Awesome food made by friendly and welcoming folks. We had so much fun and felt happy for hours after dinner.
We ordered the Omakase and it was incredible. The service was also impeccable and the chef personally came out and chatted with us with for quite some time. Felt extremely welcome.
Took my wife for lunch on her birthday. We didn’t get a free cake or dessert with a candle on it or anything but we really enjoyed the food. We’ll be back.
As always a great experience! Definitely recommend coming here for date night
This maybe the best sushi place in San Diego. It’s our 4th time here in less than 2 months and I still get”wowed” by their food.
Small restaurant, just off a parking lot downtown but well architected so you don't notice. Really among the very best sushi I've had anywhere -- creative, fresh, great knowledgeable service, really a gem.
Super nice, omakase was exceptional for lunch. Bar sitting is the best seat for omakase
Fantastic, as it usually is!
Amazing sushi bar
Fresh fish, friendly service, charming ambience.
Must visit 🤩
We LOVED Himitsu but were a bit frustrated after literally spending 400$ to be rushed out so they could seat another party. Beyond that, everything was delicious and pleasant.
Just impeccable the omakase experience was top notch. Watching the chefs breakdown fish for the evening is incredible and entertaining. The staff was so nice and the service was next level.
Overall not terrible. The fish was fresh but the portion size was very small. I get it businesses have profit margins they need to maintain especially after COVID but we spent 210$ on food and drink and could’ve easily ate more food on the way home. Great warm little spot in the village of La Jolla but word to the wise don’t go here if you’re extremely hungry unless you want to spend hundreds of dollars.
100% worth it! The food is delicious, I recommend the rib eye katsu sando as a starter and the tasha roll, the seafood is super fresh! also the service was very good, thanks to jack and ivanna!
We’ve been to Himitsu before and it’s one of our favorite restaurants but the last time we came it was disappointing.
The omakase lunch was spectacular. Very fresh fish, plenty of interesting courses and good Exchange with the sushi chefs at the sushi bar. A really excellent experience
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had! Highly recommend ordering omakase and sitting at the chef’s table. Huge thank you to chef and the Himitsu team for an unforgettable evening. ❤️
If you love sushi then this is the place to go to. The restaurant is small but their food will leave a big impression.
Favorite sushi in San Diego hands down- highly recommend sitting at the bar.
Fresh fish. Quality and service was on point. One of my fave sushi restaurants in SD.
Awesome food. Great omakase experience. Attentive staff. Super.
We enjoyed sitting at the bar and talking to the chefs during our dinner. We had omakase and they asked us what we liked or didn't like so they could help curate our dishes. Everything we had was delicious. Everyone who sat at the bar had been there before so it's definitely a place to come back to. Definitely pricey but all quality sushi restaurants are and it was perfect for date night.
Excellent dining experience. The host, servers and chef were all fantastic. Very kind and respectful. Made extra efforts to seat us even though we arrived well before our reservation. Food was DELICIOUS. Legitimately some of the best sushi I have had in my life. Food came out in a timely manner. I recommend sitting at the sushi bar, it is very entertaining to watch the chef cook in front of you. I loved my experience at Himitsu. 10/10. Will be returning if I am in the area!
We really enjoyed our evening at Himitsu. The selection of sushi and sashimi was excellent, very fresh and beautifully presented. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. Food was served promptly, little time between when we ordered and when it arrived. Value for money was excellent!
Incredible food, great service. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
Best sushi I have ever had in my life.
Always enjoy dining at Himitsu! Food is exceptional.
Amazing food and great service. Delightful restaurant that brought me back to Tokyo. Only bummer was that we asked for a shady spot, they couldn’t accommodate that request and our table was directly in the sun and it got really hot.
The food service, presentation, and freshness was outstanding per usual. This is a wonderful restaurant for a special dinner or just for a most enjoyable lunch. Himitsu ingredients are the best And the presentation is fantastic.
Was our first time trying out sushi like this and it was amazing!
This is for people who appreciate high quality sushi and don’t mind small portion sizes. Wonderful staff.
I like uni is very good
Really good sushi. Very good service, we are out doors and we didn’t feel cold.
Always the best sushi, everything from the hand rolls to the daily specials. Can’t be beat.
Cute location, high quality seafood, adorable and comfortable patio seating with indoor/outdoor feel. What more could you want? Definitely going to be a regular here.
Super fresh amazing sashimi!!!! I HIGHLY recommend going here if you want quality authentic Japanese food. Can't wait to go back!!!
Friendly staff, amazing food. I will definitely be back.
The food was outstanding as usual, but the service was below par. It was a new server and she needs some more training. She was extremely polite and I'm sure she will improve. We ordered all our favorites like hamachi tostadas, blue fin tuna sashimi and gindara and they were all perfect.
The food was tasty (always is), though I've never seen such a tiny edamame dish.
The service was far from great, with everything taking long to e served, an appetizer arriving after the main course (and only after we asked).
