We had dinner and drinks before heading to a music show in Silver Lake. Great time and really liked the feel of the room at Home Restaurant. Service was good and friendly. We ordered the fried pickles which were really good and a little spicy. We split the fish n chips which were OK. After dinner we walked into the back-room bar where we watched some of the Dodgers game and talked with a couple of the friendly bartenders.
The food, prices and wait staff were great! Our orders came quickly and accurately.
My friend chose Home to go to brunch for her birthday. I was really looking forward to a great brunch because I had heard so much about this place. I had to send both my coffee and food back because it was so bad. Potatoes were dry, bacon was completely fatty, and the menu description for Huevos Rancheros was not accurate--there was supposed to be guacamole but there was none, and there was a weird relish on it that was not described on the menu that I did not like. The manager was nice enough and apologized to us many times, but even during and after that, the service was very slow and sporadic. We'd order things and not get them until we'd wrangle the elusive waitress and remind her about it. I don't get why this place is so popular. Very mediocre.
The food was good but the vibe was very low-key. It would perfect for a casual dinner for a small group.
Food is usually very consistent however my husband tried the Fish and
Fries and was disappointed with the portion size. Two small pieces with tons of fries.
Staff was very attentive. Lots of menu options. The calamari, fried chicken burger and chicken pomodoro sandwich was delicious. French fries were on point. Very cute ambiance.
We were a group of 10 for dinner at 7:30. The food was good. The restaurant was barely occupied. We ordered drinks to start and it took about 15 minutes to get all of our drinks which showed up in waves. Towards the end of dinner, a Diet Coke was ordered. The bill showed up about 5 minutes later, with the coke on the bill, but not delivere. Another 5 minutes went by and I finally asked the waitress to bring the coke and she did.
The restaurant was not busy enough to warrant this kind of delay for drinks. I will not be rushing back to this place.
Great food, service, location. We love brunch here on the weekends.
Great food and drinks! I highly recommend for brunch or breakfast.
Reception was something to be desired. In order to get a table for Two out iif the sun the reception asked how long we were going to stay! My friend thought it was a terrible question. I wish she had framed the question better, i.e. “I have a reservation for that table at 12 pm. I can give U the table if u think u will be done by 12.” Then I find out she didn’t annotate that we showed up for the reservation we made on “Open Tanle”!
I made a reservation for 12 through Opentable. the table was not ready on time. then, after making us wait they put us outside on a hot day without asking if it was ok with us. they apparently had a bigger party than mine. i asked if there were fans. got a negative answer. so i insisted to have a table inside and was told i was supposed to specify that at the time of the reservation. i had the feeling that the staff did not know what each other was doing. why did we have to wait for the "outside" table way pass the time of the reservation when that area was available the whole time we were waiting? we are a bunch of friends who get together once a month. the food is ok but often time is served lukewarm. most of the servers are pleasant and accommodating. they do not split checks.
Great menu selection! Great service! Great tasting food!
Everyone liked their food and drinks, but eggs on chillaquillas should be over medium, not hard. My only complaint. Good place to go pre-game.
This place NEVER disappoints. Everything about HOME makes you want to come back again and again.
Good food in vibrant setting. Great pre concert. Great blue cheese bloody Mary’s
Food is always great. Our server was very nice and mostly good but kept forgetting to bring things for one person at our table. It was frustrating to have to keep asking for the same thing but overall it was an enjoyable meal.
Great meal and service. Excellent Sangria. Dog friendly patio.
We had a lovely dinner outside, were able to talk easily, and really enjoyed the evening.
Great thank you
Went on a quiet Tuesday night, they gave options of eating out on the patio or indoors. We told hostess that we were early for our reservation. I gave her the time. She knew our party and pointed to a nice booth she had reserved for us. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. He was an attentive (and patient) listener and treated us - without asking - to a birthday treat for my husband as it was a quiet celebration. We also took advantage of Happy Hour pricing (all over the restaurant - not just the bar!!) until 7 and the waiter placed an 'advance' second round order for us to take advantage of the pricing (with a smile). Overall positive experience. The mixed drink (Silverlake Mule) was tasty but not strong (ok with me but some may want more vodka) - the second round had too much lime and made it tart not sweet. Food was decent, hot, and as expected. Not exceptional - but it's mainly comfort food. My ahi tuna salad was slightly overdressed and a bit salty with the spicy rub on the fresh tuna. All other dishes were given thumbs up (pot pie, filet mignon, fish tacos).
