary. I got home made potato chips with my meal,, which were kinda different, not real tasty. The salmon quiche was fabulous ! The desserts were also fabulous! I loved that the prices were all the same.. no matter what you got. It 's a very elegant place !

We enjoyed the food and the setting. The service was great. It was quiet enough that you could hear each other talk. Wonderful to make reservations for a busy time in Richmond. Enjoyed it and will be coming back.

Wonderful to have Honemade By Suzanne’s delicious chicken salad and yummie rolls! Everything was great. Especially the waiter. Very accommodating and friendly. Surroundings are a bit bland. Tables could use a few flowers for some color!
