Our menu has been designed to work with ingredients that are sourced locally at the peak of their season. Our kitchen prepares each element from scratch, using techniques that have been around for generations. Techniques that ensure you will see and taste each ingredient and remember your meal, long after you leave the table. Our menu is designed to be shared with family and friends as we believe in the importance of connections over food.
Highly recommend going here. Lovely venue, excellent service and delicious food.
Unfortunately, the crew were off their game the day we had lunch at Hogget's Kitchen. Some of the food was amazing but some was poor (almost inedible) and it disappoints me to have to say that! I love this place and have always had AMAZING food in the past. I don't think the head chef was in the kitchen on the day...pasta was well under-cooked, food lacked seasoning (salt), and the dishes didn't have the same finesse. So Disappointed!
On a busy day the service and food were fabulous once again!
Very enjoyable. Good food. Good service. Good setting.
Despite terrible weather the views are spectacular and great to know the food is locally sourced and made on site. Loved the fact that a native bush food garden is underway.
Had a wonderful lunch to spend time with my husband as we had been very busy
The dining experience was every bit as good as rumoured! A funky building in the midst of the vineyard and views across the valley from a table by the window. Food and wine of course were the main event, served by skilled an friendly staff. We even got to meet the guy who wears that chef's hat. Well done Trevor, Anne and all!
We had a wonderful afternoon, and have already recommended you to family and friends. We'll be back for more.
I feel so fortunate to have this amazing restaurant so close to home. I’ve been here for weddings, family celebrations, business meetings, romantic date nights & quiet meals for one, and it never disappoints. Congratulations to Trevor, Jess & the team on their recent awards. Keep up the great work.
A very calm, warm and inviting location that instantly makes you feel relaxed. Trev and his team never disappoint with the food on offer an amazing experience in itself, my friends and I are definitely becoming regulars.
Outstanding food and wine, great service by the staff, will be sure to return
Phenomenal food, very attentive staff and an amazing atmosphere. Will definitely return.
Amazing experience. Trevor has done an incredibly job with the menu and restaurant as a whole, Highly recommend the "Let Trev cook for you" option.
This was my first time at Hogget Kitchen and I was blown away.
The food was so light and fresh and full of flavour.
Very good value for money and I would highly recommend to friends and family.
We sat next to the window and the view looking out was beautiful.
The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and food being served.
First experience at Hogget kitchen and it did not disappoint! Had a wonderful Saturday lunch for my mother-in-law's birthday. We brought our 3.5yo child, who usually doesn't last very long in restaurants, however the waitresses were so lovely and offered to bring drawing paper and pens after he had finished his meal. They even went so far as to freshly squeeze some orange juice at his request! I could enjoy the beautiful food, wine and views with my husband and mother-in-law. As it was lunch, we had starters and entrees alongside freshly baked bread and the Hogget Merlot. Everything tasted amazing and it was so nice to know that the majority of the food is locally sourced. Very happy to pay that little bit more knowing that we were eating good wholesome food!
Hogget's Kitchen is a wonderful dining experience, where the creatively composed dishes, contain the highest quality, local ingredients - quality that you can taste. The wine selection is excellent (including some grapes and vintages from local wineries I didn't know, but loved trying). The setting is perfect in gorgeous South Gippsland and the service is friendly. I would love to go back and enjoy a wine and more food on their wonderful deck with the view over the rolling hills covered in vines. A really wonderful dining experience, worth going out of your way for.
Beautiful venue looking over rows of vines & surrounding countryside. Food very enjoyable with a number of light choices and six or so mains. Trout entree very light on trout heavy on the gelee. Rib Eye steak for $100 for 600 grams was a little expensive and the portion size light on especially given much of it is bone. Still very tasty. Reasonable selection of wines predominantly from the local area. Overall very pleasant experience.
The best breakfast experience in recent memory. Amazing.
