Here, on the Central Coast of California, BBQ has always meant grilling over an open fire of red oak, a style of cooking that is native to our area and goes back to the days of the Spanish Rancheros. By combining the old and the new, we have created an exciting cuisine with outstanding steaks, ribs and chicken, along with fresh fish and seafood and vegetarian options. excellent steaks and delicious appetizers good local wine selection. The ono was also excellent and moist on the inside with great oak flavor.

Had a wonderful dinner with my wife. We had a ribeye steak and baby back ribs. They were both greatly cooked and delicious! Also came with a green salad with came with 2 deep fried goat cheese balls. Awesome. Washed it down with a delicious house pinot noir called Highliner. Service was also top notch and waitress happily answered any and all questions we had. Would recommend this place to any and everyone. Can't wait to go back.

A perfect meal in every way. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Unpretentious. Friendly staff. Amazing food. A perfect day in Solvang for me is Paula's Pancake House for breakfast and Hitching Post II for dinner.

My wife and I had a great time @ the HP 2! The food was fabulous and the steaks were cooked perfectly. In addition we had a house bottle of pinot noir that was one of the best we have ever had! I highly recommend this restaurant as we will not forget how nice everyone was to us and made us feel like we really mattered. THANK YOU!

The food has really gone downhill! They are resting on their reputation from the past at this point. Not really worth going there.

My family and I went to celebrate my 35th Birthday. I ordered the filet mignon medium well. It was one of the best steaks I’ve had. Everything else was just average from the baked potato to the vegetables and the soup and salad.

The food was so tasty. Filet was amazing. The Magic Stuff spices is so good. Place is a little dated but the food makes up for it.

Great steaks, quirky with other food offerings. Puddings quite big after a hefty steak.
Pricey but worth it. Would happily return, roll on next visit to Solvang!👍
