   Not your grandfather's steakhouse! Unbelievably delicious assortment of flavors and textures. In-house dry-aged steaks are probably the best in town, grilled at your table and served in small portions so you can try many different things. Service was impeccable. Great cocktails too. Already looking forward to my next visit.

   Really friendly staff. Leo our waiter was exceptional, detail oriented & knowledgeable. The sashimi & the meats were delicious. Most everything else was just ok. We got the dinner project for two & for the first few courses the food came out so fast I thought we were in a fast-food restaurant. When I told our waiter, Leo, that we want a relaxing dinner he let the waitress know & it was much better.We would definitely go back but not order the dinner for 2.

   This place is amazing everything was so good ! Never felt so full in my life ! Leo was our server and cooked our meats to perfection!!! Leo’s service and personality was great !! Will be back soon and ask for him again!

    What an interesting evening… Upon arrival for our 8:30pm reservation, we were told that Holu was too overbooked for the night, and that we would have to wait at least 40 minutes to be seated. That 40 minutes turned into 1.5 hours. We weren’t seated until a little after 10pm.. Each group of customers that walked in with a reservation was told the same, disappointing thing: “We are just too overbooked, you’ll have to wait a bit.” The only thing offered to us in exchange for the excessively long wait was 1 free half glass of Prosecco each.. Once we finally sat down, we only had 1 hour until the kitchen closed, which made for a very rushed dining experience. The food was absolutely outstanding, though! The attention to detail in presentation and preparation was remarkable. I wish we were offered the opportunity to actually engage with the atmosphere and culture without feeling pressured to hurry. We truly believe as though our evening with Holu was tainted due to the manager’s excessive greed to book a full house — which inevitably just led to an empty heart. For a company that is “dedicated to the science and art of meat, grilling, and drinks,” they should first try to dedicate time and energy into customers, compassion, and capability.

    Had to wait for 30 min even with a rez. Waiter was nice but not attentive. It takes a really long time for them to cook the steak. I don’t know why you can’t just do it yourself

    I loved Holu. We were more focused on the meat side of the menu. I would love to go back and sample more of the food. While I've been to many of the great steakhouses in Chicago, I prefer Holu as it serves a lighter profile and a balance of tastes that really lets the quality of meat shine. Our dishes: - Foie Gras: good, but does not stand out. I would try something different next time - Lobster Rice: my partner enjoyed this a lot! - House Salad: simple but good - Meat Paradise: not a ton of food, but cooked fresh in front of us. I enjoyed the chance to sample several meats and was very satisfied by the amount of food given. I think it's enough for 2 people with an appetizer, drinks and dessert. I really enjoyed it a ton. Your mileage may vary if you don't eat the accompaniments, but I enjoyed them all. The pickled cucumber and cabbage were great. The vegetables were good - I loved how they prepared the mushrooms and will be trying that at home! - Galbi: Really good. The taste profile was more balanced than other galbi I've had which were overly sweet; the scallions and sauce stand out here - Tartuffo and Espresso: I wish we had some explanation for this dessert, which is espresso poured over ice cream. We ate it quickly and it wasn't that great; however, when we let it sit and meld together, it was really good. - Drinks: my Gimlet was fantastic, my partner's Hurricane-like drink was good but didn't stand out. Non-food notes: - we had a reservation and were seated immediately - service is exemplary. Every restaurant should take notes from Holu! - pace of dinner was quick, but I was ok with it. All your food is cooked and served at table, and was very fresh! - music was at a good level without being distracted. I'd prefer a different music than what they played (smooth jazz versions of modern pop) but my partner liked it - the bathroom being in the mall is unideal but a huge deal at all in my mind.

    This was outstanding. At first, we were overwhelmed by the menu, but our dining experience was great. I did feel like they try to upsell us, which fine, just stand your ground. We ate here before a show at Radius and were happy we did.

    The hype is all true. If you’re a meat - lover, this is definitely the place for you. Superb staff, impeccable service. I had been waiting for months to go, and I was thoroughly impressed! The meat quality stood out to me. We got the Meatarian Package as a group. Favorite cuts were the A5 American wagyu and filet mignon (a la carte, separate). Usually A5 is too fatty for me, but the Dry Aged & Australian Wagyu & Domestic Wagyu cuts at HOLU had great texture and were just right, leaving you wanting more. The caramelization on the galbi was also really good. The beef tartare, caviar, and milk bread was excellent. And then soft serve with soy sauce caramel was a great way to end the meal. I will definitely come back!

