the only thing our group wasn't pleasant with was we had fruit flies a couple at the beggining then more came out when our food was there, please have that taken care of right away because that is they only reason i gave overall rating of good, otherwise the food and everything else was great.
Two dining room fireplaces. Awesome ambiance. Great wood fired pizzas. Tasty brews.
Came for a celebration with friends, sat upstairs. Service was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. The Shrimp and Grits were amazing.
Really good food, reservation was on time. We sat in the bar for an hour prior to dinner and ordered appetizers. They were delicious, but took 45 mins to arrive. Sat down for dinner at 8, and dinner arrived at 9:15. Thankfully we had a patient group of friends who let us share appetizers, but I was so hungry by the time we actually got our food. It was really worth the wait, I just wish the wait hadn’t been so long. There were six of us, so they automatically included a gratuity of 20%, which I normally would tip, but in the situation with such a long delay would’ve liked to have the option of tipping that high of a percentage. No special event either, just a Saturday night, so this may not be a good place to go on game day.
We waited over an hour after ordering before receiving our food. Our waitress did not know how to use a corkscrew to open our bottle of wine. The food was good.
The food is very good. The menu selection is very small and very over-priced
It was very good.
Good time a little loud for to someone
We were a group of co-workers meeting for dinner before a sporting event. Reservations were easy to make. I arrived about 15 minutes prior to our reservation, and the table was ready (despite the fairly busy time). I feel the staff was friendly, effecient, and professional. Our drinks were delicious, and our food was good. Everyone felt both the food and drinks were grossly overpriced. In my opinion my burger was cook exactly the way I ordered it, however, it was an underwhelming $16.00 burger. I put 3 drinks and a burger on my bill and dropped $50.00 for the evening which included the tip.
I have no intention on spending that kind of money on good or ordinary food. I will not recommend or return based on price alone.
My husband and I used to frequent the old Hinterland location, and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experiences there, so we decided to try out the new location. Our first visit to the new location will definitely be our last visit. The organic charm and quaintness of the old location has been replaced with a large, loud restaurant that lacks any of the vibes from the old location. The servers at the new location are all a bunch of 20-somethings that lack customer service and the ability to be personable. When we first arrived a couple of chatty girls at the front desk directed us to go upstairs because "someone up there can help you." We went upstairs and weren't greeted by anyone, nor even acknowledged. We continued past the bar until we found someone in our path that had his back to us. He was busy on an iPad and when we asked him if he could help us he appeared very inconvenienced by our request. He looked up our name on his iPad and said he couldn't find our reservation, although I told him I received a reservation confirmation. He continued to tell us that we didn't have a reservation and it wasn't until one of the servers came over and told us not to worry about it and that she would find us a table were we given a table. As for the food: all of the prices went up and the quality has decreased. We ordered the Friday Night Fish Fry and were disappointed on the decrease of the portion sizes and the quality of the coleslaw. I understand that they have a bigger restaurant now, but this is not what Hinterland used to be known for. I am astounded that the once quaint, charming restaurant now has TVs and is more of a sports bar atmosphere then an upscale dining experience. It doesn't matter if you try to mimic the old atmosphere, if your staff is flighty and not engaged, the food is predictable at best and you have sports playing on the TVs, you are not a fine dining restaurant, you are a glorified TGI Fridays! How disappointing!
Met some new friends here. Very accommodating. Great salad and fantastic beer selection.
Great Experience -Never been to this restaurant before. Perfect for clients or fun night out with girl friends, couples, families also
Awesome brunch. Our server was extremely nice as well.
Great food and atmosphere. Hard for large groups to have conversations due to acoustics.
It's a good place to meet 30 and 40-year olds for a drink and bar food. At our age, we look for places with great food, AND atmosphere and class.
Service was spotty. Disingenuous friendliness/disinterest. Lunchtime sun through tall window was blinding at our and many other tables without any mention when being seated or effort(s) to minimize/control thereafter. Limited menu choices but food was good.
Good food, just a narrow menu width left us wanting more. More option with steak or seafood dinner items. Better dessert options.
Great atmosphere. Wish the gift shop was open longer so we could have picked up stuff after dinner finished. It was only 9ish and it was closed.
Food wait was looong! Overpriced ! Quality of food was poor. Waitress was good. Will never return! Ran out of tenders on kids menu. Burgers were under cooked (and i eat medium rare). Cheese curds were ridiculously priced and not great. Plenty of fries! Too many! Steak dinners were ok but not worth 42. Even the carrot cake was seved over bitter crannberry sauce!
Accoustics are terrible!
Very overpriced and limited menu options. Loud and wide open seating area. On a positive note, they have a great beer selection.
Our waitress did not come to our table until about :12 minutes after we sat down. She did apologize, advised there was a mix up.
