Not very much a solo friendly environment. Food and drinks are good.
$1 oysters for happy hour! Great service and food. We had a party of 6 and felt very well taken care of.
$1 oysters - how can you go wrong? Great food, great service.
Everyone in my party of 7 enjoyed the food and the service was excellent.
The food was delicious so much so that it surprised me. The drinks were all creative and balanced, very well done. The waitress was kind and attentive. The only sad part of the evening was that we got there on time for our reservation and then had to wait half an hour for our table. After waiting that long for our table the kitchen forgot about us for the second course and it took twenty minutes for them to send out four oysters in a half empty house.
Great service. Pretty decor. Construction upstairs was kind of distraction. Lots of loud sounds above. The deviled eggs were the STAR of this meal. We got great whiskey recommendations and had two old fashions and one on the rocks. The oysters were fresh and delicious. The charcuterie plate was awesome. Our favorite was the one with the onion jam. We also got to try the chocolate bread pudding even though they stopped serving after brunch they still let us order it. All in all, will be back again. Deviled eggs!!!!
We went for the SF Restaurant week 3 course dinner and it was delicious. Each course paired with a bourbon cocktail that was well matched with the flavors.
We sat at the bar and the bartender and all staff people were friendly and efficient. Great spot that we would go back to.
Food and drinks are awesome
SF restaurant week - great service. Amazing food
Other than a dark & stormy that was made with light rum (and tasted odd), the meal and drinks were as great as they always are. The prices are a bit high, but quality is always top notch.
Post Theater informal Dining in Mission District. We went to the Roxie which is about five blocks away for dinner post-movie. Had reservations for 7pm, which was a good idea as it fills up rapidly after 7:20pm or so. Had their pig sampler (When Pigs Fly) which consists of proscuitto and serrano ham with warm flatbread. Split one of their fried chicken sandwiches - we're not 18 anymore so that was sufficient. Wound up taking half the pig sampler home. Forget the icebox cake - should be not rock-hard but somewhat closer to cool room temp, at least that's how I remember it from my childhood.
Service is friendly and good. Room can get VERY noisy during dinner hours. Definitely a young crowd and on the hip side, but us older folks are still welcome. Parking is terrible, so give yourself extra time. We came to a 5:15 movie showing so finding parking was much easier and then we just walked to theater and back to Hog 'n Rocks.
If you go early they have inexpensive oysters which are an excellent deal.
GREAT SPOT FOR TASTY MENU SPECIALTIES AND COCKTAILS!
We had a delicious dinner: the all ham "When Pigs Fly", the bone marrow and the Berkshire pork chop were yummy!! We'll be back soon.
Went there for the first time for dinner, happened to stumble upon a reservation for 4 on the spot at 8:45, came right in and sat down, no waiting. The food and service were fantastic. It was a dream. Also shoutout to their delicious Pimm’s Cup with the homemade ginger syrup.
