Our menu has been designed to work with ingredients that are sourced locally at the peak of their season. Our kitchen prepares each element from scratch, using techniques that have been around for generations. Techniques that ensure you will see and taste each ingredient and remember your meal, long after you leave the table. Our menu is designed to be shared with family and friends as we believe in the importance of connections over food.
Beautiful views, relaxing atmosphere, great service by all staff and kitchen is very accommodating to food intolerances. Will continue to visit on a regular basis.
Stunning food, views, wine. Great atmosphere. Lots of local produce used in the menu.
Thanks for another fabulous evening - food was beautiful, and as always, was matched by service
Unfortunately our lamb was tough and difficult to eat and we were disappointed in the “shared plate” dessert. Staff were extremely “rushed” trying desperately to keep up with customers who were coming and going through “multiple” rotational “sittings.” Perhaps things might be different on another night when there is no “set” menu. In the end we felt rushed on a night when we should have been able to relax and enjoy our meal and the fabulous surroundings.
As a thank you to a couple of close friends we took them for lunch at Hoggett Kitchen. We went with the Chefs choice and enjoyed the most delicious meal without having to make any decisions ourselves and we were not disappointed. We had 5 different courses, all equally delicious, I could not pick a favourite but the kangaroo pastrami, the roast lamb, the risotto, not forgetting the dessert with Gippsland Jersey house made ice cream were all to die for. Everything was fresh and very moreish, so much so that we booked to come back for dinner in a couple of weeks.
Great Food, Great service & friendly staff! Trev is amazing at what he does definitely will be back!!
I love Hogget Kitchen. Great food, great wine, lovely aspect.
Food was magnificent, however we sat in the window and it was fairly hot sitting in the sun
First time we've been.
One of the best steaks I have had in a long time - perfectly cooked.
Wine list was interesting and a little out of the ordinary which is fantastic - including beers and other drinks. Really good.
Loved the location, set-up, etc.
Only slight negative was that it was an extremely hot day and we are in a window seat. We melted and no-one had thought to drop the blinds or ask if it was too hot - a/c was not handling the heat very well. We asked to move and looked at a vacant table and were told it wasn't made up in such a way that we didn't feel comfortable asking if it could be made up - it would have taken a minute to do and was quite an unfriendly way to handle the situation. We got moved to somewhere else that best suited the service manager.
The food was amazing. The vegetables were seasoned delightfully along with the meats. The flavours melded well together and was very tasty. Was definitely worth the experience. The scenery is absolutely stunning. It was such a beautiful view, the vineyards against the blue sky and the wooden interior was calming and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Lovely food and good service. Great spot and very scenic.
Lovely staff, lovely food, lovely venue. We could see the chef cooking up a storm, with efficient assistance. It was great night.
Most enjoyable evening. Would like to see 300-350gram steak on the menu. Eye fillet 250gm was big enough for me, but Wayne would have liked something in between this and the 600gm rib. But it was otherwise great food again and will be back, keep up the work team Hogget! Cheers Jeanette and Wayne.
We went with the "Let Trev cook for you" menu item. We had an amazing 6 courses. Easch course was presented beautifully, explained well by either the wait staff or Trev and tasted amazing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent. Food was beautiful, fresh and delivered to the table with a smile. Wait between courses was not excessive, nor was it delivered too quickly. Views from the restaurant are beautiful. Absolutely lovely. We will be eating here again.
Went for breakfast on Sunday morning. Food was fresh and local and service was friendly, courteous and professional. Would highly recommend.
Creative, local menu! Great variety, fresh and interesting options. Highly recommend!
Great service and interesting food in beautiful surroundings. Just a bit noisy.
Excellent food and service Head Chef Trev very personable and talented! Great experience already recommended it to several people.
Was a little disappointed. Took my partner out for her birthday and wasn’t too impressed. We both ordered medium rare steaks which both were done. There also needs to be better steak option. Instead of rump, it should be a porterhouse or t bone.
Will give it one more go in winter. Looked like it was understaffed.
On a positive the pumpkin was 10/10
Over rated over priced and limited menu. Sweets were great though. No dry ginger for mixed drinks, no low fat milk for coffee.
Went to Hogget Kitchen to celebrate a birthday. We had the$70pp let Trev cook for you and were very happy with all the food that came out. Delicious and we were all full by the end. I don't think we could have fit another course in. It was just the right amount of food. I also love that the ingredients are sourced from Gippsland. We would recommend going here.
We took a friend there for lunch and we were all very impressed with the food and service was great as well.
Drinks were local and very good and not expensive. We would definitely go again.
hoggets kitchen is in a beautiful setting only a few minutes drive from warragul. we sat in front of large windows overlooking the grape vines.
staff very professional. didnt rush us for our orders. however little flexibility in the menus. set price of 2 courses for $55 amd i was pressured to order a 2nd course when there wasnt any suitable choices for me. the staff did not offer any alternative suggestions to what was on the menu
food was average in taste but well presented. unfortunately not value for money
ordered tea and coffee but no skim or lite milk available and we dont enjoy the taste of whole milk
its a good place if you like lots of meat and are prepared to spend well above average prices. for me it was a disappointing experience
This is one of the best restaurants in West Gippsland ( Warragul) using innovative ideas around food sourced from the region which pleases us.
The menu is regularly updated to reflect the seasons and food available.Definitely a place that will please most.
Our annual Christmas lunch
Always delivers.Amazing cuisine sourcing exquisite local produce. It is local fine dining at its absolute best. We are very lucky as its in our neck of the woods.
We had a beautiful 5 course lunch prepared for us by Trev, highly recommend letting Trev decide what to eat. Beautiful views, exceptional service, great selection of beer and wine, we had a wonderful afternoon and definitely will be going back!
All in all a wonderful way to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary. Right up there with the best
Yes really enjoyed the whole dining experience at Hogget Kitchen, starts with excellently cooked food, rich in flavour, all grown on the property or sourced locally and everything flows from there. Best meal that I have enjoyed in ages. Well worth the trip to Warrigul. Compliments to the chefs and staff there they do a great job too.
Enjoyed a beautiful lunch and very well looked after. Wines are lovely. Its a celebration of food for a meat lover.
We enjoyed a great Christmas catch up lunch with friends at Hogget's Kitchen. Great food, wine, and ambience was enjoyed along with the best that Gippsland has to offer with its rolling green hills, great food and wine produced from the local area.
The food was good, staff very good.
The wine is to expensive and when you get a $50 bottle of shiraz (their cheapest) served cold and they wouldn't replace it with one from the shelf, it leaves you thinking might not come back.
Really enjoyed the food & bubbly, although would have liked more desert options. Found the vast display of raw meat on the front counter quite sickening. Staff really helpful, service great & worth the money. Had a great night & if food display on front counter was nicer, would have given a 5 star rating.
Best steak I’ve ever had gorgeous Smokey flavour. Wonderful fresh produce too.
We had a lovely meal, attentive service and the atmosphere was relaxing
It was a very busy day with lots of Christmas groups so probably a poor time to give a proper review. The staff handled the service very well in spite of a large crowd (they could have had one more serving)
The food was very good but needed a bit more explaining prior to ordering.
Wine list is fairly good with lots of local wines, but we ordered a French wine
The food could have had a "green" plate as an option for the main courses though.
All over it was quite pleasant and enjoyable and we will go back.
Love going here. Been for Brekky, lunch, dinner, fund raiser and soon work Christmas function.
Local produce at it’s best. Top quality ingredients combined with creative culinary expertise made for a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Service was attentive and our waiter’s understanding of the menu was comprehensive. Worth the trip out to Warragul for refreshingly good value, indulgent dining.