Dining at Hogget Kitchen is a true dining experience. I will always choose the "Let Trev cook for you" menu option. There's no other way to dine there. Each course is exceptional and together make a memorable meal. The wine list is also exceptional with the naturally fermented sauvignon blanc is one of the best wines I have ever tasted. I am always looking for excuses to dine at Hogget Kitchen.
Food was delish. Waitress was lovely, the waiter was not. Arrogant and rude but efficient.
One of our party found a hair in the food and asked for another serving .
It was slow to return and the serving was only half the size of the original.
Walked away still hungry and not satisfied.
No complaints about the food though.
Had Trev's set meal including the Cheese. Lamb was fatty and greasy. Cheese @ $10 per person and there were 6 of us - absolute rip off cheese was boring and a very small portion. Very disappointing. Unlikely to go back.
Absolutely love dining at Hogget Kitchen. The attention to flavour is always excellent. We had Trev cook for us and enjoyed five courses of delicious, well thought out dishes. A favourite of ours being the snacks of swede empanadas, the rabbit parfait and smoked Noojee trout on blinis. Our main of roast lamb was also delightful. A bottle William Downie Pinot being the perfect accompaniment for the meal. We shall be back soon.
Wonderful service and outstanding food. Have already told friends
Yet again a fabulous meal with tremendous service on a busy day! An amazingly consistent restaurant experience.
Food, ambience...and value for money..overall just great.
We selected the 5 course menu which allowed us to taste what was on offer. So glad we did. Food presented beautifully. The food was amazing. The location and amenties were great. Recommend without question.
Awesome venue, awesome food , awesome Chef!...........
Lunch was super. Beautiful rabbit risotto. Preceded by the charcuterie plate which was equally great.
Love the nose to tail approach. Beautiful setting as well.
A delightful dining experience!
Attended Hogget Kitchen for Fathers' Day breakfast. Wonderful local produce used, friendly service even when it was really busy. Views are amazing and the cookbook collection is worth perusing. Really enjoy eating here
As usual, a delicious meal, showcasing wonderful local produce. So many simply beautiful choices on the menu, including for our vego person, with everyone at our table very happy with their selection. Loved the lamb, the trout, the side with brussels sprouts, the citrussy dessert, the Holy Goat cheeses!
A great lunch - terrific food, lovely wine, very good service and a fabulous outlook!
Absolutely amazing thanks so much to our friends who gave us the birthday voucher we’ll be back next time during daylight so we can appreciate the view!!
I have dined here a few times now. Amazing team of chefs and a fantastic culinary experience as always. Love the care and passion that goes into each and every dish.
Firstly the staff were welcoming and our seating arrangement was very pleasant for a party of five. Next the atmosphere within the building is crisp, efficient, light and warm. The service provided to our table was spot on without intrusion, friendly but efficient as well. The menu had great choices using locally scoured produce and each of us tried something different and were delighted with the standard of fare. We tried two different wines that complemented our food and the fact that we were able to hear our conversations made for a very long pleasant stay. The scenery too is an added bonus and as we visited mid winter very green. We shall come back again to try the seasonal changes to both the vista and the menu.
If Hogget was what you'd always find at the end of a meandering lane, then life would be pretty darned good. Wonderful setting was the perfect companion for a lovely meal. Beautifully presented, the entreé was an ideal size where each mouthful presented you with the most subtle of tastes. The trout main was a remarkably generous fillet for a freshie, and the spinach wrapped veal was the perfect winter fare - especially on its rich cassoulet base. As for the quince tarte tartin? Spectacular.
Informative, friendly service
Half Bottles available (this is SO refreshing to see Australian winemakers embracing demi bottles)
The 2016 Pinot was perfect
The whipped burnt butter is absolutely to die for!!!
Loved everything about this place, a very special experience.
Venue was easy Tom locate, staff welcomed us at the door, seated quickly. Food and drink service was paced well. Staff were very attentive. Food was exceptional. Certainly will be back again
Date night for hubby and I - 10/10 food wine service
