Hinterland Beer Hall Ratings and Reviews
We sat at 6:45pm (party of 8), ordered right away, got our appetizers and drinks promptly--however, our food did not come until a few minutes before 8pm. Really unbelievable. The cauliflower app was not good, burger was decent, pizza OK.
The atmosphere was beautiful however, and the server was nice.
If you are in a hurry, don't go there. Also, the restaurant was busy, but not off the chain slammed.
The food was absolutely delicious, but, unfortunately, we could not enjoy it due to cold fingers and shivering. We were seated in the back room of Hinterland next to the windows and could not take our jackets off the entire evening. I downloaded a room thermometer app, and it was 62 degrees inside. Very few of the customers had their jackets off, and our waitress stated that she asked management to turn up the heat due to the complaints. She was very frustrated and offered dessert, but we declined as we just wanted to leave to warm up. At the price point of the food, it was extremely discouraging and disappointing. We would like Hinterland to succeed in our community, and their downtown business was fantastic! We will graciously try it again, but will not go through Open Table. Instead, we'll call directly to secure a fireplace table to avoid the backroom again. Either that, or we'll don our longjohns, hats, mittens, and parkas. This gives new meaning to the term "Tundra!" :) We did email management but never heard anything which we hope is not indicative of a dismissive leadership. We will definitely recommend to out-of-town guests for a fun Lambeau experience.
Blah. Went once on a Saturday during the summer... despite over half the restaurant being empty, we were told by a pretentious young man that there was no availability for several hours. Trying too hard to create buzz... imo. Not gonna work in GB.
Gave it one more try, on a Monday, this time with an OpenTable reservation. Again, only 4 tables occupied in the whole place... same pretentious host tries to seat us crammed into a 2-top between parties. Insane! Ok, I ask and we're seated somewhere with a little more space. Food was ok, but again... trying too hard to add a 'big city trendy' vibe to every dish. The atmosphere is perfect... real wood fireplace, modern open-area concept, high-top drinks/social area... great setup. Food is... ehhh. And they still haven't figured out the service aspect... reference the seating issues already mentioned, and the dirty table that sat in front of me and was never attempted to be tidied up after our appetizer overflowed it's plate. Don't forget... flies! Tons of them... couldn't even focus on conversation or take a bite without having to shoo them away. Killed 4 myself. This was the day after Packer game day though... I guess I should've known. My fault?
Honestly, I'm not normally this picky, or easily irritated... but if I'm paying $90 for dinner for two in what is essentially a sports bar, it had better be impressive. Sorry, it wasn't.
Menu was limited but food quality was good. Very disappointed that the beer prices were different on the menu from what the bill showed. I had two beers—One was eight dollars the other was nine dollars on the menu. The bill showed the beers as $10 and $12. It was so busy I didn’t bother to question it. I paid and left. That was disappointing. The beer was good but the prices were way too high.
The food is well prepared and, with a couple exceptions, top notch. Tortillas on the fish tacos should be more authentic. They looked like grocery store flour tortillas. The place is loud, so if you want to visit with your table mates, you should go somewhere else. Overall it was fun and good. Prices are high.
Beer was very good, huge fan of the cherry wheat. We are in the restaurant industry so we understand a few hiccups every now and then. We figured hinterland had plenty of time now to get their new business open and able to work out the kinks. We waited 30 min for our appetizer of fried cauliflower. The dish itself was delicious but waiting that long for an appetizer was disappointing. Our main meal was the steak and barramundi. The barramundi was cold like it was sitting for a long time before being served and the steak was very rare instead of medium rare. The flavors of the dishes were wonderful but I just wish the execution was better. When paying for good quality food, you want it to be cooked properly and hot. The traditional beer hall environment was awesome the the new business itself is really nice. Overall, we had a good date night and are more than willing to give hinterland another go, in hopes that it was just a bad night they were having.
Our server Jenny G was amazing ...very attentive and friendly ! But the food leaves much to be desired. The lunch menu is so limited and for the price definitely not worth it! The food when you were at the Broadway location was amazing . Sorry not impressed with the good at all
Very friendly and competent wait staff...from check in to waitress to coffee server. Attractive, natural woods, greys, charcoal, white.s n blacks, ...all a handsome, contemporary decor with it.s birch tree n hunter theme.
