HK Lounge Bistro has been reborn in the SoMa district. We specialize in handmade Dim Sum and Hong Kong Style Chinese cooking.

Reservations:
Walk-in are welcome but reservations are highly recommended. You may also call the restaurant and speak with our host for availability.

    We had just read the top 100 BayArea restaurants and found the HK Lounge and decided to try it. I am so glad we did. It is one of the best dim sum I have eaten outside Hong Kong., Each item was freshly made, and tasted exactly like the ingredients that are. outlined. We loved the soft shell crab, the duck dumplings, outstanding, and the sticky rice in lotus leaf was beyond any one I have ever had, The restaurant is small but we had a reservation and it was honored in a timely fashion. It can be loud when it is full, we had a later time and it became quiter. The staff was kind and attentive. I can't see going anywhere else but HK Lounge.

    Great food and great service. It was a little pricey but if you want good dim sum it's worth it. Everything we tried was good (and we tried a lot). The only issue we had is that it's not located in the best area of town. And it's a small place so make reservations or you might need to wait.

    Our table of 4 had Hot & Sour Soup.. fabulous! We also shared Shrimp and Chive Dumplings (fried..) Scallion Pancakes and two other dishes.. All were absolutely delicious, and the service couldn't be better.. Can't wait to go back!

    Excellent food , quality, and service . Understated decor but that didn’t matter to me . Great wine selection and dessert was unique and delicious . Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.

    Overall, I really like this place for the amazing food and location. I live in SOMA so I love having a great dim sum/Chinese food restaurant in my local neighborhood. I would have given this place a 5 star overall except for the price...not cheap. For example, their fried rice is wonderful but is it worth $30? Again, I'm going back b/c the food is top quality and it's my favorite neighborhood joint but don't be surprised with the sticker shock.

    Disappointed in the food. Shrimp dumplings were so salty and oily. I wasn't a fan of the skin either. The shrimps in shrimp rice roll were huge (in a good way) but unfortunately overly salty. The rice roll (skin) itself was thin and felt out of proportion given the size of the shrimps. Both dishes are usually my must haves at dim sum places, but unfortunately they were huge let downs here that I couldn't finish them. Service was nice nonetheless.