Cool place. The outdoor patio area is sun lit & relaxing, and you can’t beat one of the dining areas that as if it belongs in the library of a mansion. I also like that the bar is really spacious with tv screens tuned into sporting events. Food is really tasty (I love the chicken & waffles). Just wish they had a bottomless mimosa wknd brunch.
Home Restaurant - Silverlake is a great place. Very comfortable, with both indoor and outdoor/patio/garden dining. Nice selection of entrees, salads, sandwiches and a full bar. Great service and pleasant ambiance.
We actually had to seek out our service after waiting 20 minutes. Ultimately management came over and was very apologetic. Also, the temperature outside was at or near 100 degrees and they had no air-conditioning. Food was ok, and i would still recommend home, but they may need to be more attentive to the areas referenced above.
Pleasant place for a special event, with indoor and outdoor seating, plus a customized menu for our event. Tiptop service at tables. Unforgivably slow at the bar. (Dinner arrived before the cocktails, tho the cocktails were ordered far ahead.) Noise level indoors is deafening. But good food, well cooked, and a fun place to table-hop at a special event.
Cute little restaurant I drove by every day for 4 years. But behind the doors, was a really fun location!
Had the salmon pom. Tomatoes took over the fish. If u removed the pom the salmon was very bland. Turkey burger, had high Hope's again they were dashed. Again toppings took over the burger, once removed the burger was flavorless. Sweet potato fries were limp. Waitress and hostess were great. The food not so much.
Our group had a fantastic time! Our waitress was excellent, food was good and the outdoor seating was great! We will be back!
Tastiest bloody in town and the food wasn’t bad either. Make sure to request that gorgeous patio of theirs.
Have been here many times and it never disappoints. Delicious, no matter what you get, great service and fun. Two thumbs up!
Also good food and a good time. This isn’t my brother and I’s favorite place to meet/eat.
Located at the northern edge of Silverlake, Home is freeway close to both the 2 and 5 freeways. I've eaten there many times over the past 15+ years and love their patio dining. Larger groups get a big round comfy booth. (You can also eat inside where there are tables, a bar, and a tv tuned to the day's sporting events.) I typically have a salad, wrap or sandwich for lunch and maybe the calamari as an appetizer. Portions are generous and the food is very, very good. All of the other dishes that I've seen served at my table have also looked really good, and people always enjoy their meal and want to come back. Service is friendly and competent, but expect it to be a tad slower at peak times. There is a small valet parking lot, but parking is not validated. There is plenty of parking on Riverside Drive if you don't mind walking half a block. I look forward to my next visit.
Wonderful place, delicious food.
Arriving on time for our reservation, we were seated quickly and in the patio as requested. Ambiance was pleasant with plenty of servers checking in on us periodically and best of all with smiles. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Will definitely recommend for anyone looking to be in the Silver Lake area.
Great food! We had a wonderful evening!!
Was disappointed to be sat next to kitchen door, even though we had made reservations. I was given the impression that we would have had better seats if we just showed up and waited 20 mins. Overall the dining experience and food were good, once they figured out who our server was and where our drinks had gone too.
Celebrating my son’s scholastic achievements!!
Very accommodating with our dog. They gave him a bowl of water and had a rules sheet ready.
Food was excellent.
Drinks were great.
Service was great.
We always try to come here during Happy Hour for the chicken wings which are fabulous. I tried the bruschetta and it was a lot better than expected. Customer service was excellent, and the waitress was attentive even though it became a bit busy. I may consider trying to come back on a Wednesday for $7 Mules. Thank you!
GMCLA had its post-concert celebration at Home. Fantastic food and service; very pleased!
