Nice setting, liked the background music. Wish we’d found it sooner in our trip!
A typical Sam Choy restaurant
Good food, good value
It all depends on the occasion. This is merely an extension of an open bar space that sells food. We checked in for dinner rather early at 5:30 p.m. Being that we (announced) were celebrating our wedding anniversary, we asked to seat in a quiet location. The hostess escorted us to a nice quite place BUT seated us at a tiny table not quite enough for two persons. The place was empty and I told the hostess that I would rather seat else-where and not on a tiny "toy" table. She said that the she had a lot of reservations to fill … but she would check. As such we got a table nearby. But, we were there for a couple of hours and we noticed that the "lot of reservations" never happened -- as the hostess claimed. Well, had we not been granted better seating we would have left immediately.
Luckily the server was great, the food was good, and my wife and I enjoyed our dinner together. Again, would I recommend Holoholo Grill to a "friend"....it all depends on the occasion.
To my surprise it was a pool bar grill. The concierge at our hotel recommended it as a good place to get a burger. The waiter was not attentive for It not being busy at all. We sat without drink refills for a very long time. We ordered coconut shrimp hit never recorded it.
The food came out in a fair amount of time. The burger was food but eh onion rings were not hot at all.....
My husbands ribeye was Ok he said. It came out with asparagus, a glop of potatoes and some green paste.
The chef did come to the table to ask about the food. We told him we didn’t get the shrimp and he was surprised. Asked us to retune for dinner s the shrimp would be on him. However, we don’t return to the same place on vacation. Too many other places to visit.
Delicious food. Great service and loved the pool ambiance at night. Surrounded by the tiki lights, and sounds of the waterfalls.
This is a pool bar, not a dinner restaurant. Was surprised when hostess seated customers with bathing suits, no shirts for dinner. At least the customers looked at those of us seated and put their shirts on. Perfect for lunch!!
Limited food selections on the menu. The food we ordered was bland, warm not hot and few vegetables in the stir fry. The bottle of Hahn Pinot Noir was served very warm. We would not recommend this restaurant.
Oh my god! The breakfast was just amazing! We ordered 4 different breakfast choices as well as 2 types of smoothies, and every bite was heaven! Also, the ambiance and visual presentation of the food was top notch!
Disappointing and will not return. We ordered two drinks to start and while one arrived quickly it took nearly 40 min for them to bring the other. The server was apologetic and friendly but the restaurant didn't look to be that busy. Food was average, especially given the high prices.
Pricy for what we had.
Ahi was over cooked.
Flat bread was good
Food, service and waitress were excellent. Had lunch, will go back for dinner.
Excellent food and service
Excellent food. Funky location next to the resort's pool. Also a sports bar which was boisterous. Very casual. Younger crowd.
Great service from the team, and oh my goodness gracious POKE!! I tried it and I liked it! Nice place, deep in a resort space so don't expect to pull up outside. Good selection of wines.
Excellent fresh fish and food, from the appetizers to the dessert!
There for my sons bday. Hostess was very helpful and there when we needed things. They gave my son a free dessert for his bday
Poor service. Appetizer came very late and arrived long after the main course.
The waitress finally ready the waitress she shoved the plate on the table without saying a word.
Disapointing but so many other nice places to go to!
Highly recommend as the food was excellent. Price was fair
I had the fish and chips and it was good but not remarkable. My wife really loved her Asian bowl. It had lo mein noodles, fresh caught fish and shrimp and a really good thai peanut sauce. The server was nice, but it was a bit busy so the water refills were a little slow, but not to the point that we were irritated.
My church has a breakfast once a month and Holoholo Grill is very accommodating and the food is excellent!
The service was slower than I expected. Food was good. I would still go again.
Excellent food, great service, friendly servers, and it's in Hawaii! What more could you ask for?
Great place to eat!
Poolside location with great food and service!
We all felt like the food was only sub par for the price. Ribs and coconut prawns were amazing as starters but the entrees were blah. Swordfish sandwiches lacked flavor. Ramen bowls were $24 but neither of us ate the pork as it was rubbery and tough and the broth needed seasoning. The burger was yummy, we all should have ordered that. Basically too expensive for the quality.
Tha avacado toast is to die for! Outstanding food! Great property and excellent service!!!
The food at Holoholo grill is so delicious! We had breakfast there and everything was amazing! Be sure to try the green smoothie! It’s delicious! Service was a bit slow but then again this is Hawai’i and I’m from the east coast where everyone is in a rush! I will definitely return to and highly recommend Holoholo Grill!!
Great service. Asian bowl excellent.
Great option for in resort dining. The macadamia crusted swordfish was excellent.
Overall a great experience! Kind people and delicious food!
We found this place on Open Table and reviewed the menu. We opted to visit based on the pictures provided of the food and dining area. It was myself and my husband my two teenage kids and one teenage friend. My husband and I had the burger, my daughter had the blue cheese salad, and the friend had the caprese flatbread and my son had the Asian bowl. Everything was good except the Asian bowl which they comped from the ticket even though we didn’t ask them too. The dining room is outside so be careful of rain. Our server wasn’t very friendly but the hostess and the manager were very nice. Overall it was good food and acceptable prices.
My eggs were not cooked correctly so sent back. Still not good. Toast and potatoes not great. Would not order again. The server tried to make it right by giving me a juice.
We also tried a club sandwich for lunch. Waited a long time for a club sandwich. It was also not very good. Server was good.
The drinks are fine, but not impressed with the food which is too bad since the restaurant is on the property. We much preferred La Spezia and Paco’s Tacos.
The food is average “pub grub.” We went here because it was less expensive than the restaurants at the Hyatt. If you’re looking for a burger and a beer, this is not a bad choice. But it is by no means above average in my opinion. Wait staff very friendly!
We love HoloHolo Grill for a light (or heavy) meal. During summer reservations are a must. Pool side restaurant, casual and don't be surprised by dripping people in bathing suits walking through the tables to the bar! Be prepared for a somewhat limited menu, but all the basics are covered. Wish they would bring back the Mediterranean flat bread. . .
Fathers day brunch. We had mothers day brunch here this year and it was so good we came back for the father!
Below average food at typical Hawaii prices. Convenient if you're staying at the hotel but with so many good restaurants around don't waste your time here.
Overall very good! Caveat, this is not a romantic setting. It's a resort poolside restaurant with the sounds and sights of such. Very good food and service with reasonable prices.
Food was very good We ate there twice on our vacation. For resort dining, I thought the prices were reasonable for the area.
Enjoyed the pesto and shrimp flatbread. Unusual but outstanding combination. Serve rolls fresh tomatoes and reparations and ride slots are already
The restaurant was advertised as affiliated with Sam Choy so we thought it would be worth a try. The setting was unexceptional ( think pool bar) with uninspired food to match. The coconut shrimp were over done and the fish under done . Defiantly not worth the trip.
This was our first time to Holoholo Grill, we enjoyed our meal and the service was very nice. We will be back.
