They have changed their lunch menu and I have to say the old menu was better... If you are looking for a poolside grill this is the place otherwise you may want to consider something else
The service was slow but very nice! I wasn't sure about my drink order and the server nicely said that the bar would happily take it back if I didn't like it, and more importantly, she remembered to check with me after I'd had the chance to taste it and she repeated the offer.
The burger was awesome and a pretty good deal. The Lau Lau was fine, but not memorable. Get the burger instead!
Pretty setting by a pool. We were there on a windy night, so a bit chilly, but you could tell it would be lovely in the daytime.
Even though it wasn't busy, we still had a bit of a wait throughout our meal. Food is always good but all dishes are within a certain price range where I feel some dishes should cost less than was charged. Also, specials should not cost so much more than a premium entree. I'm noticing a price upwards of $12 - $15 over higher priced entrees
Great food and service - fun for the family! They gave us a great table around a fire pit.
This is a pool side resort/hotel restaurant. Servers were very friendly, which was the best aspect of the experience. Food was so-so, not at all in line with the prices. Not the best coconut shrimp we’ve had at all. Crab cakes were likely frozen prepared and nothing special. The fresh catch fish was the best thing we had. They don’t seem to know what a Caesar salad is, despite it being on the menu for a rather steep price, even by island standards. It was mixed romaine and butter lettuce with onions, tomatoes and Italian dressing. We had a better salad on the airplane trip from the mainland.
Staff was very nice but service slow. Food was terrible. We went for breakfast and everything was stone cold. Nothing worse than cold breakfast food, eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast, stone cold. We would have sent our breakfast back but the service was so slow we didn’t want to wait. Consequently we only ate one meal there as there were lots of choices that were better and close to the property. Am bummed because I used an open table reward and felt it was wasted.
Service was good. Very casual but the food was a good mix despite being “poolside”
Our server Bailee was great. Food was awesome. The grounds at Koloa Landing is beautiful!
We have been there twice now. The first time everyone enjoyed the meal so we tried a few days later for a 2nd go.
We were very disappointed this time. Like the first time the crab cakes came out ice cold. Their excuse well we don’t want to burn the outside so why bother if you don’t know how to cook properly.
The fish stew was terrible. Small shrimp , the king crab claws were pieces so small you could not even open them to get meat out. They were the very tips of the claw.
The mussels were the size of cat fish just too big too enjoy and the clams were the size of pin heads
Not a place for fine dining. I live in Kauai and every where is casual but unless you just went swimming you might be over dressed.
total disappointment from whatever metric you choose to use. Didn't order drinks or appetizers and felt like we paid the price in terms of poor service for the remainder of the dinner . Won't go there again.
We had a very enjoyable dinner. Service was great, food reasonable for a hotel / Resort property. The quality of the food was pretty good. The burger is the best!!
We checked this place out for lunch. The place is a little hard to find, but worth the effort. It’s just a poolside building in the midst of a condominium development, so nothing fancy, but nice surroundings. We found the hostess and our waitress to be very pleasant and helpful. My son and I had their spin on a classic burger with tomato jam. It was excellent. The fries were great. My wife enjoyed a pesto shrimp flatbread. We will definitely be back.
Treston was our server and he was fantastic. The food was also delicious but the service was really the differentiator.
We have been there several times. The food is always good and the service is exceptional. We each have our menu favorites and have tried many specials. We will continue to dine there, at least 2 - 3 times a week.
Overall I would rate Holoholo, which is one of the newer restaurants in the Poipu area, as pretty good but not great. I had the seafood stew, similar to a Cioppino. but the tomato base was just fair. The seafood in it was quite good. My wife had a papaya salad which she also rated as fair. Service was good. Pricing ok but not especially good.
This restaurant I’m sure would be great if you were staying at koloa landing. We were in the mood for a nice dinner with good food and ambiance and this is a by the pool restaurant - loud and very very casual. I’m sure lunch is good. I had a Cobb salad and it was fine. The waiter was wonderful. Overall not a fan.
