   Holu was such a fun experience! We went here for a birthday and it was the perfect amount of pomp and circumstance which accompanied the pre fixe menu option. Our server was very attentive and our "grill master" was superb and attended to all or our needs while she prepared each dish table side. The starter dishes were beautiful and so tasty. The cuts of steak that we sampled were all cooked perfectly and delicious! All around a very fun experience!

   Service was great, you are greeted warmly when you arrive. Decor is gorgeous! Huge quiet comfortable booths. We did the tasting and were wowed by all the courses. Beautiful delicious sushi, oysters, mussels! The steak cuts were all fabulous and cooked to perfection on the built in grill. What a fun time! It’s pricey but worth it!

   Food was okay, excellent service but the value isn’t great! You’ll probably feel hungry on the way out. Definitely recommend it for the presentation but that’s where it stops.

   We went for the first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The experience was AWESOME. The food was DELICIOUS and the staff was PHENOMENAL! Definitely will return. ITS A VIBE AND WE LOVED IT!

    A delightful way to experience different cuts of meat with a talented chef to guide you. Ben cooked everything perfectly. Our host, Leo was both gracious and fun. The interior feels fresh and modern and at the same time it seems like a timeless classic. We sampled many of the intriguing craft cocktails on the menu and each of them were deliciously well balanced.

    Holu was so amazing. It was such a great experience. It was pretty pricey, the crab cake was almost $40 and pretty small, but tasty. The service was top-notch, and the server and grill master were great. Drinks were fancy and pretty!

    Christmas dinner with friends has rarely been this good. The food was outstanding, the drinks while expensive, were worth the price. Might have been one of the best dining experiences we've had in years.

    Let me start out by saying that I own the responsibility of what happened on this night because I was not paying closer attention. What should have been an amazing night and amazing dining experience quickly became one of the worst nights I have ever had. We told our server LEO H exactly what we wanted which was the butcher special I think it was called for 2 people which was $268. Because we had additional to people, LEO he was going to add additional items so everyone can enjoy the meal. He was being so complimentary to my wife and my daughter who was celebrating her birthday. Leo was like I’m gonna make this the best night calling my daughter and wife queen just laying the service on thick. As he walked away he said so your getting the extravaganza and he said it twice and us not realizing that the extravaganza was a $398 special on the other side of the menu. And when we finally figured out what had happened all Leo could say was I told you twice what I was ordering and you agreed and we have you on camera proving it and he proceeded to point his figure in our booth to show us the camera video taping the whole thing. The bill ended up being $732 for something that we did not order. I truly hope the leadership at this establishment doesn’t train their servers to be so deceptive! I felt bad because everything else would have been so perfect. The other lady who’s did all the work was amazing. The management tried to make an attempt to fix the situation by giving us a $78 voucher for our next visit. Unfortunately we felt like we were so scammed that we will never go back. So if you go to here and Leo is your server I would recommend that you ask for someone else and hold on to your wallet….

    The host (Leo I think his name was) was amazing. Made us feel like royalty and made sure we understood how everything worked. Enjoyed learning about the different cuts of steak. And the lobster fried rice smacked!!! Make sure you get that. The overall experience was great!

    Holu is amazing. We ordered the extravagant feast option - you get so much food. Seafood tower, sushi, steak… all excellent. Really a great experience with a surprising variety of steak options.

    HOLU is 100% professional on Steak & Sushi!!! All types of wagyu cuts along with dry aged prime cuts highlighted the dinner!!! Sushi masters art work boosted our satisfaction at the end of dinner!!! There are still lots of treasures and properties waiting for exploring at HOLU.

    I decided to make some last minute dinner date plans for my birthday, and let me tell you, HOLU did not disappoint. I went with the Meatarian Project #1-Butcher's Feast. The meats are all of extreme quality, and are prepared perfectly. The accompaniments were amazing. The side dishes were perfect. The house seafood dry pot, the daily special sushi creations, the American wagyu, and the marinated short rib (Prime Galbi Set) took the highlight for me. All of this coupled with a super attentive, sweet server and staff made this a great way to kick off my birthday!

    This is the gift that just keeps on giving. Our server Eddie took us on a journey through beef and I enjoyed every moment. Service is impeccable and whether you choose wine pairings or a drink for their beautifully crafted cocktails menu, you will not be disappointed. The bar experience at HOLU is my favorite one in Chicago now! I cannot wait to go back. Get ready to be treated like royalty.

    Not your grandfather's steakhouse! Unbelievably delicious assortment of flavors and textures. In-house dry-aged steaks are probably the best in town, grilled at your table and served in small portions so you can try many different things. Service was impeccable. Great cocktails too. Already looking forward to my next visit.

    Holu is a place that deserves all of the praise it gets. Obviously the beef is the star of the show and the meatarian epicure's treasure is a pretty damn good bargain in Chicago city. But the banchan and sushi are much better than I ever would have expected. The seafood is one of the best in town as well. Service is excellent as you would expect from a place like this. Can't recommend enough.

    Quality of the meats are impeccable. The Carnival’s Project is the bang for your buck meal and awesome to share with your party, which includes 10 pieces steak from different portions (1oz for each). "dry aged, Australian wagyu, domestic wagyu, Japanese A5 Kobe beef". Service is top notch. If you’re early for your reservation, check out the bar by the entrance. It is awesome with lots of creative crafted cocktails and wine & spirits selections. Would come again!
