Der Name des Restaurants Hintz & Kuntz in Mainz ist mit Bedacht gewählt; in dem Lokal, das im Herzen der Stadt, im Schatten des Mainzer Doms liegt, sollen sich alle Gäste rundum wohlfühlen. Und kulinarisch rundum verwöhnt werden: Die Küche in der Fischtorstraße setzt voll auf gutbürgerliche, regional geprägte deutsche Küche mit leichten internationalen Einflüssen. Genieße verschiedene Frühstücksvariationen (die hier nach Mainzer Bischöfen benannt sind) oder Tapas à la Mainzer Spundekäs mit Brezeln, gebratenes Gemüse mit Auberginenmousse oder scharfe Garnelen auf Avocadocreme. Zu den (teilweise saisonalen) Spezialitäten des Hauses gehören auch der Feldsalat an Entenbrust mit Kürbis-Vinaigrette, Apfel und Walnuss und geschmorte Kalbsbäckchen mit gedünstetem Spitzkohl und Kartoffel-Sellerie-Püree. All das lässt man sich schmecken in einem hellen, angenehmen Ambiente – sehr empfehlenswert!
