Hilltop Restaurant and Herb Garden

They closed without informing me and cancelled my reservation. We showed up expecting a nice steak dinner after a long day of hiking and fishing only to discover the place was dark and empty. We were staying in a cabin with limited food that we had packed and had no backup plan. Its not like we could just go somewhere else, in the middle if nowhere. My family was extremely disappointed!

We had reservations on a Friday at 6:15. Wasn’t crowded at all but filling up when we left. It’s very relaxing and beautiful there. Would definitely recommend it!

The Hilltop Restaurant needs to update their website to advise you they no longer have the Friday night Seafood Buffet.

The food was very good, however, they really need to hire some additional wait staff as now that they must provide food service, they do not have sufficient staff to support all of the guests who now must be served.

I miss the buffet and was very disappointed that the bread pudding ran out. Our waitress had too many tables. More waitresses or having some of the others do more would help.

Since their chef left and the new one came they are not having the seafood buffet and that was not on their website. They had a menu with each of the buffet items on it but the problem was you had to buy each one separately. I will not go back

Really enjoyed the New Orleans Seafood buffet. Every dish was well prepared and seasoned just right. The lake front setting to the dining room made it even better.

AMAZING! The place is beautiful in a very calm, romantic setting on the water. The service was outstanding! But the real surprise was the food! BEST buffet meal we’ve ever had! Fresh salads, fresh HOT entrees, numerous choices, exquisite desserts! Will go back again - and again - and again, well, you get my point.

Outstanding as always. Service, food quality and atmosphere. We took my parents for there 60th wedding anniversary and they really enjoyed it.

We live close but have never eaten here. We will definitely be back. Great food and love the scenery out the dining room windows. So peaceful.

Our family has dined here on numerous occasions and we are always amazed by how good the food is!

we live fairly close but have never just gone out to eat dinner there. the pricing compares to the same caliber of food you would get in a Houston restaurant without the drive and traffic. The shrimp remoulade shocked me. I may have eaten a better bite before but I cannot remember when and was not expecting it from this restaurant. I expected good food but not like this. If someone will send me a text every time it is on the menu I will be there. it was that good! The rest of the meal was delicious, but I was literally in shock after the first course.

We did not get to enjoy the the view from our window table since it was already dark. Would suggest going during daylight. The food was good except the crawfish ettoufee . Need new recipe.

My husband and I went for anniversary dinner on Seafood night. The table we had was quiet, the room was romantically lit and although we were sat by people, it was still very private. The staff was friendly and attentive even though this specific day was self serve. We were dressed well but some people were casual, either dress fit in. I recommend it and we are splanning to go back.

My husband and I had our first visit to the Hilltop restaurant tonight . We were looking forward to the 3 course meal that is served on Saturday nights as shown on Open Table but because they had a very large party it was buffet only. I have to say the food was excellent. Everything was very fresh. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly as well as the other staff we encountered . The view of the water is beautiful and we enjoyed walking around the grounds after our meal. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

We enjoyed this restaurant 30 years ago when it was a new popular venue. This time, it made us feel like we had stepped back in time.

You have to go at least once! Food is excellent. Would love to see in daytime the outside part.
