Situated in the High Street of the picturesque village of Otford In the Darenth Valley just 100 yards from the only listed duck pond in the country, Hilal is itself a Grade II listed building.
Built in the 16th century, it was originally three one-up one down cottages situated next door to the Blacksmith on what was the main Pilgrims Way from London to Canterbury.
The former cottages were converted from a private house into tea-room in the 60’s, then became Hilal Restaurant.
Low-beamed and retaining much of the original character, it is cosy and welcoming which contributes greatly towards a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.

We both realy enjoyed the mealat the restrant. It was also a nice peaceful environment, with the water feature and staff adding to the overall ambiance. The foot was of good quality and set out nicely. The beer did add to the overall cost. (very tasty mind!) I would definately like to eat there again but might have to avoid the beverages to keep the cost affordable.
