Farm-to-table
Deliciously imaginative food prepared from local ingredients and served with warm Bluegrass hospitality in a beautiful 1840s-era country home. We are now serving our four course prix fixe Fall Racing Dinner Menu which features dishes made with local produce and meats and fresh seafood from Florida and beyond. Brunch is served every weekend and includes our classic Eggs Bluegrass Benedict and omelets made with local Stone Fall Farm eggs and Stone Cross Farm sausage and Shrimp and Grits. We are proud to be part of the Ouita Michel Family of Restaurants and a frequent James Beard Awards nominee. The Holly Hill Inn has been featured in publications such as Garden and Gun, Southern Living and the N.Y. Times!

Went to Holly Hill Inn for a birthday dinner. The building is charming, our waitress Shanessa was wonderful, food was A.MAZ.ING! We will for sure be making the journey back.
Only disappointment was the menu the night we went was different than was posted online, but that could be my own comprehension error. Didn't matter, food was still outstanding!!

We had a friend in from out of town and decided to try Holly Hill for the first time on a Saturday night. They were serving the midwinter menu when we visited. Overall, the food was incredible. Two of us had the Brussels sprouts and pork belly salad for the first course. It was very salt, but everything else we tried was great (jumbo prawn and risotto, red snapper, and duck).

The service left a bit to be desired, though. I worked in the service industry for well over a decade. Our server never introduced himself, seemed to struggle opening a bottle of wine, only asked once if he could refill our wine glasses (after we had already pour more ourselves), and just generally seemed distracted. For a restaurant that has received a James Beard award for front of house, I was kind of disappointed in the service.

New Years Eve at Holly Hill is always a delight. Seven courses paired with a wine flight is always interesting and exceptional. Ouita and her staff are personable and provide great service.

Had been there before for dinner a few times and the menu/food was outstanding. Would probably come again for this type of dining, not necessarily for a occasion such as New Years. The $100 per person was quite expensive, it would have been nice to be able to have a regular meal, order off the menu what we wanted and then a little splurge on a different wine or two for the same amount if not a little less expensive.

It was also very noisy, as I understand you all were packed, but it was still noisy. Our service was just OK, not necessarily the waitress fault, I just think she was trying to do too much for the room we were in and she could not take care of everyone like she wanted. Needed 2 people for the room we were in.

The food was OUTSTANDING which made the visit really good. Thank you.

This has become my go-to for birthdays and anniversaries. After dining on these occasions at Holly Hill, everyplace else seems disappointing. This was my first time for lunch, and as usual, everything was outstanding! I took my mother and daughter and everyone had a wonderful meal. Dining at Holly Hill makes even a lunch seem like a special occasion. We will definitely return!

Absolutely wonderful place to go. We drove from Louisville on a sunny day which was quite pleasant. Restaurant easy to find and directly off expressway. Food was outstanding. We split the appetizer. Both my wife and I had the salad. Fresh greens and homemade dressing-orange juice, vinegarette and honey. She had the cod and puff pastry and I had the butternut squash risotto. Both were exceptionally good. The Inn is a transformed older home built in 1845 with quaint atmosphere . It was quiet and relaxing. We had the three-course lunch for $25 each ,which we believed was exceptional value. Will definitely will go there again.

My friends and I enjoyed a lovely Christmas brunch at Holly Hill Inn. The food is exceptional as is the ambiance.
The music was appropriate to the season, however the quality of the musicians (dulcimer, violin) and their voices was surprisingly low. In an area with so much talent, that was a low point in our experience. A host visited our table to ask us to leave as we were finishing our coffee...also a surprise since we were not informed of a time limit when we made our reservation! Since Holly Hill is open from 11 to 2, I’m accustomed to a long, leisurely brunch and expected the table to be ours until we were ready to leave...but I understand that the Christmas season is a busy time and the request is excusable.

The first thing this establishment should do is have signage put up that indicates you are headed in the right direction. Everyone has a first time going there, and unless you are from the near-immediate area, a GPS does little good when you aren't familiar with the town, and are not expecting to finally find it hidden in a residential area up behind a convenience store on a dark street.

We enjoyed the 3-course Christmas season offerings, first sharing a single appetizer plate which offered just enough to whet one's appetite. My husband enjoyed a first course of veal sweetbreads and I had the winter salad which was very attractive and flavorful. I chose the Fluke dish which was outstanding; he had the Choucroute Garni which was underwhelming, but okay. Still being new to Kentucky and never having eaten Kentucky jam cake before, I chose it and my husband had the Cheery-cherry trifle for dessert. Both were excellent .

Six girlfriends in our group enjoyed the beautiful Christmas decor and live dulcimer music. Holly Hill Inn is quiet and quaint unlike a normal restaurant setting. Every course was unique, delicious, and beautifully presented. Service was excellent, and we did not feel rushed. Excellent choice for a lovely Christmas lunch.

We visited Holly Hill Inn to celebrate my husband's birthday. This was my third visit to Holly Hill Inn, but the first visit for my husband and two college-age children. When they first saw Holly Hill Inn, which was decorated with Christmas lights, they were stunned. They felt that they were underdressed for the restaurant. Then, they came to realize Holly Hill Inn welcomes everyone and that looks are not at all important as long as one appreciates good food! Each of us ordered a different combination of dinner so that we could taste everything :) Every meal we had was fantastic with excellent flavors and exquisite presentation. Without a doubt, this is one of the best restaurants in Kentucky and the South.

A charmingly rustic atmosphere, a perfect setting for dining on a late fall evening. The cuisine, from a name-worthy appetizer to fresher-than-fresh salad to delicately prepared entree (halibut over imaginatively stuffed cabbage), to winner desserts, was as superb as one has come to expect f6omr Chef Michel and her team.
