   When expecting people to pay a premium for a “themed” bar and downtown you need to execute it well. Hobgoblin does not. A good measure of execution is how well staple plates are delivered. Thai burger, medium, overcooked (no color at all) and the theme of the burger was enhanced by a couple of basil leaves and a spicy sauce. Sauce was good but overall the Thai idea falls through. Similar with the crispy chicken thigh with honey glaze. Not honey glaze at all, just basically tasteless sweet simple syrup smothering what was actually well cooked chicken. Overall lacked any flavor. The fries provided, are the flour coated “crispy” fries that you serve to 5 year olds. Nothing but frozen muck that should never be served at the price this place charges. Issues with beer lines causing under carbonation of beers. Service is good, but at least offer salt and pepper. Overpriced, trying to be something it’s far from. Spend your money elsewhere until they get their game sorted out.

   the food, drinks, and ambiance did stand out to me! the folks my partner and i engaged with were all super kind, however it did seem they were stretched a bit thin. once seated, it took about 10-15 minutes for someone to check in about a drink/food order. once we finished our drinks we were not asked for a second round, they cleared our empty glasses quite quickly. the disappointment here lies simply in not having an opportunity for a second round of what i would have imagined to be some lovely cocktails!

   The appetizer mussels were pretty plain. I expected wine, garlic, butter…and didn’t taste any of that, even though I could see some garlic. The entrees though, were fabulous! I had the lamb massaman that was so tender it melted in my mouth, and the curry was delicious. My son had the duck,and everything in the bowl was yum, especially the broth.dessert was the vanilla salted caramel lava cake. While the sauce was way too sweet for me, the cake was delicate and so good. My hot and dirty martini was perfect. I would recommend this place.

   I’ve had this place on my restaurant list for awhile and it was really really good! I’m so glad I booked the piano bar section downstairs. It was fairly loud, we had to yell to talk to each other but hey that’s a piano bar. My family and I found the food interesting and delicious. Definitely a bit expensive but our beef and duck entrees were both flavorful and tender. My cocktail was fun. Delicious chocolate cake. I think our only “con” was that it was FREEZING downstairs. We were probably under an air vent, but it was also raining half the day so the downstairs was pretty frigid. Bring a jacket!

   Had some drinks and food after a show. It was tasty all around and great service. The music hadn’t quite started when we were finishing so not sure how loud it gets but it was quite cozy and easy to talk earlier in the evening. Nicely decorated and fun tasty drinks. The food was very try good as well.

   Great first time at Hobgoblin and it did not disappoint. Between the drinks and delicious food, perfectly situated down the street from great entertainment and night life. Adding it to our list to come back for sure!

   Book this because of the great reviews but unfortunately it’s not the same experience I got. Went 5 minutes ,early on my reservation , hostess welcome is not as warmed , she ask me if I am alone , and yes I booked for 1 , then she ask if I want a table or sit on the bar, I choose to have a table but I end up seating under the stairs , where empty chairs filed up, together with a lot of paper bags with ladies shoes , I don’t say anything until someone come to me and I ask her , can I just sit at the bar, I moved to the bar , order Negroni- comes in very sweet , I ask for sparkling water and look at the menu, got the duck satay expecting to be on skewers but duck comes in dice and seared - fat not even rendered properly , comes with the sauce taste like a raw gochujang paste , comes also with a white toast bread - breakfast toast . I had the steamed Bransino for main, comes in quick and sauce was too salty . I felt like every was rush . Negroni finish, water finish, not even offering a second round of drinks, juts right after my meal finish not even a seconds they gave me the bill , I left with out dessert . I think they are rushing to make covers but compromising service and experience . Not recommended for foodies.

   Great find! Everyone in our party LOVED their food. Unique dishes and lots of variety. Server was a bit f St low but was very friendly. Kids said it was best food they had in. Boston. Husband was super impressed with his cod! My hamburger was great… but it was a bit spicy for me.
