Great food & service.
I was told a week ago when I made the reservation and as I walked in the door that we'd be able to hear the band from outside. Untrue. They played inside and not one window or door was open so we could hear them. Very disappointing.
Very loud. Expensive. The brisket was really good!
Awesome food, Margaritas we’re perfect. Service was super fast.
Excellent food abs drinks, enjoyed the live music. Not any kid menu options which was tough for our 4 and 6
Amazing authentic Texan BBQ & love the space/rustic. Our waitress was very nice as well. The only caveat is that the restaurant appeared to close early on a Sunday night, & so we felt a bit rushed @ the end. Otherwise, all good.
We had never tried Hill Country before but were in the mood for BBQ. We repeated our order several times but it still came out wrong. When the server finally came back, we let her know that one of the items was wrong and also asked for more napkins. Never got the napkins and finally got the correct item after another server checked in with us. Our server never came back. We waited at least 20 minutes and never could get her attention to get our check. We finally had to go get her and then they couldn’t find our check. Everyone was nice but we probably would not go back after this experience. Music was also very loud.
Best BBQ in New York. Get the Brisket. Great sides. Great service.
Great food and drink
Had dinner Friday night with friends. Sat outside as we are still cautions about indoor dining. It was pouring rain but our little Al Fresco dining shack kept us comfy and dry. Our server Bo was soaked. But he was a champ anyway. We ordered the brisket (got the fattier cut, it was super moist and flavorful), the chicken (half a bird, nice and smokey) hot links (good but nothing special,) and the last beef rib (giant, juicy, the tastiest piece we ate all night) and a few sides which were just fine. Service outside from Bo was fantastic, drinks were good, and we had an awesome time. Prices a little high (per pound pricing) for simple smoked meat, but I guess central Texas style bbq is still pretty trendy.
The ribs were hard, more like they were reheated from Sunday. I couldn’t not even eat them. The Mac and. Cheese was definitely reheated way too many times. Terrible dried, hard food. The service was terrible. Our server never even came to check on our table after taking our order, never checked on how our food was. I threw my entire meal in the garbage, paid my bill and left. Very bad experience.
The outdoor seating area was spacious and comfortable. We liked being served our BBQ at the table instead of waiting in line (pre Covid style). The food was delicious y, but the menu seemed more limited than I remember. We will definitely return and recommend it to our family and friends.
Delicious Texas style BBQ in NY. Especially enjoyed the Brisket, Ribs and chicken.
The best BBQ in New York City! Everything is delicious.
Great food great prices. Nice atmosphere. Will go again.
Good was great as usual. Our server, Erica, was on point, attentive and friendly!
Always solid. Brisket on point and corn pudding real good.
The service my family received was great our waiter was on time with everything we asked for,he came to check on us to make sure we were OK with our food or if we needed to add anything else.I give the chef a 10 this me and family first time there.
Can’t wait to visit again. The food was delicious especially the brisket. The cocktails were great. Myself and my family really enjoyed our lunch here.
The service was great the food was excellent the drinks was on point. Just had a little discrepancy with a gentleman that was sitting behind me and my spouse we was having some good laughs and he didn't like that we was laughing. So ham and my spouse was having little words back and forth but nothing major we told our waiter Cisco what happened an after we just left.
Great food as always. They seem to have adapted well to providing good safety precautions while still giving a great experience. Food is outstanding and will definitely come back.
They were out of wings and brisket- on a Friday night! The margarita was awful. Tasted sour and hardly any tequila. I did love my spare ribs but sadly my friends were not happy
Best BBQ joint in Manhattan as far as I'm concerned. Looks, feels and smells exactly as expected, AMAZING! Burnt Ends are killer, the moist brisket as fat that melts like butter and while smoked turkey breast is usually something I steer clear of because (because it is ALWAYS dry), this place has it down pat and it is moist and tender. The classics like pulled pork are great as well but I indulge in the stuff they make that others fall short on. My go to BBQ place and I'd eat there everyday if I could.
The foods were great as expected. Mac & Cheese is a must for your side. And please get the cornbread with honey butter. You wouldn't regret it. I ordered the pitmaster because you're able to try every meat they have to offer.
Great food with plenty of seating
I decided to go here to treat my mom with ribs since I heard great things about this place. The food was okay, my mom enjoyed the ribs but our server Paul was not attentive. When our food arrived, we noticed he forgot to bring us 2 items we ordered. We were mostly finished with our food and he never came around to check to see how everything was and if we got everything. We had to flag down another server to get the remaining food we ordered. My mom felt that he was rude and I’m upset she wasn’t able to fully enjoy her experience especially since this is the first place she went to for in door dining. I won’t be returning.
Had a great time with my family! And our waiter was such a sweetheart! Would definitely recommend!!
First time since the pandemic and it was SO missed. Lean brisket, campfire beans, cucumber salad, cornbread & Shiner Bock. Everything was delicious. Our server Erika was fantastic. Tables were spaced properly and dining indoors felt very safe. We will be back soon and adding HC back into our dining rotation :).
The sausages were over done and dry .. the lean brisket and ribs were good .. but not like before ..
Spot on with Texas style BBQ
Great Thanksgiving dinner
Thanksgiving during COVID
Food was awesome - way exceeded my expectation for NYC bbq...but $75/head for what we ate was pretty salty - service was outstanding...
Looking at their Instagram photos I was really expecting a better presentation and overall better flavor. It wasn't bad but my expectations weren't met. Both sausage choices were unavailable. That was a bummer. The chicken sandwich was mediocre, it was like a true fast food sandwich on the low end. Ribs, brisket, pulled pork and mac n cheese were good. Service was excellent. Not my pick if you want some good ole messy BBQ.
very good bbq, service was very fast and friendly.
Entire meal was a 1000/10 nw we enjoyed BBQ from a restaurant so much in my LIFE. My husband and I had a great time !!
The food is very good, tables outdoors, prices are expensive, watch what you order
The food was not as good as usual. We sat outside which was really nice
The food was excellent, I prefer indoor seating but this ridiculous Administration of ours in NYC is ruining everything as we once knew it! But Thank You Hill Country for making the effort!
