The atmosphere was cool and really resonated some Texas vibes. I was a little sad about a few items they didn’t have but the overall experience and food was good. I’m a Texan so I’m tough when it comes to BBQ yet the did good, I would come back. Samatha my server was excellent and sweet. She took the time to manage expectations when things were slightly delayed. She made sure we were well taken care of.

Post COVID the format of walking up to the counter, placing your order and walking away with your meal has changed and that made receiving our entree and sides a lot longer than it used to be. They are now delivered by a waiter. Overall the meal was good. Pulled pork was a bit dry but everything else was really well cooked and tasty. I’ll definitely be back.

Friendly service they actually offered us a taste of a beer we asked about. Moist brisket was amazing, ribs were great too. The sweet potato side was great. All in all an A+ dinner!

Moist brisket - outstanding as always. Sausage links (both types) - not so much / very disappointing. I seem to remember them being much better. They definitely were not up to par. Did Hill Country change sourcing? I thought used to be from Elgin or Lockhart, but these (both the regular and jalapeno cheddar), did not seem to be from either, and not TX quality. If you go, stick with the brisket. And bring back the Blue Bell!

I've dined here many times and would rate this a notch below. My initial server was fair at best and many little effort to explain the "menu board" (I would have ordered the Short Ribs and Spiced Wings vs. the Turkey and Brisket...) Both the Turkey and Brisket were flavorful, but the "cut" of Brisket was just ok. My 2nd Server "Franchisca"? was GREAT and I complemented her as such on my way out.

A definite improvement with what comes out of the barbecue pits -- after 24 hours of slow, magnificent pit barbecuing -- after a disappointing couple of meals there about a year ago. Pit master(s), side cooks, and management deserve compliments for turning the situation around because everything from the brisket to the chicken wings were being served -- and since it was take-out, we were already home before we would notice -- not properly or evenly seasoned, cooked, etc. So guys, continue to be vigilant and keep up the good work. Too bad prices have escalated to the point where it's not something we can do but once every few months. We used to go once a week! I understand beef prices are going through the roof across the U.S. so there's nothing we can do but pray and go out less. But there is something you have easy control of: Please, please, please find a way to offer barbecue sauce at the tables that isn't ice cold since that ruins all the delicious meat your customers pay a fortune to eat. The meat is already just warm out of the pit because that's your process; cold sauce quickly chills the chicken, pork and beef and that's never good.

Not a single person working in the restaurant was querying a mask. Seems highly unlikely they were all exempt. Our drinks were forgotten about and left on the bar for ages so only had time for one, one of our sides was missing off the pitmaster platter as well. Our server at the end was super apologetic and comped things off the bill but i wpuld have preferred if yhe setver had checked in on us throughout but i got the impression she has been working a long shift that wasnt close to being over so I am hoping the tip made its way to her as she didnt pick our bill off the table some manager woman did. The food was delicious, the brisket fell apart and melted in your mouth. Whatever the marinade was on the chicken tasted like heaven. Oh and it was my first time having cornbread which was delicious with the chilli apple butter stuff.

We wemt for an early dinner. We were able to sit outside so it was very quiet except for the bike lane that was rightby our table. Food was very good. They have a lunch special on the menu that is really perfect for dinner also. Itsa shame you can't order it. The waitier was very attentive. Everything was good.

The meats (moist brisket, spare rib, pulled pork and dark meat chicken) - as always - were delicious. The rest of our dinner wasn't as enjoyable - they were out of one of the draft beers that was first choice and the margarita on the rocks was tasty but "mostly rocks". They were also out of one of the limited choices of sides - the sweet potatoes. We both thought the mac and cheese was dry, overcooked and tasteless. Even drenching it in the tasty baked beans didn't help.

Have eaten here before and always had a wonderful experience. It was a little different this time due to the COVID pandemic in that you get table service instead of going up to the front to make your selections. Our wait person was nice and polite, and took his time on answering questions on our order. However, once the order was placed, we ended up waiting quite awhile to receive our food. We noticed two tables next to us that were seated after we had already placed our order. One was a party of 5 and the other table was a large group of about 10-12. They received their food ahead of us and we noted that their wait person was more present than ours. We felt ignored. We finally got served our food and it was lukewarm. We had our nephew visiting from overseas so we were excited for him to experience Texan BBQ. He enjoyed it not knowing what to expect but my wife and I knew that the food should have been hotter. We placed a second order for the moist brisket and that came out piping hot. We didn't complain anymore to our wait person but we were a bit disappointed by the overall service and quality of food served after talking about how great it was to our nephew beforehand. Can't help but think it may be because we are asians? Hope not. Don't know when we'll return but hope the next experience, if ever, will be a better one. Still would recommend but certain wait staff need coaching in customer service.