Locations is beautiful. Great service. ThE food was lousy and expensive.
Food was good, great if you're in the area. Restaurant has nice music and beautiful setting
Delicious light meal with live music. 🥗🎤
Food is good. Service is good--though twice when we've been there our wine has been forgotten. Enough said that we've been there three times in the last two weeks!
We've eaten here three times in the last three months--food is good. Poke (signature dish) is great; flat breads tasty; hamburger very satisfying--one of the best we've had. Go for the apple cobbler for dessert. Service can be slow, then rushed and our wine was forgotten twice--too bad, we would have had a second glass if we'd gotten the first one in a timely manner. Live music is loud enough to make conversation with your dining companions very difficult. It was a relief when it stopped though we know a lot of people enjoy live music. This is Kauai--it rains, frequently. The covers on the patio leak. Don't start your meal 'outside' if it looks like rain. But on a sunny day or warm evening--lovely to sit in outdoor restaurant and eat good food.
Excellent meal and great food, good service, nice resort restaurant that doesn't feel like you're in a lobby (because you aren't).
Service this night wasn't great, very weird Because the night before it was excellent
Fantastic shrimp and crab cake starter, the star of the day was Mahi-Mahi, grilled. Exquisitely prepared. Live music loud and off key, spoilt the ambience, try and sit far away.
Wonderful experience and great meal! Coffee rub steak was superb! Much better than we expected looking at the menu and online. Thoroughly impressed with quality of meal! Service was good too this time
Coffee rub steak was excellent! Our service was excellent loved her! She was a pro! Great first experience at this restaurant and after a day of travel it was nice to have a restaurant get everything right even with our dietary restrictions and requests for custom stuff. We will be back many times!
Not at all what we expected from a Sam Choy establishment. Dinners came out cooked incorrectly and the "hot" sides were iced cold. Nothing like cold mashed potatoes to ruin a meal. To their credit when we did express our dissatisfaction with the meals, they were removed from the bill.
Amazing food. Bit of a walk through a very nice resort. Next to pool area. Great everyday dining place
We shared the cobb salad, steak flatbread and the guava ribs appetizer. All were tasty, the fish dishes looked great, will try those next time.
We ate here for dinner and a bar lunch. THe food was surprisingly very good. The coconut shrimp was great. The flatbreads and salad were wonderful! I'd definately go back here.
Service was very slow. 2 of the 3 fish meals were dried out.
Everything was fine except for the fact they over cooked the fish
Last week we booked a table for 4 on OpenTable.
We ordered several items to share family style and loved every one of them.
Particularly the Coconut Shrimp is to die for!
The farm tomato salad was good
We tried the fish - catch of the day and that was good too.
Since my daughter had a birthday, they brought her a cake on the house.
Portion size is a bit small and a bit pricey. But totally worth it for any special occasion
We were warned that the service was slow and Christmas, but even then food cold, very slow for drinks. Could have been Christmas factor, but think should have been better planned for a resort. Better choices
Very poorly managed. Did not have one piece of fish in stock at 7 in the evening. Service terrible. Would never recommend. Sitting at bar for a drink is about it.
Spent Christmas dinner here with my family and we highly enjoyed it. Their Poke bowls were fresh and tasty, and I had their pasta special with mahi mahi. You could tell that they prepared their dishes with Sam Choy's pedigree.
Hotel restaurants are not always the best place to dine. The Holoholo is an exception. The food was awesome-well prepared and delicious. The service by all staff was great and special thanks to Autumn Rose who is sweet, beautiful, and service friendly. The desserts were out of this world-probably the best dessert menu I’ve seen in many years.
Excellent poke! Nicoise salad and Mahi Lau Lau great too. Beautiful presentation.
Excellent in every way: food, service & ambiance!
