We chose Holdren's for our 43rd wedding anniversary because of it's reputation, and the fact that we've tried another local big name steakhouse and were not at all impressed. This was impressive. We pre-browsed the menu on-line, so pretty much had a good idea of what we wanted. We showed up early for our reservation, figuring we'd chill at the bar, but we were shown directly to our table. Our waiter was on it right away, courteous and efficient, but not overbearing. My wife chose the chateaubriand and I had the macadamia nut crusted halibut. Both were excellent and done to perfection (of course we shared). The drinks were spot on and the wine was well matched and priced. A shared creme brulee topped the dinner off as a very nice ending. Dinner wasn't cheap, but then it cost far less than we had braced for. Definitely will be looking at this for our 44th (if not sooner).

Food was great, stellar. But the tables were fairly close to each other, so that it wasn't loud, but you were definitely talking over the table next to you. Additionally, the wait staff was incredibly nice and respectful, but they only came around once every 15 minutes. So, it took forever just to get drinks and food ordered.

Food was outstanding as well as the service…everything was perfect! We were a party of 8 and were seated in the private room with another large party and everyone was so friendly…definitely get the s’mores especially if you have kids with you…they were entertained with the s’mores while the adults had more cocktails

The service was great! The food was delicious. I got the 16oz ribeye and baked potato; it was so yummy! My partner got the 6oz filet and asparagus; the filet was absolutely delicious. I made reservations and they put us in a room with 3 other tables which was amazing. We were able to have an intimate dinner together and enjoy each other’s company without the disturbance of all the commotion of other people.

The food has incredible taste! Everything was scrumptious with irresistible flavor and texture. Server was lost. Things like clearing your table to checking in with us was severely lacking BUT did I tell you about how tasty everything was?! Lol!

Our kids wanted to take us out and suggested Holdren’s a local steakhouse in Newbury Park. Excellent service, excellent staff, excellent value. Blake the owner welcomed us and made sure our evening was specials. We will be back!

Restaurant is located in a strip-ish mall near a mall of other restaurants and a hotel, so not the ideal area. Décoration once inside is fine with plenty of care and thought invested. Food is ok to good (delicious Tomato Basil Soup, good filet mignon steak, fair but largely tasteless garlic potatoes but portion was generous) but for this price level, sorry I expect better, they can do better, and their are better restaurant choices, like Maestros. We spent 186 for two people with 1 dinner each and a bottle of wine, no starters or deserts and including tip Charging additional 3USD for a bread service (basic bread that tasted fresh enough but nothing special) when you are paying 40-100USD/person for a dinner and 50-250+USD for bottled wine is classless and pathetic. To their credit, our waiter brought bread and didn't charge us when I mentioned this, but pls, for this class of restaurant, this should be obvious and included.

Hadn't been here in years, we had a table for 10 ppl and called ahead to see if the could do separate checks, they said their max is to split it up to 5 checks. That was fine so we paired up. Everything was pretty good on service and food. Personally, was disappointed in my ribeye. I've tasted better and felt like the mushroom sauce was supposed to cover up something. I would recommend it on the side next time.

I ordered the Baked Sea Bass. The artichoke and mushroom sauce was delicious but the fish was awful - tough, tasteless, it even looked unappetizing. Never again.

The ambiance, food quality, service, friendliness and personal touch were all spectacular. The perfection, however, came to an abrupt end when I used your restroom. It was filthy, smelled, and most concerning of all, had the countertop cleaning products mixed with the toilet cleaning products on the floor under the sink next to a toilet plunger. This was very disconcerting and caused me to question the hygienic standards of the kitchen tables, etc. It was very disappointing given the exceptionality of everything else. I'm not certain the health department wouldn't also be concerned with your operating procedures related to the restroom.
