Pork Spare Ribs
The sausages were over done and dry .. the lean brisket and ribs were good .. but not like before ..
Spot on with Texas style BBQ
Great Thanksgiving dinner
Thanksgiving during COVID
Food was awesome - way exceeded my expectation for NYC bbq...but $75/head for what we ate was pretty salty - service was outstanding...
Looking at their Instagram photos I was really expecting a better presentation and overall better flavor. It wasn't bad but my expectations weren't met. Both sausage choices were unavailable. That was a bummer. The chicken sandwich was mediocre, it was like a true fast food sandwich on the low end. Ribs, brisket, pulled pork and mac n cheese were good. Service was excellent. Not my pick if you want some good ole messy BBQ.
very good bbq, service was very fast and friendly.
Entire meal was a 1000/10 nw we enjoyed BBQ from a restaurant so much in my LIFE. My husband and I had a great time !!
The food is very good, tables outdoors, prices are expensive, watch what you order
The food was not as good as usual. We sat outside which was really nice
The food was excellent, I prefer indoor seating but this ridiculous Administration of ours in NYC is ruining everything as we once knew it! But Thank You Hill Country for making the effort!
Spectacular barbecue in a down home feeling communal environment. Moist brisket to die for. Loved the spare ribs. As for sides, cucumber salad is quite refreshing. Beans with burnt ends and collard greens delicious. All staff very friendly. A great night out.
While the ambiance was super fun and great decor and ample options, It was unbearably loud, The staff was impatient and rude behind the meat and sides counter, (table service was friendly) You were rushed to make decisions and when I tried to ask a few question about choices I was brushed off The meat was average and the price high ( City prices understood) I have had alot of barbecue and this was well - FLAT and average A definite tourist destination in the city. Fun place for a convert and drinks, but would not go again for dinner.
overpriced food and certainly NOT anything like Austin Texas BBQ
Food was amazing , our server not so great . But the service at the food counter was outstanding with Joe !
I’m never disappointed by this place. Sometimes I feel I should be paying more for everything that you get. Superb service as well 😃👍
My only complaint is the tables are sooo close together, they really jam you in some spots in front of the food area.
Male hostess sat us at a very crowded table on Valentine’s Day with no privacy at all, when I asked the waiter if other tables were available the hostess quickly came back to tell the waiter there was no way we could get another table. I noticed there were several other options but the hostess was stubborn with his response saying absolutely no way he would move us and in a very rude manner. I decided to get my food to go since we drove two hours in traffic from eastern Long Island, when we went to pay for our food the cashier noticed what had happened and offered to find another table for us in the lower level but since I was already annoyed by the way the hostess treated us I told her what he had done but still appreciated her trying to accommodate us, unfortunately it was too late. I am disappointed because we come here a lot with friends and family and spend a lot of money and usually the service is decent.
Great BBQ. Excellent music. Very nice waitress and staff. Saw one of my favorite Texas artist here and had great queso.
Best chicken, ribs and brisket in town!
Cocktails rock too! Love this place!
It hit the spot. I wanted BBQ and it was excellent. The service was very friendly and timely.
Once in a while I want to listen to good country music, have a good Shiner Bock and good BBQ. I had it here with a friend. Bingo!
Food was amazing.
Good experience and social media never lies
Great food and good service. Brought our grandkids and they enjoyed it.
Brisket was very dry and not edible. They forgot our appetizer. Won’t be going back.
Awesome service, great food. Every dish was distinct. Celebrated my husband's birthday and he was thrilled. Platter was enough for our group. Ordered just about all the sides.
Already recommended to friends.
A great place for really great Texas style BBQ. Loud but manageable.
Hill Country is excellent. Their meats are of the highest quality, service is efficient and this has been consistent after many visits to their establishment. Highly recommend!
The food was great,as always. I think the waitress must have gotten lost a couple of times...hardly saw her.
The food was fantastic as always and our server was attentive and so friendly with our large group.
We held a nice watch enthusiasts' gathering at Hill Country BBQ - NYC and had an excellent time. Food was delicious and the waiter was attentive and understanding of our time and duration of stay.
Great BBQ! The brisket was moist and delicious. We also loved the sausage, and the hot German potatoes. The pork spare ribs were not as great. However, overall great food and a fun vibe.
Food was great but a server never came over to our table to get drink orders or explain how the “meal ticket” method worked. We had to flag people down to get any assistance
Had a great time with friends, food was great, service was excellent!
Meats are juicy, delicious and perfectly done. The various sides are large and complement the proteins perfectly. A MUST if you love bbq.
Great BBQ meats and food. Be careful as it’s really easy to over order. Could have been hotter but very very tasty! Would recommend
Absolutely delicious food.
If you like BBQ this place is for you.
The seating is cafeteria style and you get your food at a counter on a tray.
It is a but expensive for the amount of food but you will enjoy the quality and the flavor.
I will be back for the flavor.
The brisket and chicken leg and wings were not cooked fresh. Seemed like they were reheated and so were dry and tough skinned. Brisket seemed slightly burnt too. The short ribs were freshly cooked and were juicy and soft.
Fun environment. Food was good for the price. Chicken and ribs very tasty found brisket to be a little dry but tender. Extremely noisy.
