Our gastropub, Hobgoblin, features magical elements, like our potions, our gargoyle street lamps and our paintings of medieval monsters, based on sketches by monks and nuns. We offer Asian small plates, various creative cocktails, twenty rotating craft beers on tap, plus a wide range of bottles and cans, selective wine and champagne lists.

Moreover, our downstairs bar and dining space features a 7 foot Yamaha C6X; we will present live piano shows and smaller musical acts on weekend nights.

Creative Cocktails & Great Jazz, But the Food Missed the Mark Hobgoblin definitely delivers on atmosphere—with a moody, eclectic vibe and excellent live jazz that set the tone for a fun night out. The cocktail menu was creative, leaning into a cool “elixirs that heal” theme. Some of the drinks were genuinely intriguing, though service timing was a bit off. My partner’s wine and our appetizers arrived well before my cocktail, which didn’t come for another 15 minutes. Food-wise, we appreciated the Asian-Thai influences and thought the Tom Kai spring rolls and the salmon tartare cups were decent, but not standout. Unfortunately, the steak tartare tasted unusually gamey, and the raspberry lobster dip just didn’t work for us—an odd flavor combination that missed the mark. Our server was very kind and tried her best, but she seemed overwhelmed—possibly covering tables both upstairs and down. It made for a slower, somewhat disjointed experience. That said, we’d definitely return for drinks and live music—just not for the food. Hobgoblin has potential, especially if the kitchen tightens up and service gets a bit more support.

We had a wonderful experience at Hobgoblin. The ambience was lovely, the service was fast without being intrusive, and the drinks and food were excellent. It was uncrowded and you could talk comfortably. I highly recommend this restaurant.

When expecting people to pay a premium for a “themed” bar and downtown you need to execute it well. Hobgoblin does not. A good measure of execution is how well staple plates are delivered. Thai burger, medium, overcooked (no color at all) and the theme of the burger was enhanced by a couple of basil leaves and a spicy sauce. Sauce was good but overall the Thai idea falls through. Similar with the crispy chicken thigh with honey glaze. Not honey glaze at all, just basically tasteless sweet simple syrup smothering what was actually well cooked chicken. Overall lacked any flavor. The fries provided, are the flour coated “crispy” fries that you serve to 5 year olds. Nothing but frozen muck that should never be served at the price this place charges. Issues with beer lines causing under carbonation of beers. Service is good, but at least offer salt and pepper. Overpriced, trying to be something it’s far from. Spend your money elsewhere until they get their game sorted out.

the food, drinks, and ambiance did stand out to me! the folks my partner and i engaged with were all super kind, however it did seem they were stretched a bit thin. once seated, it took about 10-15 minutes for someone to check in about a drink/food order. once we finished our drinks we were not asked for a second round, they cleared our empty glasses quite quickly. the disappointment here lies simply in not having an opportunity for a second round of what i would have imagined to be some lovely cocktails!

The appetizer mussels were pretty plain. I expected wine, garlic, butter…and didn’t taste any of that, even though I could see some garlic. The entrees though, were fabulous! I had the lamb massaman that was so tender it melted in my mouth, and the curry was delicious. My son had the duck,and everything in the bowl was yum, especially the broth.dessert was the vanilla salted caramel lava cake. While the sauce was way too sweet for me, the cake was delicate and so good. My hot and dirty martini was perfect. I would recommend this place.

I’ve had this place on my restaurant list for awhile and it was really really good! I’m so glad I booked the piano bar section downstairs. It was fairly loud, we had to yell to talk to each other but hey that’s a piano bar. My family and I found the food interesting and delicious. Definitely a bit expensive but our beef and duck entrees were both flavorful and tender. My cocktail was fun. Delicious chocolate cake. I think our only “con” was that it was FREEZING downstairs. We were probably under an air vent, but it was also raining half the day so the downstairs was pretty frigid. Bring a jacket!

Had some drinks and food after a show. It was tasty all around and great service. The music hadn’t quite started when we were finishing so not sure how loud it gets but it was quite cozy and easy to talk earlier in the evening. Nicely decorated and fun tasty drinks. The food was very try good as well.

Great first time at Hobgoblin and it did not disappoint. Between the drinks and delicious food, perfectly situated down the street from great entertainment and night life. Adding it to our list to come back for sure!