The table's for two are WAY to close together. There is zero opportunity for conversation with your date, friend, etc...as those sitting right next to you hear everything. Plus, if someone needs to get in and out to go to the restroom...your butt is right in their face, because you cannot get out without turning...unless you are a size 0-2.
All of our meals were undercooked. Our shrimp was raw, steak was rare, and hamburger was almost raw. We at the rest and took the meat home to cook to the desired temperature.
There are 8 entree's on the menu. The lowest price is a $16 burger. You could expand the menu slightly to offer a few more items. Meatloaf for $32?
I know it was a busy night, so we are willing to try it again. We'll see what happens next time.
Thanks for the opportunity to share.
Service, pizza and giant fireplace were all great! My reason for some lower ratings was the perch fry. Although the taste excellent, getting 3 butterflies for $22 was crazy!! That amount of fish is $12-13 meal anywhere else in the state.
The Ocean Trout I had was not cooked all the way through and the chicken my wife ordered was undercooked as well. Service was ok, but despite it not being that busy, we did not get refills on our waters and took a while for us to get our check. Normally I overlook things like that and understand life happens due to past restaurant jobs I've had. I figured it was worth bringing up due to if it was my place I would want to know what we can improve but also the idea that my wife and I dropped $100+ means that you expect a higher level of service/food than a typical Perkins like restaurant. The place looks awesome...the beer you have is awesome...parking was good....hostess & server were friendly. Good luck over there!
Amazing taco Tuesday and great pizza. Server was excellent
Great food, beer, service, atmosphere. What’s left?
Ok food, way overpriced imo. They are in a prime spot with very nice facilities.
Great beer, but very limited menu - with more formal entrees than we expected. Wish they had more casual sandwich and burger options. I would only go back to enjoy a beer and an appy. Would not go back for dinner.
We dined at Hinterland for a business meeting. After reading the reviews about the loud noise level, I requested a more quiet area. We were seated in their back area and it was a little better. This is a beer hall with high ceilings and can get very noisy. The décor and atmosphere were fun. For Appetizers we had the cheese curds, tonatto toast, brussel sprouts and the new, adventurous bone marrow appetizer. They were all very good. For dinner, two in our group had the artisan sausage platter, two had the burger and I had the Blackened Barramundi. All were very tasty. I think the pricing is crazy though. $16 for a burger is hard to justify. I probably will be back, but not for the overpriced dinners. This would be a fun place to hang out for happy hour and appetizers.
Overpriced. Underwhelming! My husband and I both had dinners that were very disappointing. His tiny piece of salmon was served on a bed of undercookeded sweet potatoes. My burger was missing the Neuske’s bacon and the “garlic” fries were missing the garlic! Add in two beers, a small appetizer and our bill was $73.00!!!
Excellent farm to table concept combined with unique Wisconsin brews.
Beautiful urban vibe with wood burning fireplaces at opposite ends of the main room. Can’t believe it’s Green Bay. Food was delicious and we totally enjoyed it.
Enjoyed the ambience, great service, great food. Loved the view of Arien's Run from our table next to the cozy fireplace.
Very nice dinner and drinks with great staff! Will return again!
Took 2 hours from the time we sat till the time we got our food and it was not busy. Then they brought the food and gave us all the wrong dishes so there was no organization in delivering what else actually ordered.. Food was cold. Took a long time to get our check.
Server needed more training, would ask if we needed anything, if one person answered he ran off, leaving others with hand in air and in need.
Mediocre is the best explanation I have. The burger was flavorless. The service was not good and we got charged 20% gratuity because we had 8 people. The menu is weak in comparison to what they offered at their previous location. I will say that the drinks and beer were outstanding. We’ll probably return for drinks, but not a meal. I’d rather fo next door to the hotel restaurant.
The food took forever. The burger was cold and not done the way it was supposed to be. It was simple overprices. The beer however was good and there was a variety of beers to choose from. The waiter was very nice but never did ask how my burger was...
We enjoyed out lunch outing, made reservations, table was all set, server was fantastic, overall great experience!
Wonderful place to be. It’s in my top 2 restaurants to eat in Green Bay. Being next to Lambeau and the Tiltletown entertainment district just adds to it!
Love this new location. At first was disappointed that they changed their "thing" (so I thought). I was expecting the amazing personalized service and menu I had come to enjoy at the previous downtown Green Bay location. It was an amazing atmosphere...I would call it upscale sports bar - amazing décor, fun drinks, and amazing food. However it was just that a sports bar...not what I thought we were getting. Then I learned that the dining I had been expecting was available in their upstairs dining area. That is so amazing - double bonus - amazing upscale sports bar AND what I can imagine is the most amazing dining experience (solely based on my past experience with this place). Highly recommended!!!
We found it to be overpriced. Our meals were cold and serving sizes were small. Kids meals were expensive.
