    Lovely meal & good service. The venison burger was a bit disappointing, as was the black pudding starter but apart from that everything we had was very tasty.

    Just superb. Delicious food and so reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The lamb dish was outstanding!

    We booked a table in advance for 6.30. There were around 12 diners, most of whom seemed to be waiting for food and/or drinks. We noticed one - very pleasant and diligent - staff member both taking orders and working the bar. After about 5-10 minutes it was really clear that we'd be in for a long wait. As we hadn't yet had a chance to order, we said to the staff member that we would ease his burden by going elsewhere. He was very nice about it, but didn't put up much of a fight! Our previous visit (same weekday/time) had been really memorable. There were at least 3 staff working front of house, the service was fantastic and the food was really lovely. You can't always plan for every contingency, and maybe something had happened that disrupted things on this occasion. The scores I've given reflect previous experiences. Don't let this review put you off. We'll certainly book again.

    We enjoyed a great meal at Hinnies and every category justifiably earns 5 stars. We enjoy the format of the set menus with a good choice, the excellent service, the informal and friendly atmosphere and, not least, delicious food. We visit Whitley Bay occasionally and a meal at Hinnies is always one of the highlights of our stay.

    Hinnies is one of my favourite places to eat. We often go for Sunday lunch and lunch times through the week. Food is excellent and of a high quality. Staff are friendly and attentive without being over the top. We travel a fair bit to get there but it is always worth it

    Amazing find for us. Second visit and will not be our last, great food and service is absolutely spot on, with just the perfect amount of attentiveness. Food is super tasty and clearly been well thought through! Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of food you get.
