   Loved loved loved the food. Had the excellent chowder, and the carrots. Shannon was our server for two nights and she was excellent.

   Very disappointing especially as this was in the top restaurants in Port Douglas. Menu was fancy but did not live up to the expectations we had. Entrees we’re not enjoyable Mains were disappointing We had $50 steaks & surf & turf. Completely over the top with potatoes. Steak was cold The only thing we enjoyed was the sourdough bread & one diner had chowder which see enjoyed

   Hi Steve, I find your feedback surprising given all of our other recent reviews and the 5* reviews we received from the evening you dined. You have not really outlined what you didn't like and why you chose to leave us this review. We went out of our way to adjust the seating plan and give you a table right at the front of the restaurant and yet you were still unhappy. Kind regards, The Hi Tide team

   My wife loved the slow cooked beef cheek. I had the seafood chowder which was outstanding. There were also Oysters on special and they were delicious. Thank you we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and highly recommend to all. Peter

   My wife had the gnocchi with a very nice, tasty garden salad. I had the Hi Tide 'signature dish' the Chowder, which rather like a previous reviewer, it was watery, as in the liquid was rather like a milky flavoured solution and the filling wasn't memorable, 2 prawns which tasted nice, fresh, 3 or 4 mussels, lots of pipi's and nothing else discernable. Needs to be a much thicker broth to resemble a classic chowder and some solid pieces of fish would have added some different taste and texture - pity really, I was expecting something special

   Hello, Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. Our chowder is not as thick and heavy as they serve down south, as we have adjusted the style to suit a more tropical climate.    Lovely ambience with great staff who were multi tasking and doing a very good job. Sitting at a table with a marvellous view sipping cocktails was just what the Dr. ordered. All staff at the Peninsula are open and friendly and their smiles welcomed us the minute we checked in. Ten out of 10 everyone…take a bow.

    Had a 7:30 dinner reservation for Saturday night. Entre that I ordered was not available, so I decided on two small plates again one was not available. Lovely restaurant but dinner short of items was was disappointing.