Having a cup of coffee, your favorite beverage, ..or a a house-specialty... or a Hinterland Brew,... you will enjoy the experience. Next door... Lambeau Field, Titletown Park, ...the new Kohler Lodge.
Beautiful architecture & ambience.
First of all, the decor is beautiful. The location across from Lambeau is convenient as well. The food menu was limited, but that is understandable. It was a Saturday afternoon and many restaurants have abbreviated menus on the weekends. The food was good, but very expensive. I don't mind paying extra, but the food should reflect it.
The beer selection was great, but I had two beers that were not that cold. I'm not saying they were warm - I drank them! Ha! It was extremely loud in the restaurant. Not a problem if you are there with people to watch a game, but too loud for a conversation. We sat downstairs. There is an upstairs that seemed more appropriate for that.
Overall, it was a nice place. I probably won't be headed back anytime soon. I'm choosing the Cannery or 1919 if I am going to be looking for a higher end pub.
One more thing - the waitstaff and servers were very nice.
Nothing like their other location. This place is sterile and industrious. Food selections very limited. Waited on drinks several times. Price way too high for the mediocre quality of food and service. I would not recommend coming to this location. They are ruining their brand with this location.
Being busy at Hinterland does not equate to a great experience during a Packers home weekend. We walked in to the restaurant WITH A RESERVATION and the hostess/host stand was utter chaos. First impressions matter and I was ready to walk out after our experience with the folks at the front! Rude, rude, rude and completely unorganized. They did not acknowledge us when we approached and I noticed that they were belligerent to other guests without reservations and just a tad better towards us when we said we had reservations. The man that sat us was condescending and when he tried to seat us in an area that we specifically said we didnt want to sit in, he immediately challenged us and said we could talk to a manager instead of trying to reconcile the situation himself. Our server was sweet but stretched. Runners did not seem to know their table numbers and we kept getting other people's orders. Food was very good but not worth the trouble.........
Our first time at Hinterland, lots of choices for craft beer! Atmosphere was more industrial, it was loud and conversation was difficult. Appetizer was seasonal veggies with 2 spreads, for $16 I expected much more than what it was. The Rueben pizza was excellent! Not a lot of choices on the menu, and no specials.
It was just ok. Very loud. We had a reservation and they sat us at a tiny table about an inch away from a family of 4 who was mid meal. It felt like we were imposing on their meal. We requested a new table but we're told they only had high tops near the bar. We took that. Took extremely long to get our drinks. Menu was limited. I would not race back.
Overall the ambiance and restaurant was very nice. Nice addition for Green Bay. I had the fish tacos that were just ok. Batter could of been cooked a little longer or maybe even a not fried fish taco option would be great. Boyfriend had the pork sandwich which was really good. Would also suggest in training the waitresses a little better in their beer knowledge. Overall I would return and is a nice place.
I did not like the seating that was available. One long booth with several small tables / chairs opposite it. For two people, it felt like we were eating with the strangers that were seated next to us. Too close for comfort!!! Felt like they were trying to put as many people in that space as possible.
We waited a while before a waiter acknowledged us. So long that one of the couples next to us suggested that we flag someone down.
We did like our food choices. Fried cheese curds, house salad, Italian meat pizza, and shrimp with grits and pork belly.
Hinterland has great beer, and a big selection.
We had an amazing time! The food was the best and the service outstanding. Our server was the greatest; we hope to have him again the next time. Can't wait to return! Hinterland is worth the drive no matter where you live. One of Wisconsin's finest places to eat and enjoy life! Thank you guys!
We are from the area and thought we would try it out on a weeknight. The sausage and pretzel plate was excellent! Service was speedy. My chicken overall was ok, but I will say the sprouts and guac/mango sauce was delish. I think it would be better if they removed the skin and skipped the mole. My husband's burger was good. They have a wide selection of their own Hinterland beers and other locals. I give criticism with best intentions. I think it's a great development for the Packer organization and I wish them success. Cant wait to try upstairs next time!