    HOLU - trend decor, Interested and wide wine list, dry aged juicy cut - definitely live up to the hype. I like the tuna tartare was paired with yam chips. The complimentary bancha were simple but extremely tasty, great sides for the marble wagyu meat. Among all of them, the pickled cucumber and lotus roots were my favorites! A side note, we didn’t have a reservation and it was fully booked on Sunday night. However, HOLU offered a full dinner menu at the bar as long as you don’t mind stand and eat;)

    My husband and I came here for our anniversary and absolutely loved it! Our waiter was very knowledgeable, everything was grilled in a timely manner, the presentation was beautiful, and everything was delectable. I would come back again in a heartbeat. You definitely pay for the experience but well worth it for a special occasion Vegetarian options: More like pescaterian options, with a great seafood menu.

    Went there for my husband's birthday because he loves steak. Unfortunately, I don't eat beef. They were very accommodating and really sweet about it. Our server, Ting. was very attentive and incredibly friendly! The food was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the Epicure's Treasure (Meatarian Package) and I ordered the fish and seafood. All the sides that came with my husband's meal were incredible. The fish and seafood was very fresh and delicious as well. Really enjoyed everything about this restaurant! Definitely coming back.

    Loved Holu! We got the meat feast along with some sashimi, the tuna tartare and lobster fried rice. We also got two free desserts included for my fiancés birthday, ice cream and tiramisu. Everything was delicious and we left stuffed! Our favorite was the meats, especially the two dry aged cuts.

    At Holu you will find savory and rich flavors, a great variety of pickled vegetables and Kim chi dishes, and michelin-star-quality meat. The service at Holu is exceptional and the staff are very attentive. For those new to Korean cuisine, this is an excellent find.

    This was by far the most amazing dining experience I’ve ever had in the city. Very good price for the amount of food you get and the food is THE BEST in City!!!! I forgot what it was called but we got the Meatarian Omakase where you get the house selected fresh seafood, lobster fried rice, and 10 different kinds of steak including 2 pieces of A5 Kobe beef & prime lamb steak. They cook it in front of you. We will definitely be coming back.

    I can't even express how excellent the service was, it was pretty cool how we were served by couple others. The vibe was definitely there. We ordered the omakase. Everything tasted so good it just melted. Couldn't be more happier to walk in and go straight to the bar for a drink while waiting for table, great way to start the night off !

    Once you arrive your greeted at the door by friendly staff available to make reservations or check in from one previously made. Everything was decorated very well, high end. The wait staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The menu has several options, and the food cooked directly at the table. The food quality was amazing and I'd recommend the galbi. Would definitely go back.

    I'm not sure it's really necessary to explain how good this place is. Some of the best meat I have ever tasted, one second off the grill. One of the deals is the Butcher's Feast. The catch is everyone at your table has to order it. But it's a great value. It's like 4 courses of unreal meat (including the dry aged), and like 4 bluefin tuna omakase courses. The seafood treasure platter are fantastic, as is the house-made dessert and ice cream.

    I took my bf here for his birthday and it was such an amazing experience. The ambience was soft and intimate. The sea food was super delicious our server explained each sushi to us carefully so that we got that much better of an experience. The the meat was cooked in front of us giving us a wonderful aroma. We finished everything up with dessert and it was worth every penny. Definitely recommend and would come back again!

    Daughter brought me here for my birthday. We ordered The Steak Omakase also known as "Butcher's Feast" and i can't say enough. The cuts, the way they were prepared and the service that accompanied it were 5 Star, no exaggerating. Even the manager, in full formal ware, was attending our steaks at times.While you can imagine this is not your typical pricing, it ended up being an experience that lasted about 2 and a half hours and wont be forgotten. Not to mention the house cocktails were delicious. I would recommend to anyone, we had an amazing time.

    What can I say other than superb? From the hostess to the server assistants. Everyone carried themselves with the utmost professionalism but at the same time making us feel very welcome. Start to finish. And that’s just the staff. The food was just too good for words. I think he goes unsaid that most things are on the pricier side but worth every penny. We did the butchers feast and it was the perfect amount of food. Plus we added on 3oz of A5 Japanese wagyu. Possible the best thing I have ever tasted. Although it was expensive I will be back at some point. Just an overall wonderful experience from beginning to end.
