We live out of the LA area, but every time we visit, we always make it a point to dine at Hill Street. The miso black cod and braised short ribs are done well and delicious! There is live music once in a while. They let you enjoy your meal with family and friends without rushing you and service is efficient and friendly. We hope more people try out Hill Street sometime soon!

Great service, food and ambiance. My sister had the Miso Salmon salad. It's one of their popular dishes and we can see why. I had the burger & fries. My burger cooked perfectly and my fries were crispy.They also had a nice seasoning on them. My niece had the turkey Avocado sandwich w/ Ceasars salad. It was a really good portion, so delicious! The staff assured me that my table would be available when I called to say we were running 15 min late from court. All in all, it was a very good experience.

Awful experience, hostess/Server (same person) was so rude the moment my daughter and I walked in. She looked upset that we even walked into the restaurant. Had reservations at 6:30 and got seated right away. Waited 15 minutes in our seats no one came to talk to us about taking our order... we got up to look for room at the bar, the server noticed us walking back to the table and finally came to take our order. The food was subpar. Vegan risotto was awful, no taste, garlic bread tasted like it was from a frozen package. The only saving grace was the music that was playing was awesome 80's alternative. If you are going to the Walt Disney concert Hall, find another place to eat. Do not eat here.

When you did not show up at 6:00, and had not contacted us, we waited a few minutes before reaching out to you. We do not make a habit of closing early. We had been dealing with mechanical problems throughout the week, and decided to take advantage of that evening's slow business. We closed in order to address some of those issues. Again, we offer our sincerest apologies.

We reserved, and clearly didn't need reservation. It's about ten minutes walk from the music center and we wanted somethin other than the restaurant we usually go to there. They were very nice and the old school East Coast bar look was nice. The food was not great. Although they cloy at first, the brussels sprouts appetizer was the high point -- goat cheese, roasted sprouts and a very rich balsamic sauce. That was great (although took some getting used to). I ordered the roast chicken which was both a paltry serving and dried out. The chicken was also not good on my dining partner's ceasar salad. They were very kind and the restrooms were lovely. We might go back, but we probably won't.

everything was delicious. liked being seated on interior area, because although windows open to the street seem inviting, a lot of interesting downtown characters walk by we walked to the Ahmanson from here, which was a nice stroll and saved looking for another parking garage.

This is my go-to place for pre-opera (Chandler Pavilion) or pre-Ahmanson Theater. Although I wish they had a bigger selection in their menu, their food is well-prepared and adequate in potion. The service is quite friendly. There are specials if you get in before 6 PM. Prices are reasonable, too.

My friend and I made a reservation for Happy Hour before seeing a show at the Music Center. The prices were great and there was a good variety of apps and wine choices (although no Rose for such a hot day). We each got cocktails. My friend got an Aperol Spritz that oddly came with a sprig of Rosemary. I got a Sidecar which I didn’t finish. It was just okay. We switched to wine which also was fine. Appetizers were Brussels Sprouts, which were too sweet and came in big pieces that were difficult to eat. We also had chips with guacamole and queso, the chips were fresh, crisp, and salted perfectly. The guacamole was good, but the queso was very tasty. It was an unusual texture. Not gooey, melty like we were expecting l, but the flavor made up for that. There was a nice spice to it. I don’t like to complain about service because I know how hard it is for restaurants to keep staff these days. I told the waiter we wanted to hang on to the menu in case we wanted to order more. I actually did, but we never really saw him again and I didn’t care enough to seek him out. We probably would have ordered another glass of wine too. Oh well. Overall, I’d be willing to try again if I’m looking for a place near the theater. It’s just a short walk, but there’s a hill, so leave your heels at home!

Our server kept forgetting about us. Even though we told her we had theater tickets and had to be finished by a certain time, they didn't change anything. We arrived with plenty of time but had to cancel our desserts and depart. Disappointing!

Small gem. A few blocks away from the courthouse and Music Center, this little bistro is a great alternative for pre-theater dining. Great food, reasonable prices, friendly (but a bit understaffed) service. However, closed on weekends.

We had reservations for 6:30 but got there almost 45 minutes early and they seated us without any hesitation. We got to pick our table and had a wonderful meal. It is the perfect setting for date night on Monday.

My office is down the street so I went her for convenience. I got the roasted vegetables plate which had about 8 different vegetables. It was excellent with a bit of ranch dressing. A perfect lunch when you are trying to eat healthy.

We had a pre-theater dinner here, and are pretty surprised this place isn't more popular. The food tasted great, and the portions were ample. The setting is handsome and, unlike some other restaurants in the area, the seating is not at all crowded. My main complaint was the service, as our waiter ignored us for most of the meal. Although he literally had only ONE other table for the part of our meal in question, he carefully turned his back towards us when he went to his other table, scrupulously avoiding any glance in our direction, so that he could pretend he couldn't see me waving to try to get his attention. After he repeatedly did that, I finally had to run after him to ask for a glass of wine with my entree. Despite this, we enjoyed our meal, and will probably go again, hoping maybe our waiter was just having a bad day.
